I didn't actually use Rapp Fine Photography for wedding portraits, but for family pictures. I have used her twice (so far) to photograph my children.

She was extremely patient with three crazy boys, all going different directions. We tried both posed and candid shots. It was amazing the number of pictures she took, just to get the perfect shot -- and the end results were just that -- perfect.

The cost was more than reasonable. I would have spent at least as much money had I gone to a portrait studio. Instead I was able to choose a fun location and Melanie spent over two hours with us -- you don't get that kind of attention at a studio!

We will definitely be using Melanie for our family portraits for many years to come.

Melanie was great! I bragged about her to everyone. All of my wedding guests loved her. Using her as my photographer was the best decision I made for my wedding!

What primary photographic style do you identify with?

What do your packages include?

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

Every print is retouched by a photography specialist. Artistic Enhancements are included in all wedding packages. We provide hand-coloring, sepia toning, hand-painting, duo-tone, infrared black and white, vignettes, watercolor, and much more.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

I have experience in all lighting situations. This is important because weddings take place in many different places and the light is constantly changing.

Is your media preference film or digital?

Digital

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes. I shoot each and every wedding that I book myself!

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

No, I only shoot one wedding per day. Need to change your hours on your wedding day? Not a problem!

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

Yes.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

All weddings have on-line ordering. Packages may have proof magazines or 4x6 proof prints included.

How long can the client keep the proofs?

They are yours to keep.

Will images be available for viewing online?

Yes.

What kind of albums do you offer?

Leather Craftsmen, Zookbinders, Cypress.

When will the client get the final album?

Between 4 - 12 weeks after album design approval. Time varies depending on style of album.

Additional Advice

Digital of Film? There are benefits to both choices. Digital has finally caught up to film in quality, and has lots of additional "perks". Digital photographers can use Photoshop to enhance your wedding photographs with such techniques as hand-tinting (can be done in film too), watercolor, flaw removal, montage, changing images from color to sepia and black and white, and much more. Make sure your photographer has experience, and that their digital camera has a minimum of 8 megapixels. Take a look at their portfolio to see the quality of their prints. Make sure the pictures are clear and well-composed. Both digital and 35 mm formats can capture your wedding day beautifully! The important thing is to make sure you hire someone with great style, an excellent education, quality equipment, and a wonderful personality! Best wishes to you!
