If you're looking for a unique New York venue, the Queens Farm will deliver. It is truly a beautiful location but the staff is VERY hands off -- meaning you're on your own to figure most things out. It required way more work than your average wedding venue, but in the end was worth it to me and my husband. The one thing I will say is that even though the farm rents out its space for private events (like weddings) they are still a full functioning farm, and had no qualms about driving a tractor right behind us as we said our vows. We just had to laugh and say it added to the charm of it being a farm wedding, but realistically, they could've held off for 15 minutes.

The farm is so beautiful and an amazing place to hold your "country chic" wedding! And everyone who worked with us was so friendly and professional...it made for a great day!

Being from Texas, I have lived in NYC for almost eight years now and my now husband is from Long Island, I wanted to find a venue in New York that kinda felt like home. I found that in 47 acres on a farm in Queens. It's such a great venue for anyone looking to diy! Mary, the event contact at the farm is very responsive and got back to me via email same day. And the farm staff that worked my wedding were very helpful and attentive. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out at the farm and it's been about 3 weeks since and guest are still talking about the wedding!

The place is one of the most unique in NYC and very affordable (under 2k including tables and chairs!). Although it is far from NY metro area (border of Queens and LI) I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for location with lots of character.
