Amazing- we loved it here! MY husband and I looked at several locations before finally deciding to book our ceremony and reception here and boy, were we pleased! We really wanted Mexican food, but it wasn't on their menu... no problem, they custom designed a menu for us! We brought in ideas and gave them our budget and she came back with amazing options, from Chili Verde Enchiladas to Chipotle Salmon! YUM :) All the guests raved about our food and we were thrilled. It was also important to us to have Mexican beers and Margaritas on the rocks, so they stocked the bar accordingly! This place was so accomodating I almost felt bad! The room is the perfect size for about 150, and has great lighting and ambiance. The staff was curteous, professional and awesome! The day-of the manager introduced himself to me, and when the ceremony was over he brought me and my hubby a drink since he knew we would be stuck taking a few more photos- what a sweet heart :) All in all this place is great, they have menus and "packages" but don't be afraid to ask for exactly what you want- they will do thier best to make it happen and give you the most for your money!

I had very mixed feelings when I selected my venue. I really liked the facilities- the outdoor ceremony site, the cute patio for cocktails, and the ballroom with the exposed wood beam ceiling. We didn't want anything pretentious (like some hotel ballrooms feel). Instead we wanted more of a rustic and quaint feel, and this fit our style. I was nervous though because I hadn't known anyone who had held an event there and I couldn't find many reviews. As it turned out, I really didn't need to be nervous at all. Everything went off without a hitch and was just the way we asked. The food was good, the service was good, and everything was smooth and professional. They were also very accommodating about changing things or trading package items. Also, they do only one wedding per day, so you have flexibility with time and don't feel like you're being rushed through a wedding factory. Cathy was my contact there and was very straightforward and no nonsense. That might throw some people off, but I appreciated getting direct answers to my questions. I also could tell that she was very organized. If I told her something once, it was in our file the next time I saw her, and everything was exactly how we wanted without me having to repeat myself. While it may not be the perfect venue for everyone, it was for what I wanted and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We have just signed the contract for our September wedding at Recreation Park. We are doing both the ceremony and reception there. We couldn't beat the price for what was included in the package. I will post as things progress.

My wedding was at Rec Park on 10/7/06. The site was set up beautifully. The staff was nice. The food was great. The only thing that I was unhappy about was that in the contract we were told that sparkling cider would be offered along with champagne for the toast (my mother & step-father do not drink) and that did not happen. I found out after the wedding that they had toasted us with water. But other than that, everything was wonderful.

We decided to go with Rec Park because it was very close to the church and it was within our budget. There were also many things included in the package that made my life much easier. Overall we had a very good experience with this venue, but there were several small issues.
Included in the package was: food, appetizers, 2 hour open bar, linens, set up, clean up, cake, and 5 hours of the room. We added a sixth hour as well. I believe that packages have changed, so be sure to contact them directly.
Between the time we signed the contract and started finalizing details, there was a staffing change and they brought on a new coordinator. We were very pleased with the new lady and she seemed very efficient and organized. I told her what I wanted and she said yes or no. We appreciated her straight forwardness.
Food: The food was excellent. We had Chicken stuffed Chardonnay, roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables. We got many compliments on the food. The cake (Rossmoor pastries) was excellent and exactly as ordered. It looked great.
Bar: We had some complaints (not to us of course, but to others) about the bar tender. He kept leaving to restock because he was running out of things. He was making drinks pretty strong, which our friends appreciated.
My only other complaint with Rec Park was that several things that were supposed to be included in our package were not. We were supposed to have table cameras on each table (included in the package) I put little notes on the tables asking people to take pictures when I was there setting up early in the morning. No cameras were placed on the tables until I expressly asked why they weren’t there when my mom asked where they were. Also, there were supposed to be four votive candles on each table to augment the centerpieces. They were not there. This is something that no one but me really noticed, but is part of the little details that I cared about.
Overall I was very pleased with Rec Park. We had a great time, the room looked great (they have permanently put up silver drapes between chandeliers) and the food was great. If you decide to book with Rec Park, go over all the little details with Cathy to make sure that everything is in how you want it.
