We had a tough time finding a reception site that fit within our budget. Due to a serious illness in the family, our budget was cut drastically. My parents happened to be in Sedona & had lunch here on a suggestion from our wedding coordinators. They raved about the food & when I heard what a neat place it was, I was hooked. It's been around since the early 1900s & part of the bar room was used in "The Rounders" w/ Glen Ford & Henry Fonda. Had dinner there the night before the wedding & the trout was divine. Our menu was set at $27/person & they had a choice of an 8 ounce salmon filet or a 10 ounce prime rib. All plates included fresh veggies, potatoes or rice pilaf & homemade bread. Everyone (nearly 40) got the prime rib, except me. I had the salmon & it was very good. EVERYONE raved about the steak...my husband's friends & family are all from Texas & they said the steak was wonderful. The staff was friendly & helpful & they were able to work out a deal w/ the alcohol so that every table got a certain # of pitchers of beer, but if anyone wanted to have hard liquor, that was out of their pockets. I know everyone says open bar or it's tacky, but when you don't have the $$ to let 40 people drink as much as they want (which we figured would add up to over $8,000), you have to find a solution. We'd looked at other places to have the reception & no one would work w/ us on the alcohol issue. We had a private dining room, which was decorated by the staff & looked lovely. We also had full use of the patio (private for our function) & the bar room. It was a neat, lovely old building w/ lots of character & gave the reception a very intimate feeling. Loved it all. Lana was the manager at the time-lovely woman.

We were treated so well by Laura & her staff. My parents & bridesmaids stopped in for dinner the night before the wedding & were welcomed warmly & given a tour (we lived out of town, so had not been able to do a walk-through yet). We were originally supposed to have our reception in a hotel ballroom, but this place was MUCH more affordable & I'm so happy we chose Relics. We were able to have the entire courtyard area, plus two indoor rooms...the bar/dance area & the dining room. It was decorated beautifully & was just perfect. The restaurant is a historic building & very unique. Plus, the food was out of this world delicious. My husband's family & friends are all from Texas, where steak is huge & they were all raving about the steak. This place rocks.
