Brady at Props FX was an amazing DJ! We have somewhat eclectic musical taste and we wanted the music really tailored for our wedding with a good mix of indie choices and dance music. Brady and Ammon (another DJ from Props) met with us before the wedding and were very enthusiastic about figuring out how to make that happen. We worked with them by sending them a sampling of songs we would like played during the cocktail hour and dinner portions and then left the dancing mostly up to them. They did a great job! Our guests loved the wide music selection and the wedding really ended up sounding like a dinner party that we would put on in our own home, very personal to us.
For the dancing portion, they did a great job keeping it moving, and even managed to mix in some latin music for the groom’s side of the family. It ended up being absolutely perfect for the evening and they were able to read the crowd and adjust as necessary so that people would stay out on the dance floor. Our families all commented on how much they enjoyed the dance music!
They arrived exactly on time to set up and had everything ready well ahead of time. We had asked for a couple extra things ahead of time, like a mike for the ceremony and an extra speaker for the indoor bar area and they took care of all of that with no problem at all and at a very reasonable cost.
Our timeline got moved around a little bit due to other circumstances, and they were great about being flexible and staying on top of everything. Brady did the announcements as necessary, but there was no cheesy interaction with the crowd and no unnecessary talking (exactly what we requested!). We’re so happy to have worked with them and if we went back and did it again, we’d definitely choose Props FX again.

Overall this was a good vendor. One problem we did have was that he didn't have the song for the mother/son dance that he said he had. We had it burned on a CD but didn't bring it because he told us he had it. That was quite a bummer. Other than that he felt the pace of the room and played music accordingly. Definitely not cheesy which makes this company high above the rest.

These guys drove all the way to Newport Beach for our wedding. They did a great job with the music and announcements. You get to pick all your songs and they really just do whatever you want them to.

The DJ was great! There are several DJ's in the company, but for our wedding we got Brady Westbrook who is the company owner I believe. Within a reasonable distance, he will drive out to meet you where you live and discuss what you are looking for. It doesn't hurt that he's cute :) Once booked, you are able to go online and add songs to your playlist that he will guarantee will be played. During the wedding, people can also request songs.

Initially I was having some communication issues with Props, but I will admit that those were probably more my fault than theirs. None of that mattered on the day of, anyway. Anthony was the perfect DJ for us. He was on time, played great music, and wasnt cheesy at all. He was on the mic for a minimal amount of time, made the announcements he was supposed to make in an effective manner, and then got off the mic and played good music. The pre-ceremony music and the cocktail hour music were both CDs that I burned for him (I was paranoid - Im very picky about music), but the dinner music was GREAT (he took a cue from my CDs) and the dance music was GREAT. Everyone was out dancing and having a good time. I was so, so pleased with the job he did for us, especially since DJ was my biggest concern and would really make or break the party I was trying to throw. Anthony was great. I would totally recommend him to someone looking for a non-cheesy, non-obtrusive DJ.
