These guys did a outstanding job at my wedding. They kept the dance floor full all night and exceeded all of our expectations. Thank you Ryan & Puttin' on the Hitz. You guys are awesome!

Michael went above and beyond to make sure our wedding reception was enjoyable for everyone. He knew that right song to play, at the right time, and the dance floor was full almost the entire night.
We had planned on an outdoor ceremony, dinner, and reception, and while we had a back up/indoor plan, we hadn't fully realized all the changes it would mean. The forecast the day of our wedding was for scattered showers and we decided to move everything indoors, rather than take the chance that it would be clear through the entire ceremony and reception. Michael was absolutely flexible and professional throughout that entire process, taking care of all of his details and working with the venue (not the bride or groom!) to get what he needed.
We had our wedding and reception at a mansion on the south side of Des Moines so we wanted it to be a classy affair - while still a lot of fun for everyone. When we thought we would be outside for the reception, we realized we would need lights once the sun went down and I communicated with Michael that I wanted "lights to match the tone of the venue" meaning I didn't want it lit up like a strip club. He totally understood what I was looking for and even when we were inside, his lighting and presentation was A+.
Michael is a terrific DJ - worth every penny. Very reasonably priced!

Our guests had a blast and didn't want to leave the dance floor! These guys know how to pick the right music to keep the guests happy.

Puttin' on the Hitz was a great company from the get-go to work with. After my sister's reception was ruined by a bad DJ, I was hesitant to hire a DJ for our wedding. We hired Puttin' on the Hitz based solely on the amazing ratings I found about them on this site. True to their rating, it was an amazing company to work with from the beginning. They always responded within a few days. The reception planning sheet on their website greatly helped both myself and the DJ when it came time to talk on the phone. Our DJ Ryan, called a week before the wedding and talked with me for almost an hour. He played exactly what we wanted and avoided what we didn't want. He was very professional the entire time and was flexible in working with us. The price compared to other DJ's in the area was very reasonable as well. I would recommend that any bride in the Central Iowa area hire Puttin' on the Hitz for their wedding.

Puttin on the Hitz was fabulous for our wedding reception. Everyone was very impressed by how well Michael kept everyone out on the dance floor, how energetic he was, and the overall good songs played.

Did an awesome job! They were very flexible with our last minute changes and helped to keep a great flow to our reception!!

Michael was easy to work with from the beginning. He was professional and made sure that we got everything we absolutely wanted. He even met with us after business hours because my spouse and I weren't able to meet earlier in the day. We played the "20 Questions" Game where the bride and groom hold up each other's shoes to answer simple questions about their new spouse. Michael asked hilarious questions and he communicated well with our guests, keeping the atmosphere fun. He made events through out the night run smoothly and on schedule. The set up of equipment was very professional and clean, and he played appropriate, radio-edit songs since we had a large range of ages.

Great job! There was one time during my reception where things weren't going well with my cake vendor and I was told to relax and I didn't think that was appropriate for the situation. otherwise I have no complaints. thanks!

Michael was the DJ at my friend's wedding last summer, and I thought he did a great job. I loved the variety of music he played, and he kept things running smoothly. When I got engaged, this was one vendor decision that didn't require a lot of research - my fiance and I knew we wanted Michael to be our DJ. And we're happy with that decision. Michael's professionalism is second to none, he asks all the right questions, and he knows how to get wedding guests of all ages on the dance floor - and keep them there. We could not have been happier with the DJ service provided by Puttin on the Hitz and our DJ, Seth. They are an extremely professional company from start to finish, providing outstanding service. We were impressed with Seth's attention to detail, even noticing that there wasn't a knife and cake server on the table for the bride and groom before it was time to announce the cake cutting. He played a tasteful choice of music throughout the evening that allowed for the enjoyment of all guests from 2-75! Puttin on the Hitz comes with the highest recommendations from our whole family! Our DJ was awesome! I think his name was Eric but he played whatever song I wanted him to play. All the guests I talked about how they liked the DJ and he also did a good job of keeping people on the Dance Floor. Great DJ A+++++

Puttin' on the Hitz did an AMAZING job at our wedding!!! Michael was very professional, flexible and organized! He took time to call me a week before the wedding to ensure he understood exactly what we expected the night of the ceremony. He was very organized throughout the whole process. Michael with Puttin on the Hitz did a fabulous job. I almost can't even do him justice by writing him a review. I have had SO many compliments on the great flow of the reception and the music. I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone. He truly helped make my wedding even more wonderful than it already was!!!

Seth was a joy to work with. He communicated with participants a few minutes ahead of important events (cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc) so that all involved were aware and ready. He was a lot of fun and our guests had a blast. Even my 79 year old mother was dancing! One thing I really appreciated was that nothing he said or did was in any way off-color or suggestive..he was a class act :-) He also took time to visit with me near the end of the evening; not only did he listen to what I had to say; he shared his perspective and a bit about himself. I could not have been more pleased with Puttin' on the Hitz!

My husband and I had not been to a lot of weddings before, and our DJ, Seth, walked us through everything that would be happening at the reception. Seth took in to considerations any requests or preferences we had and at no time while working with him did I feel stressed out or worried about how things would go. We selected Puttin' on the Hitz based on a friend's suggestion, and we will definitely be recommending this company to our friends in the future.

My wife and I really enjoyed the music that was played at the reception. And the ceremony music was spot on with our requirements. It was such a great event and to have some of the important parts in good hands was a relief and we appreciate it.

Our DJ Seth was amazing! I was comprehensive at first not knowing how he would be but he was more then what I could have ever wanted. When the dance started I had soo many people come up to me telling me how good he was and how he was playing music for all ages. The older adults were on the dance floor as much as the younger kids. We played till 12 and when we left we still had the dance full packed! I would use this DJ service because the cost is great and the service is amazing! I am going to use Puttin on the Hitz if I ever need a dj again!

We found Puttin' on the Hitz on Wedding Wire and checked out the website first. We were very impressed with what we read on there and decided to book. It was the BEST decision we made! Having a professional DJ was VERY important to my now husband and I Puttin on the Hitz delivered! From the introductions at the beginning of the night, to the last dance, Michael went above and beyond our expectations by finding rare songs we requested and continually doing activities to engage our guests. We had many guests inquire who are DJ was at the end of the night because of all the fun they had!

I LOVED working with Seth! He was awesome. I was surprised at how he made sure things were going smoothly and asked many questions beforehand to make sure I could just attend my wedding and not worry about much that day. Also, he got the crowd having a good time and was really good at playing songs that were appropriate for the crowd that was there. This is a GREAT value for the service!
