Rev. Collins was a huge help to us. We did as much as possible ourselves, and he was there to give advice anytime we asked. He met with us for an "interview", he came out to the dress rehersal and was always helpful, humurous and professional. We feel very fortunate to have had him as our officiant and would reccomend him in a heartbeat!

Asa was a wonderful officiant for our wedding. He has a great deep voice that is loud and perfect for speaking at a ceremony. Since I didn�t have a wedding coordinator, Asa was nice enough to meet with my wedding party the night before to rehearse for the ceremony the next day. I would highly recommend him!

Dr Asa Collins was the perfect person holding the ceremony for us. He made sure we meet up with him beforehand to be able to talk to us and see what is important to us.
He is an amazing person and did and awesome job with our ceremony.

Asa was very wonderful. He asked all the right questions and had all the right answers. He was very perfessional and on time. He also had a great personality. Since he is retired he performs wedding for donations. I would diffinitly recommend Asa.

About Rev. Asa Collins Jr.
Dr. Asa Collins congratulates you on your upcoming wedding. He has officiated at many weddings in the Lake Tahoe/Reno area for 20 years. He is happy to send to your email address four different possible wedding ceremony wordings. Some couples will choose to use one of these in its entirety. Others will take part of one and combine that with parts from others. Couples are welcome to do as they please with these. They are even welcome to make use of these if they choose someone else to officiate. He likes to keep in touch with couples right from the first contact up to the day of the wedding. This helps to avoid being complete strangers at the wedding. It also helps to so plan the wedding that it comes off just the way the couple would like. This could be done in person, by phone or by email. He does not charge a set fee. He likes to let couples decide the amount that they would like to pay. Whatever amount they decide on and hand him after the ceremony is fine with him. He is also ready and willing to help with a wedding rehearsal if that would please the couple. He has done this many many times and it enables the wedding to come off much more smoothly. He is ready to help couples with information on how and where to pick up a marriage license. Some couples have already picked a wedding site and Rev. Collins happily officiates at a the place of the couples choosing (provided that it is within a one hour drive of Incline Village, Nevada). Other couples appreciate a recommendation from him of a wedding site. Some of these are places do not charge a fee for their use even though they might be located at a place with a magnificent view of the mountains and the lake. You can see below here a picture of such a place just five minutes away from Incline Village, Lake Tahoe. This place charges no fee because it is located on U.S. Forest Service land. It is very rare that any people are around this place because of its obscure location. Rev. Collins would be happy to give directions or lead the way to this site with the wedding party following. If the ceremony is elsewhere couples could go here with their phorographer before or after the ceremony for pics. If requested, he can recommend a professional photographer that will provide a package that is within the financial wishes of the couple. What religious affiliations do you serve?
Christian (no denomination), Christian - Presbyterian, Evangelical
Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?
Yes
Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
yes
What is your attire for the ceremony?
if the groom is in a tux the minister will wear a black robe. if the groom is less formal the minister will wear a dark suit & tie
Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?
Yes - it is THEIR wedding and not mine!
Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?
Yes and if they want suggestions I will provide these if they request such.
Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?
Yes I have a long list that I can provide them but they are not required to use these.
How long are your ceremonies?
As long as the couple want and if they want solos and readings they are longer but the average is about 15 minutes.
Do you require that premarital counseling be done?
It would be great if they had premarital counseling but I do not require it.
Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?
Yes, I have done this many many times.
Do you supply a sound system?
no but I am ready and willing to cooperate with a DJ. I am good at projecting my voice volume if required.

A Yes (If the wedding is to be in Nevada the officiant must be by Nevada law a resident of NV and I am.)
