Rainbow's End

The restaurant was letting us bring in our own cake, so we looked around at several bakeries to see if we could get a better deal elsewhere. Cakes range from about $1 to $6 a slice, but we were looking at the cheaper end. We also looked at the idea of getting cupcakes, and finally decided to get cupcakes and a small cake for us to cut. We went with Rainbow’s End, even though they were a bit more expensive than a regular mom and pop bakery because they could make the cake vegan. I’m not vegetarian, and neither is Andrew, but my best friend is and we were going to have several vegetarians at the wedding. It also helps take the guilt out of eating two or three cupcakes on the wedding night, which I did. We went to several consultations, and they were just as nice as the other bakeries we visited. It was nice seeing how clean their shop was, too, and I think the selling point was how good they could make vegan chocolate.

We had a small party of friend and family, so we didn’t need a big cake, which also meant that we could get a nice cake. We wanted a cake that was organic and no trans fat. We also wanted a cake that was special. With a lot of research, and a lot of taste testing, we chose Rainbow’s End just because the chocolate cake tasted so good. Under their suggestion, we had a small 8-inch cake make, and then had 2 dozen cupcakes, which looked really pretty. I never would have thought of getting cupcakes, and that worked really well! Organic and kosher!
