Hilary was amazing. My wife and I could tell the moment we met her that she was the one we wanted to work with. She is so completely sincere that we felt like she was an old friend. It was evident from the beginning that she truly loves what she does and was vested in ensuring that our experience was great not because it was her business to, but because she enjoys making couples happy and appreciates the union of marriage. She was thorough in her initial consultations and open minded to the direction we wanted our ceremony to go. She was full of ideas when there were things we were unsure of and always made sure that we knew that she was a ready and willing resource for us if we ever needed it. (She even helped point us in the direction of a string quartet and gave sound equipment advice...truly an officiant of all trades :) Also, she made sure that we dove deep into the counseling sessions, which uncovered some very useful tools that I know will help foster a much more healthy marriage for the two of us even though we didn't initially see much value in them. I would highly recommend Hilary, it was almost like having a second wedding planner. Thank you for your patience, diligence, and for helping make our ceremony the memorable day that everyone hopes for.

Hilary officiated our wedding ceremony, December 2, 2005. She did an amazing job and we couldn't have asked for anything more. She made it her mission to truly get to know us and make our ceremony accurately represent us, as a couple. Naomi and I have the honor of being the first couple that Hilary married. As an interfaith couple with families from very different religious, geographical and cultural backgrounds, Hilary helped Naomi and I create a wedding that was both spiritually meaningful and comfortable for us and our loved ones. Congratulations on your engagement! I offer weddings for all. I was ordained in the United Church of Christ in 2002, a progressive, open and affirming denomination. As a pastor for over 8 years, I officiated numerous weddings for diverse couples. My first wedding in 1999 was for an interfaith couple. Now I am an independent, "interspiritual" wedding officiant, helping GLBTQ and straight couples get married or celebrate their union. I work best with couples who have a spiritual, but non woo-wooey, inclination. I also work best with couples who appreciate the background in theater acting and directing that I bring to wedding ceremony planning and officiating.
