Reviews for Rancho Las Lomas

We got married here this last January and it was absolutely perfect! We put a clear tent in the teatro area and had our ceremony and reception down there and it was magnificent. Every one was raving about how amazing and beautiful the venue was. There is so much space to spread out, so many places for special details, and so different than any other place you will go! I highly recommend it.

AMAZING!!!! The Venue is out of this world. We recently had our wedding at Rancho, and it was better than I could have ever imagined. Everything was perfect. The day was perfect, the ceremony area was beautiful, the reception was so much fun, and the food AMAZING, thanks to 24 Carrots. The venue grounds are breath taking. I could have not asked for my Wedding day to be any better than it was. I am still getting comments about the Wedding. Most say it was the best wedding they have ever been too. I think it was pretty spectacular.

Working with Rancho Las Lomas for our wedding was a great experience. It was easy for one, and while planning a wedding, you want reliable and easy! The venue is beautiful, secluded, flows beautifully, and creates an intimate feeling in a larger space. It is also really great that the place is yours for the whole day! I would highly recommend Rancho Las Lomas for a wedding venue!
GUEST

SO beautiful and perfect for a wedding. Not only was the venue clean and in perfect condition, the vendors they refer are A-list. You get the quality you payed for at this venue. I would refer this place to anyone.
GUEST

Rancho Las Lomas is quite possibly the most beautiful, breathtaking venue available in Southern California. We had planned to have our wedding at another venue, which fell through-- lucky for us!!! We love nature, and this venue truly had it all-- from indoor to outdoor seating, lots of nature, plenty of room, and professional staff. Our guests ooh'd and ahh'd and said that it was the most beautiful spot they'd seen for a wedding-- truly magical. We highly recommend it to anyone. The staff was GREAT- Another review on 24 Carrots on their page.

Our recent wedding at Rancho was amazing! Everyone raved about the beautiful venue and couldn't get over how unique it was. On our wedding day, the staff really took care of us and the grounds looked beautiful! The animals (especially the parrots at the entrance) make it such a magical place. If you are looking for an outdoor ceremony and something different from the average hotel ballroom, this is the place. The best part....the property is yours all day, no sharing the space with another wedding or a restaurant. Also, the beautiful trees provide great shade so even though it was a warm summer day, everyone was very comfortable. We used the reception hall and had them keep all of the french doors open. It created this fantastic indoor/outdoor space. This venue was just the kind of thing I imagined in my mind when we first started planning.
GUEST

Booking the venue and dealing with the sales lady was a little difficult but they have since replaced her. That was the only downside and everything else was perfect. The venue is so beautiful you need little else to make it special.

RLL is a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding. If you are looking for someothing unique in OC, this is the spot.

We recently got married at Rancho Las Lomas and we truly picked the perfect loctaion. The site is breathtaking from the on site animals to the beautiful architecture. Everyone that attended was amazed. We continue to get compliments and inquiries on the location. If you're looking for a beautiful and amazing wedding location, Rancho is for you!

Rancho Las Lomas is the most beautiful place! Our wedding was picture perfect at this wimsical and ultra romantic venue.

Rancho Las Lomas was the first place I visited when trying to find a wedding venue. I must've visited at least 20 other venues in Orange County but simply could not get RLL out of my head! The venue is so unique...while you're on the property you really feel as if you're in your own world. I am an OC transplant and I loved the fact that this venue showed our wedding guests a side of Orange County other than the beaches we're known for.RLL allows you to arrive at the property early and really enjoy the day. There is a very nice bridal cottage to dress and have hair and make-up done in. The groom's cottage is much smaller, but decent. The outdoor areas are gorgeous and very well kept, and guests especially enjoyed all of the animals. We also really loved walking around the property and enjoying the animals with our bridal party and family after our rehearsal the night before the wedding. The "Grand Salon" is very cozy and made for a great intimate party. There are definitely some things to keep in mind if you are considering a wedding here:1. Catering must be through 24 Carrots on weekends - This is actually a HUGE PLUS!!! So thankful we didn't have to waste our time with anyone else! They are professional, know the venue inside and out, and serve delicious food!2. Transportation - We ended up using a shuttle service to and from the Ayres hotel. This was one of the best things we could've done! It's not cheap, but guests are really able to enjoy themselves and we had piece of mind knowing no one would be drinking and driving on dark unfamiliar roads. Be careful with who you hire...Best Chauffeured was amazing and knew not to use shuttles that held more than 23 people.3. Kara is now in charge - Nili is no longer with RLL. I personally didn't have nearly the bad experience shared by some of those who have posted reviews. Kara was not in charge while we planned our wedding, but was present throughout our planning process. She was always so pleasant, encouraging, and responsive. Everything you would expect. Putting her in charge was a smart move. Those are the only "musts" to really be aware of. I also have to share that we used Lindsay at LVL Events for Coordinating and Larrissa at Inviting Occasion for flowers. I'll yelp on these ladies separately because they are SO AMAZING and deserve really long posts of their own! :)

After looking at many different places to get married, as soon as we saw Rancho Las Lomas we knew we had to get married here. The site is beautiful and provided a breathtaking backdrop for our wedding! All of our guests said how amazing this venue is and we could not agree more.- Susan and Michael 3-12-2011 at Rancho Las Lomas

We had the first wedding of the new year!!! 1/1/11. This site was amazing. From the lit fireplace on our cold morning in the bridal suite, to the gorgeous grounds... everything was perfect. This venue was awesome as well because they honored a quote they had originally given me for the rental...even when they later figured out they were supposed to charge me more. Love their professionalism. They created a truly dream wedding... check them out!

I just had my wedding at Rancho and it turned out beautifully. It took us a long time to find a venue that reflected our personalities, and we were very taken with Rancho. Our guests are still calling us to tell us how amazing the venue, food and flowers were. Rancho also has a great list of vendors that they recommend. I found the experience really wonderful, everything was perfect I have no complaints, it really is a magical place for a wedding.

If you are looking for a ceremony and venue that is out of the ordinary, RLL is the place. It is so beautiful there. Your guest will enjoy the wild animals they have on the property as well ( In cages of couse). I loved my Wedding. I had to plan it in 6 weeks. The catering was excellent. Perfect if you want a garden Wedding!!

Mary, I am so happy it all worked out for you. A beautiful wedding can be planned in just a few weeks if you are flexible and calm. All the best to you !Warmly, Nili Stevens
GUEST

Beautiful venue. All of the staff are extremely helpful. Ended up being more expensive than we thought, partly because the caterer you have to choose (24 carrots) nickel and dimes you. However, we had many people tell us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and the food was great.
GUEST

Well - this was just the best experience that my daughter and I have ever had - from beginning to end;the people, the service, the food, the PLACE. There was no guest that didn't rave, and say that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. Choosing Rancho Las Lomas was truly the best decision we ever made, and everyone involved-Nili (Rancho), Laura (24 carots), Larissa (flowers), Lisa (coordinator), the Seargents (photographer), the people at Elysium (video) Dimitri (DJ), DPS (lighting) - all the BEST - all worked with each other with love for what they do. There are no words enough.
GUEST

I was recently married at Rancho Las Lomas on September 5, 2010. I am honestly lost for words. People say that your wedding should be the best day of you life, and while I tried not to put that kind of pressure on it when I was planning, it magically turned out to be that way because of all the wonderful people I worked with. Nili Stevens was so supportive and amazing at directing me towards the best people: from my florist (Larissa@ inviting occasions), caterer (24 carrots), planner (Lisa Moon), photographers (Sargeants) ,video (Elysium) DJ (Dimirtri Zarate)...the day couldn't have been better. It does help that our families our crazy and love to have a good time :)If you are looking for something unique in your wedding, Rancho is the place. It honestly feels like you are having a destination wedding. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

Danielle, I am not sure we could ask for a better review ! I know I speak for everyone when I say we found a friend in you..You were an absoulute delight to work with . You and your mom had us all laughing out loud at one time or another. We wish you the very best in your new life with Seth !

it was kind of hard to work with getting outside food, drinks, anything. This made it hard to add special touches or personal touches while keeping the cost down.

Rancho Las Lomas was beautiful. The venue was flawless on our wedding day! 24 carrots did a great job with the dinner. I was a little upset when they served all the wrong appetizers...... But at the end of the day, no one knew and everyone loved what they served.
GUEST

This was an absoultely amazing place to get married and they were very accomodating! I really could not have though of a better place to spend that moment. I would reccomended it to any bride i meet!

Rancho Las Lomas is an amazing wedding location. Even though the location is pricey, it's definitely worth every penny. The venue is designed to accommodate all your wedding needs. The staff is well trained and are willing to help make your dream wedding come true. There is no other place I would rather get married at. Rancho Las Lomas is a taste of heaven on earth.

We were absolutely thrilled with our wedding at Rancho Las Lomas on June 12, 2010. After a venue catastrophe with our original venue just 4 months before our wedding, I contacted Rancho Las Lomas and Nili (their sales manager) took control of the situation right away! Luckily, our wedding date had become available and within a few days we had booked with Rancho Las Lomas and all the details were covered! 24 Carrots catering was FANTASTIC. They handled the food, bar, linens, everything - and did it perfectly. I never heard "sorry, we can't do that" or "I don't know what you want me to do" when we had questions, requests or concerns in the weeks before the wedding. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our wedding. Even down to our event captain, Heather, folding our napkins herself to insure that they were a perfect fit for our menu cards. Rancho Las Lomas and 24 Carrots lived up to every expectation I had....even surpassing most of them! We got so many comments about how professional the catering staff was at the wedding, how beautifully presented and yummy the appetizers, late night snacks, and entrees were (no cold food at a wedding of 180 people!), how quick the staff responded to the guests, and just generally how fabulous our wedding was! I would without a doubt recommend Rancho Las Lomas and 24 Carrots to any couple who wants their wedding to be a fun, classy, gorgeous, relaxing and amazing experience. I'm not a perfectionist in my everyday life, but for my wedding I morphed into one. With Rancho Las Lomas and 24 Carrots at the wheel, we were relaxed and able to enjoy our day! It was still a blur, as I hear most wedding days are, but all of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever attended. I would, without hesitation, recommend Rancho Las Lomas to anyone considering using them for their wedding!

No matter where you stand at this venue, the place is absolutely gorgeous. I'm pretty sure some of my single friends will be getting married here in the future. Thank you for a lovely, surreal, fun wedding.

Rancho Las Lomas is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen. When we visited this venue for the first time, we knew we had to have our wedding here. All of our guests loved the venue and still talk about how wonderful it was. Nili and Kara were really nice and great to work with. The only issues we had with the venue is that you had to use their caterer (24 Carrots) which was a pain because they weren't the best to work with and they served one of our tables completely raw chicken at our wedding. For such a beautiful venue, you would think they would have a better caterer or they would at least let you choose. Other than that it was a great place to have our wedding and we're glad we did.
GUEST

My wedding at Rancho Las Lomas was absolutely beautiful! My husband and I only had one issue and that was with 24 Carrots doing our catering. We knew going into it that we would have no other choice when it came to caterers. However, we expected the caterers to be more professional. With Rancho Las Lomas being such a beautiful and EXPENSIVE venue, we expected they would choose a caterer that would represent them just as well!
GUEST

There is so much I can say about RLL but much of it has been said. As a wedding venue it is beyond gorgeous. We only look at a few other venues before stumbling upon it but I can't imagine having been married anywhere else. I highly recommend hiring a coordinator that has worked there before and knows how the lay out and set up goes. When it comes to that stuff you are left on your own to figure that out but the good thing is they let you do whatever you want. We ended up spending more than we projected but I think that might be a common thing when it comes to weddings. As a warning you have to bring in everything thru your caterer (chairs, spoons, you name it,) but it was still worth it for us! There is just no other place in orange county or san diego thats quite like it.
GUEST

My daughters wedding was amazing, we enjoyed every second.Thank you for everyone that helped make this day soooooooooobeautiful
GUEST

RLL was incredible! It as the best place for our wedding and we would do it all over again. It was amazing to have the entire venue to ourselves for the whole day. It made it convenient for our guests to have the ceremony and reception in one place. All of the people that work for RRL were extremely easy to talk to and flexible.
GUEST

Gorgeous and unique venue, excellent food. We received many positive comments about both from our guests. Everyone was friendly and easy to work with, although (perhaps understandably) at times we felt like we were being a little rushed. I believe there are some limitations on music after a certain hour, but didn't affect our reception. A little on the high side in terms of price, but you definitely get what you pay for. We got a discount for booking "off season" and it worked out fine (although it rained the weekend before and after our wedding).Be prepared to do some math - they charge a usage fee per fork, per plate, chair, etc. Wasn't a round figure per preson. To be clear, Rancho Las Lomas is the venue, and 24 Carrots is the caterers, but on weekends you don't have a choice - you have to use 24 Carrots.
GUEST

We had a beautiful and magical wedding at Rancho Las Lomas. The staff was always very helpful and could answer any questions or help with suggestions as needed. We were very pleased with our whole experiance and would recommend to any couple who would love a warm an intimate setting for there wedding or reception.
GUEST

We knew Rancho was IT for us when we first saw it. The pictures on the website are pretty, but really you need to see Rancho in person to appreciate the absolutely breathtaking beauty of the place! It really is a wonder. And no other venue is like it--it's like a dream destination wedding without all the hassle! Our reception was held outdoors on November 7, 2009, and Nili and Kara and 24 Carrots were SO great in accommodating our special requests and they were also fantastic in addressing our concerns, as well. Nili and Kara are incredibly helpful and SO sweet--really amazing people to work with! It just made Rancho an even greater place. We had cocktails upstairs with a mariachi band, and then dinner and dancing downstairs in the teatro, and everything just flowed so effortlessly--we had some difficult-to-please guests attend our wedding, people who've been to weddings at the Pelican Hill Resort, the St. Regis, the Ritz, and the Montage, and they all agreed that ours was the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended--and that is ALL Rancho! Dancing under the stars is just about the best it gets! A hotel ballroom, even the nicest and most expensive, seems boring and dull in comparison! Everyone just raved and raved about how beautiful Rancho is, and though it is a bit pricier than some other outdoor venues, what you get is absolutely worth it! You have the entire venue to yourself ALL DAY--there's no other weddings to compete with, and there's no "block of time" you have to stay within. You and your guests are treated like VIP--there's valet parking, handicap access (our senior guests were treated VERY well!!), wonderful staff, a very quaint bridal cottage to get ready in, so many romantic nooks and alcoves to explore, plus the tigers!!... Where else can your guests see white tigers up-close and personal? The animals were a big hit with not only our big families, but our older guests, as well. And the place is overall well-maintained and well taken care of--looked absolutely spotless on our Big Day! We visited RLL several times before the wedding and had no problems or complaints at all. We had a long 2-year engagement, and everything went perfectly in those two years, and everyone was just SO nice! This is the ultimate location for a high-end upscale wedding, OR for a more modest wedding, since the natural beauty of the place, whatever your budget, will WOW your guests! We could not be happier, or have had a better experience. Thanks Nili and Kara for all your advice, support, and your thoughtfulness! We are SO SO happy!
GUEST

A coworker told us about RLL after we got engaged. We saw it on the website and absolutely fell in love with the location. We knew that was the place we wanted to get married. As soon as we went to RLL we loved it even more. It has so much natural beauty. Anytime I wanted to visit the location I would just call and it was never I problem, I believe I went around 5 times. If you're looking for a unique location that will surprise your guests this is the place.
GUEST

As soon as we saw RLL, we knew it was the spot for our wedding. The property is absolutely beautiful. They did a great job and the day turned out perfect. Our guests commented that they loved it.

I just had my dream wedding last month at Rancho Las Lomas. I worked with them for 6 months prior getting things planned and set. Their vendor list was wonderful. Everyone I worked with was so professional and knew exactly what they were doing. The staff at RLL was so accommodating and personal. I felt as though mine was the only wedding they were helping plan. They gave such attention to detail without stressing this bride out. Their suggestions were very helpful and I can honestly say I had a smooth experience planning the wedding and a seamless wedding day. As for the site and day itself, I cant think of a single thing that went wrong or that I didnt enjoy. The site is just spectacular both in the daytime and the evening. We saved so much on flowers because of the natural beauty of the place. We spent an amazing evening under the stars and danced the night away. A month later, I still have people tell me it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever attended.
GUEST

Rancho Las Lomas provides you with a magical location that is completely yours for the day of your event. You will not be sharing the location with strangers that wandered in from other parts of the hotel or, worse yet, from the beach. Everyone we worked with were extremely accomodating in arranging appointments for our initial visits as well as appointments that occurred during the planning stages. There is a site at the venue for each part of your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception or you can hold everything in the same setting. Because of its natural beauty (buildings, tiles, trees, flowering plants and potted plants), you need do very little more decorating. The bride's cottage is perfect for your appointment for hair, makeup and a celebratory glass of champagne before the ceremony. The path from the bride's cottage to the ceremony site makes a spectacular "walk down the aisle." We were extremely pleased with our choice of Rancho Las Lomas and would heartily recommend it to anyone who asked.
GUEST

Beautiful location! It is hard to get appointments to visit the site when needed. Other than that it is an amazing place to get married.

I attended a wedding at Rancho Las Lomas last month and felt I should write a review to help future brides.
Pros:
-It's a beautiful location and the nature around the venue is very pleasant.
-The spanish style property is very pretty.
-It looks beautiful with candles at night outside of the reception room.
-It's a private location (which in turn makes it very far down El Toro road).
Cons -
-The catering company served uncooked chicken. When I say uncooked, I mean raw in the center. At least four tables were served this and were not given a new meal after servers from 24 carrots were informed and shown the chicken.
-Appetizer also took what seemed like forever to arrive during cocktail hour.
-I went back to my car to get a jacket because there was only 1 heater on the patio and found that valet had left my car unlocked, which had a laptop, video camera, and other valuable items in it.
-The bathrooms weren't attended very frequently. One was out of toilet paper for the night and the other had cocktails resting on the toliet.
-Someone on the staff asked if they could move our friends table over a bit to create more space for the dance floor. Little did my friend know, but they took out the whole table and she was left with no seat for the evening.
-Depending on how picky you are with smell...it could be a problem. Guests were referring to the venue as a zoo. I personally got over the smell and assumed that's what you get when you have animals around.
-Heels are really hard to wear while checking out the animals.
-Knowing other brides who have checked out this venue they have agreed that it's not your event it's more like your event at their venue and you have to abide by all the rules. I got the feeling that brides weren't able to make the event their own and it left them feeling that they couldn't be creative.
If you love this place for it's property, make sure to ask lots of questions about service and food quality!
Overall, the property is very beautiful, but to pay so much for a wedding I'm sure any bride would hope for better service, and at least a cooked meal.
GUEST

There is simply no place like Rancho Las Lomas. It's amazingly beautiful. You feel as though you've left Orange County even though you're just a few miles outside of Foothill Ranch. Our guests were simply blown away by it. Another incredible advantage is that it's all yours the entire day of your event. No other brides or guests watching from the pool like at many hotels. Although it's not an inexpensive venue it's worth it for the privacy alone. We got ready at Rancho and really appreciated not having to travel from place to place on our wedding day. We also liked the ability to have two completely different locations for the ceremony and reception, both equally beautiful and right together. Another advantage is the ability to hire your own vendors, allowing you endless choices in both product and price for your wedding day. Rancho's vendor suggestions are generally over priced but with a little research you can have an incredible wedding for a reasonable price at Rancho. Yes, you have to bring in absolutley everything, down to the tables and chairs but that gives you total control over the cost and look of your wedding. However, I would suggest using their caterer, a requirement on the weekends. 24 Carrots knows their way around Rancho, their food is out of this world and their overal performance on the day of the wedding was outstanding. If you are looking for a private, personal, and memorable event location, Rancho Las Lomas is worth every penny.
GUEST

I LOVE RANCHO LAS LOMAS. It is the most beautiful location from the minute you drive into the gate. It doesn't feel like you are in Orange County and you have the entire location to yourself on your wedding day. Everyone on the premise is there for your day. Nili will definitely help in making the place become a reality if you have a tighter budget.. from booking during off season days or fridays/sundays. Every penny is worth the place and I wouldn't have changed the location for anything... If you love the natural, outdoor, non-hotel like venue- this is the place to book!
GUEST

In my opinion, there is no other venue as beautiful as Rancho Las Lomas. My officiant called it a "playground for the senses." Everywhere you walk, you hear the sound of running in water in the many fountains on the grounds. I barely needed a florist because of the natural beauty of the estate and it is kept immaculate. I had a wonderful experience with the Sales team for RLL. I was on a limited budget but just HAD to get married there. They worked with me to get a date in the off-season, on a Thursday; so not only did I save money on the venue, but all my vendors discounted their prices as well. I was constantly contacting Kara in the office to ask questions or be reminded of items that had slipped my mind, and she never made me feel like I was an inconvenience. In fact, I scheduled so many site visits to RLL during my planning process and it was never a problem. The most relaxing thing is knowing you don't have another wedding or event stacked up on you. So many other venues only give you a 4-hour time frame for your event, then you are rushed out to make way for the next. We were able to arrive at Rancho early in the morning, hang out in the bridal cottage (which is gorgeous), get our hair and make up done and just enjoy the greatest day of my life. I was my own wedding coordinator, with the help of my caterer. It can be done, but if you want to alleviate a little more stress of your shoulders, be sure to hire a coordinator. In fact, Nili at RLL has a list of preferred vendors she will recommend and who will work within your budget. I want to get married all over again because it truly was the best day of my life.

Our wedding was held here in January 24, 2009. It's obvious this is a place of beauty and privacy above all other wedding venues in the area. It is a little pricey (we were lucky to get a great deal since it was January) and you do have to use some of their specific vendors which didn't give you much flexibility if you're on certain budgets (yes, we went pretty far above our budget because of choosing our wedding here). But if you can have your wedding here, do it! You will definitely not regret it. You will get amazing pictures everywhere you take a shot. Your guests will have a surreal time, saying this is one of the "classiest" weddings they've been too, without even doing much to the place (I didn't go wild on decorations or flowers, I let the natural beauty of the place do the work for me). The vendors they suggested were very professional and easy to work with, so the value was good for the money you spent (but you should always negotiate to get the best out of it.) The privacy aspect of the location really made a big difference, it makes it all about the two of you and your family and friends and that's it. We look at all our wedding day photos now, and that's all we see is just our wedding, which makes it perfect.

This place is magical!! You get the whole place to yourself all day.
You must must see it!!!!
GUEST

Worth every Penny!!! My Husband and I saw this place online and immediately wanted to book it! They were all booked up for Saturdays until 2009 and because we wanted this place so bad that we moved our wedding to Friday!! If you want a place that will WOW your family & friends this is the place! Once you rent out the place, you pick your caterer and I truly believe once you tell your vendors your venue, they will be more than overjoyed to work with you. Not to mention your phoographer will be extremely happy! The exotic animals on the property are so strategically placed that everything flows so well. I would recomment spending a little extra and try to book this venue, you will be so happy and pleased..oh yea and all your guests will be impressed as well!!
GUEST

Nili and Kara with Rancho Las Lomas were wonderful to work with. I always heard back from them right away. I love that you are able to rent the venue for the entire day without worrying about another wedding coming up. It's private, exclusive, not to mention absolutely gorgeous! Everyone is still raving about how beautiful the place was. It had everything I could have wanted in a venue. Having the ceremony and reception at the same place was important to us, because we have some elderly family members that we didn't want to hassle with moving places. They have tigers, zebras, lamas, macaws....the place takes your breath away. Loved it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

People are still commenting on how beautiful our wedding at Rancho Las Lomas was. It has everything I could have possibly wanted in a venue. It's private and we had the place to ourselves for the entire day. It has a bridal cottage tucked away so the bride is completely hidden. The landscape alone was enough to thrill, but on top of that they have tigers, exotic birds, lamas, zebras, and other animals! It was perfect and I couldn't imagine a more beautiful location. Nili and Kara with Rancho Las Lomas have been so great to work with too. Not one complaint!

Rancho Las Lomas was about the 6th place we looked. The second we were on the grounds we knew it was the perfect place for us. It allowed the privacy that a hotel or country club could not offer. We had our ceremony and reception at RLL. Our pictures turned out amazing with all of the locations available on the grounds to take unique and fun shots! All of our guests absolutely loved the venue and some even wondered off to look at the animals. I Love this venue and would strongly recommend you look at it before booking in OC!
GUEST

Rancho Las Lomas is absolutely beautiful!!! The second I saw it I HAD to get married there! It is a little pricey but so worth it! We had both our reception and ceremony outside in the courtyard and it was perfect!!! Because it's such a great site it was completely booked for all Saturday nights in 2008 so we ended up getting married on a friday. Which ended up working in our favor because you can bring in your own catering on fri nights! One of the best parts is that you have the complete property for the entire day of the wedding! My bridesmaids and I got there in the morning and had the hair and makeup people come to us. It was awesome to spend the day there with the girls, sitting out on the deck drinking mimosas and getting ready together in the great little bridal room they have!
GUEST

Rancho Las Lomas is a hidden treasure! There is no other place that I could imagine getting married. The venue is more then any girl planning her wedding could ask for. Once you begin to walk around the property you can feel the love and romance in the air. It is completely private once the bride arrives which was a huge plus! People are still talking about our wedding a year later.

Fabulous venue! I loved having our reception there! Since we were coming from across the country back to my hometown, I really wanted to show our out–of–town guests the different aspects of Orange County. Rancho Las Lomas gave us the opportunity to share the Spanish charm of California with our guests. Nili was great to work with, very straight forward and no nonsense. Kara is great too… very prompt in adjusting our contracts for us and had our receipts in the mail quickly for us to file away. The site is just amazing! Our guests enjoyed every inch of it.

This location is absolutely fabulous! It's got all the elements of a natural setting, with animals and beautiful water fountains and trees everywhere. I had an outdoor ceremony surrounded by all the outdoor elements, and an indoor reception with a wonderful fireplace and cocktail area. The pictures on their website don't do it justice. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. They loaded all my gifts into my car before the end of the night so I didn't have to worry about any of that. The price has gone up substantially since I was married there only 8 months ago. It's definitely not mid-range anymore. You can save money by booking a Friday or Saturday event, and not during peak season (Oct-Feb). The only complaint I have was getting back my deposit. It was a month after my event when I realized I hadn't received my deposit back yet. I should have gotten it back 2 weeks after the event. It took 5+ emails, numerous phone calls and 2 months to figure out where the check was, when it was sent, where it was supposedly sent to. I didn't get my check until a full 3 months after my wedding.

This was the 3rd place we looked at when picking a site for both the ceremony & reception & we immediately fell in love with it. The bigggest draw of this place.....the animals!!!!! Everyone at Rancho was really welcoming & helpful. We had no problem scheduling multiple appointments (to show off the place to our family). My husband even got a chance to get up close with the bengal tigers on one of the visits. On the day of our wedding it rained!! We were sad we weren't able to have the ceremony outside but that didn't stop the fun. The ground crew continually spent the day making sure there weren't any puddles for us or our guest to step in. Also, when I arrived that morning, the staff had an hour-by-hour play of the weather so we could quickly decide on an alternate plan of action. Even in the rain the site was beautiful & we still got some really great photos. I simply cannot say how much we enjoyed having our wedding at this site.

This place was beautiful! My now husband and I fell in love with it the moment we set foot on this venue. Lots of greenery and it has a spanish/hacienda flair to it. All of our guests were so impressed and commented for months after the wedding about such beautiful and original location. It is a little pricey in my opinion and they are not very flexible but I have to say it was worth every penny. We had to use their caterer, chairs, bar services. so the price reflects those services

Let me start by saying if I had to do it all over again, I'd go with Rancho Las Lomas in a heart beat! It's an absolutely gorgeous location!! I realize my review ratings don't necessarily reflect that. I had issues with RLL's sales person from the beginning. RLL Is a highly sought after location and so she was very quick to tell us that from the get go. When we booked the location we decided on a Sunday (holiday weekend). We received no discounts even though it was a Sunday because it was a holiday weekend. When I had questions it seemed like it was hard to get ahold of her and she wasn't always helpful. On the day of the wedding there wasn't a representative from RLL at all. I never did meet the sales rep. When I did the tour it was someone different and on the day of if there was someone I never saw them. I never received a follow up call asking if we were happy with our experience or for that matter if we needed anything. We had to use Craigs on the Table for catering and fortunately they are very familiar with RLL. I cannot say enough positive things about Craigs!! Oh and one more thing, when I was scheduling my tour of RLL I was told they did not allow tours on wedding days (once the bride was on site). I had to tell them when I would arrive ... I told them no sooner than 2:00 (we had a 5:00 wedding). Well, wouldn't you know, on the day of my wedding, after I was already there (mind you this was after 3:00) there was someone there looking at the site. When my coordinator approached them she was told that she worked for RLL (but she was there with her parents) and was showing the site to her family. I didn't overly mind that she was there but I didn't like that I had been told that wouldn't happen and then it did. Like I said, you absolutely cannot get past the fact that it's a goregous location and if I had to do it all over again, I'd still pick RLL!

The physical environment is outstanding, it is truly a gorgeous, secluded venue that makes you feel like you're having a wedding at a rich friend's house. The natural flowers and huge oak trees provide a unique setting for your wedding. We could not have picked a more beautiful venue.Because it's such a unique, popular wedding location in Orange County, just be prepared to not have a lot of flexibility. The cost is the cost, the dates available are the date available. So while the booking fee is high, they know you'll pay it if you want that spectacular location. They don't really need to do anything else, even though it would be a really nice thing to do to offer good customer service. At the time of our wedding, they had an exclusive caterer for weekend dates (Craig's On the Table Catering), and they leave it up to the caterer to handle "coordination" of your wedding. We held our tasting with them, and the food was very average, but came with a very premium cost. RLL also gives you a list of their "preferred vendors" for lighting, DJ, photography, etc. If you book any of them, the RLL salesperson gets a commission, so she really doesn't have any incentive to help you if you don't go with people on her list because she makes no money. We ended up paying a high buy-out fee to be able to bring in our own caterer and event production company/planner, and did not choose any other vendors off of their "preferred list". It was worth paying the extra money to have the good food we wanted, and the good service we wanted. The other reviewers are correct that the salesperson at the venue isn't exactly brimming with helpfulness, so don't expect much there. She basically just books the venue, handles the calendar, takes the payments, and tells you you have to use their preferred caterer and valet company...that's it. Make sure you hire a coordinator to take care of managing the rest of the vendors and all your details.
Amazingly beautiful venue. It's heaven on earth.
Great and beautiful venue... it's like heaven on earth

I've been working at Rancho Las Lomas for over a dozen years now and I can say without hesitation that this venue is top notch all the way. There are some very outstanding resorts in Orange County, but there is only one Rancho Las Lomas or the "Ranch" as we like to call it. It's very very unique and not just another ballroom. If you haven't checked out the this wonderful venue then you are certainly missing out. Once you see this beautiful property you will not want to look any further. Nili and her wonderful staff along with 24 Karat Catering do a superb job. Always a pleasure for sure and heck, where else can you get married and have Bengal Tigers, Zebras and other wild life within walking distance? It just doesn't get any more exotic then this.
I have DJ'd over 100 weddings at Rancho Las Lomas from the year 2000 to today. The venue is amazing. Being there you are surrounded by mature trees, lush vegetation and unique wildlife. There is a path to walk where you can see live animals from zebras to white tigers and a variety of tropical birds. The only people you see are your invited guests, not looky-loo strangers peeking in on your event. My favorite feature is on the lower level---an immense tree that splits underneath the bridge that leads from the cottage to the teatro level. It is absolutely enormous, mythical. I always wonder which came first: the bridge or the tree?
The most beautiful and fun venue I've ever been too. There are so many things to see and explore like tigers, zebras & beautiful trees, and they have the best tasting food ever. Love watching guests see the place for the first time, in awe of the beauty all around them. Photographer, Scott A. Nelson
One of the most beautiful and unique venues in California! The staff is amazing and make working at this great venue even more of a joy. Their preferred vendor list is comprised of some of the most talented and sought after vendors in the wedding industry. It is a wonderland for the senses!!!
Rancho Las Lomas provides one of the best backdrops for your event in Orange County. You'll never have enough time on the day of your wedding to capture them all - there's that many of them. I wish I could shoot there every weekend.Michael Erdkampmemoriesbymichael.com
Words can't express my love for Rancho Las Lomas. My first wedding that I did flowers for was in 1989 at the Ranch. I have had the pleasure of watching this spectacular venue grow over the years. When I walk on site, I feel as though I am in a comfort zone that has become natural for me. I have been on the vendor list at Rancho Las Lomas for at least fifteen years and have done countless weddings.I can't imagine a more magical, unique place to hold an event or a wedding. My Top favorite!
