Julie Price was absolutely amazing. She was genuine, professional, and just a great Officiant. She gave my husband and I everything we wanted out of our ceremony and more! She had great ideas and influence on our ceremony and it flowed perfectly. I couldn't recommend her more, she is the best!

The ceremony was something that was really important for me and my husband for our wedding, and we were challenged by the fact that we were living across country as we planned our wedding, and neither of us had current church ties in the DC area. We were worried we might end up with an impersonal, less meaninful, ceremony.

But then, we found Julie.

I can't tell you how many compliments we've gotten on our ceremony. Seriously, most of our guests have told us that it was the most beautiful ceremony they've seen, highly meaningful, and there wasn't a dry eye afterward. Julie was a joy to work with (over Skype!), and helped us strike a balance that satisfied our different religious backgrounds.

We were initially unsure whether to do the Marriage Prep series, but decided to do it in the end--and I can't recommend it enough! It was a great forum for Julie to get to know us as a couple, and that translated to a very personal and meaningful ceremony. We truly felt that we were married by someone who knew us as a couple. The marriage prep series is not counseling. We had a strong relationship already, but the marriage prep series was an excellent forum for discussing some really important relationship topics, and we feel it made our relationship even stronger.

After reading a bunch of reviews that said how great she was, we had to meet her. She was the PERFECT officiant for us. She was warm and friendly, super responsive, open to all of our requests, full of useful advice... (see, perfect?) We were dealing with a few big challenges that made us a bit a-traditional. We knew that the vast majority of our guests (well, and us!) had never been to a gay wedding -- so we wanted to make sure everyone felt comfortable. Also, we don't live anywhere near DC, so we needed to work remotely with Julie. Finally, my partner and I had been together for 10 years, so we wanted to acknowledge that. Julie did all of this!

Julie is so organized and calmingly sane. :-) She uses a really awesome workbook to help you plan your ceremony. On the day of, she spends time going around and talking to everyone involved so that things run smoothly (great for us, especially, as we didn't do a rehearsal!)

Seriously, everyone commented on how amazing she was. She's sincere, good humored, and she can project without a mic (hurray!)

We used Rev. Julie Price as our officiant for an outdoor ceremony at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, and she was superb. Before the wedding, she met with us on multiple occasions, provided a handy guide as to various options for our ceremony, and had us answer some questions so that she could better get to know us and personalize the ceremony. We felt comfortable every step of the way with Julie. (We had met with a couple other potential officiants, both highly-rated on weddingwire, who simply didn't cut it -- one clearly provided too cookie-cutter a ceremony and the other was a little too corny.) Many of our guests raved about Julie's ceremony, and rightfully so. She was personable, friendly, and projected perfectly -- no need for a microphone, even though we were outdoors. We couldn't have been happier with our selection.

Julie was the first and only officiant we met with and after our first meeting, we knew that she'd be the perfect person to marry us! (Her awesome reviews on Wedding Wire helped, too!) My husband is Jewish and I am Catholic, so we wanted a non-denomenational ceremony, but incorporating elements from both religions as well. Julie gave us a ceremony workbook to use as a guide when writing the ceremony, as well as a book full of readings/prayers/passages to choose from to incorporate. Unfortunately, on our wedding day, it rained pretty hard right before the ceremony. We had wanted everything outside, and our wedding coordinator looked at the radar and told us we had about a 30-40 minute window where the skies looked clear if we wanted to keep the ceremony outside. Julie didn't blink an eye - she cut a few extras out of the ceremony and quickly married us. Although our ceremony was quicker than planned, it still flowed well and didn't seem as though she cut anything out at all. Her marriage address was beautiful & made me cry. At the end of the ceremony, we felt as if we had known Julie for years! She is the sweetest person and I very highly recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant. Thank you so much Julie!!

Julie was great. We received many compliments on the personal touches she added to our ceremony. I haven't been to many weddings and I had no idea about how the ceremony should run, but Julie was very organized and helpful throughout the planning process. If you have not booked your officiant - BOOOK JULIE!! We cannot tell you how many compliments we've gotten on the ceremony - and truly how much WE loved it. My husband and I opted for a small intimate ceremony followed by a large party - and literally, those who attended the ceremony made those who did not jealous - so much so that we had to share the wedding ceremony video!! (And how many times have people slept thorough a wedding ceremony??) - not ours!!

Julie made the entire ceremony seem as though we had known her all of our lives and it was just so touching and meaningful. She truly spends a great deal of time getting the ceremony perfect for exactly what WE wanted. She has a fantastic ceremony "book" that my hubby and I got to look through, pick out our favorite parts, and amend anything we wanted. This was easily done at 2 face to face meetings and some emails. She really takes all the stress out of "planning" the wedding as she really is a professional who has it all ready for whomever wants to get married. There were SO many options - from us who are young and in our first marraige, to options for ceremonies with children, ceremonies with blended families, ceremonies with loved ones who had passed on -- you name it, she has a way to make it unique for YOU.

She also was SO easy at making changes at the last minute - as well as keeping special secret surprises held. My husbands family were flying in as a surprise and I had emailed Julie to let her know that we would be changing the ceremony to include them but that we'd need a "fake draft" for my husband to look at and OK - she was SO easy and accomodating. At our final meeting - while hubby was getting us all drinks, she and I worked out the details, and it was perfect. Not to mention the day of changes when his father surprised BOTH of us by showing up. Nothing threw Julie - she was changing anything and everything to make it perfect on the spot.

Truly, the ceremony was SO beautiful and it was all Julie! We have even talked about renewing our vows every 10 years and that we HAVE to have Julie as our officiant because she really made our wedding SO special. THANK YOU JULIE!!!

She provides multiple text options for each section which each couple selects. Julie is also very flexible and will let you change the text to better suit your style. When my husband and I first started looking for an officiant for our August outdoor wedding, we knew we wanted to find someone who could really tailor a ceremony to our relationship and personalities. Julie did exactly that.

Our first "getting to know you" conversation with Julie unfortunately had to be over the phone since we live in Chicago and would get married in Virginia - but that didn't stop us from really getting a great vibe from Julie. She really wants the bride and groom to have exactly the ceremony they want, and is extremely personable and easy to work with. Julie's workbook has beautiful selections, and she's great at mixing and matching to make it your own. Julie is also very flexible - we had to change our reading a week before the wedding (due to loss of a family member) and she was so helpful in finding a new one and being incredibly supportive.

We only spent a few actual days with Julie in person, but she was wonderful and made our ceremony so special. It felt like we had known her forever. We are so pleased that Juli Wilson-Black officiated our ceremony! When we met with Juli for the first time, we knew that we wanted her to be our officiant. We were looking for an officiant who would be willing to perform a non-religious ceremony, and Julie was simply the best! She offered a variety of readings for each section of the wedding and offered valuable advice when we weren't sure what would work best. We hired Reverend Julie to officiate our October 2009 wedding. We absolutely loved Julie from our very first meeting! She was very professional and responsive from the beginning. We liked that we had lots of freedom to organize our ceremony exactly the way we wanted so that it would be unique to me and my fiance. I thought Julie's ceremony workbook was extremely helpful, as it gave us examples and ideas for the ceremony, but didn't limit the creativity for things that we wanted to include. She encourages you to add/change things to make your wedding as unique as possible. I thought she did an excellent job during the ceremony. Julie was fabulous, she made the ceremony creation process so easy...I had no idea what to expect or how much work I would have to do. Julie provided us with a ceremony workbook, which I've saved, that included different verbiage styles for each section of the ceremony. All we had to do was read the different styles and pick one! All of the different selections were so good that picking one seemed to be the hardest part of the whole process! It really was so easy and by the time we got to the ceremony portion of wedding planning I was extremely grateful to have found someone who matched our personal style and knew what she was doing. It was a load off and an easy check mark on the list. We planned our ceremony in an a day...aside from us writing our own vows which took me a little bit :)

Julie was such an amazing officiant! She meets with you ahead of time to figure out exactly what you want your ceremony to be like, and has a ceremony workbook that is totally customizable. We wanted a ceremony that was spiritual but not necessarily religious and were very happy with what we wound up with. We also added in a family blessing of the rings that she had not done before and she was very accommodating with that as well. On the day of the wedding she was calm and professional and her words and voice carry a lot of power and emotion. We had several people come up to us afterward and ask if we knew her personally, because the service was so individualized. One friend liked Julie so much that she is trying to see if she can get her to travel to Mexico for her destination wedding!!!

Rev. Julie Price was an incredibly professional, warm, and personable officiant. She was very organized, and wanted to get to know us as a couple even during our initial meeting. I appreciated how flexible she was in the ceremony content we wanted, and she was able to move her schedule around to suit a better meeting location as we were car-less. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, a wedding took place next door to ours at the same time (we were outside). Rev. Price did a great job of keeping everyone's focus on OUR ceremony and was really a calming presence when I was freaking out. Her voice carried really well and she was amazing at directing us discreetly during the ceremony (although we were well-prepared since she went through everything with us during our final meeting).

So many of my relatives have commented on Rev. Price and wanted to know how I found her. I would definitely not hesitate a second to recommend her to a friend or anyone. Rev. Julie Price did an amazing job of officiating our wedding. Since my husband and I live in California and were planning a wedding in Virginia, we could not have a face-to-face meeting with Rev. Julie Price officiated our wedding last month, and she was a true joy to work with. I can't think of enough good things to say about Rev. Julie Price. I happened upon her while searching through theknot.com, and it was the best find I have ever had through the internet! She is warm and friendly; she responds quickly to calls and e-mails; she is open-minded and genuinely cares about crafting a unique and loving ceremony. We had several in-person meetings with her, and we never felt rushed or uncomfortable. In fact, she bought us a bottle of wine at our last meeting when we told her how stressed we were!

Julie is obviously experienced as a wedding officiant, and she made many helpful suggestions for us as we were putting the ceremony together. On the actual day, Rev. Price came into both our dressing rooms to check on us, sign the marriage license, and get the paperwork done right away. She greeted me with a big hug and smile, which was very comforting! And, no joke, but my now-husband and I had several people approach us afterwards and ask us about her. They were amazed that we weren't old friends! She was very patient and honest in answering all our questions during the first meeting; my husband and I are from different faiths and we wanted a more spiritual than religious ceremony. Julie made us feel comfortable and at ease right away about our choice, and she genuinely expressed a desire to get to know us as a couple, which was particularly important to us. We had a small, family wedding of just over 50 guests, and we wanted our ceremony to be an intimate and personal experience for us and our guests. Julie was so flexible with our every desire for the ceremony; I was free to edit/delete/add specifics of the ceremony until we got it just right. The end result was a ceremony that we were really proud of and couldn't wait to share with our loved ones. The big day arrived, and the ceremony was perfection! We received many compliments from our guests about how wonderful Julie's words and delivery were and how the ceremony seemed tailor-made for my husband and me - it was truly our dream come true!
