Lori is an amazing person and officiant! She is very understanding, flexible and easy to work with. She was completely open to basically custom make our ceremony so that it felt just like "ours". Her warmth and love of her profession made our ceremony so special. Almost all of our guests praised her work during the reception - she's a star! Thank you so much for being a part of our big day, Lori!

The officiant was friendly and polite. He arrived on time, greeted the guests, and even helped set up for the wedding. He really went over and beyond what he was supposed to do. Running back and forth making sure things were running smoothly. I wasn't really sure whether or not we should have gotten an officiant but I was wrong. He really impressed me and I wouldn't know how we could have gotten through our wedding day without him. Thanks again and highly recommend!

About Loving Celebrations

We, Lori Levisen & Bob Waegell, are Sacramento Area Wedding Officiants who truly enjoy co-creating, with the bridal couple, celebrations that reflect their love; celebrations that reach out to embrace & include their community of friends & family.

We have been performing weddings since 2003 and once you meet with either one or both of us for an informational interview, you'll be able to choose who you'll work with to co-create your ceremony. As you will find out, we work differently but we both take our jobs seriously, and consider it an honor to be chosen.

While Bob does have a small stone fruit orchard, performing weddings is our primary business, so we're more available to our clients. Lori has an old friend who has given her the nickname of "Last Minute Lori" because of her willingness to perform ceremonies within a few hours of the initial call. Last minute ceremonies is only a small part of Lori's business, but she does enjoy the spontaneous weddings and the surprise Vow Renewals as much as weddings that have taken months to plan.

We've performed ceremonies in private back yards and at country clubs, in restaurants, winery's, and in parks. And while we primarily serve the greater Sacramento area, I used to live in Santa Cruz and love to return to visit old friends. We do travel to other areas based upon your travel budget and our availability.

What officiant services do you provide?

Civil Union, Interfaith Ceremony, Non-religious Ceremony, Single Religion Ceremony

What religious affiliations do you serve?

Agnostic, Christian (no denomination)

Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?

Most of the weddings we do are at non-religious sites.

What is your attire for the ceremony?

Bob wears a black suit, white shirt and tie. Lori generally wears a black dress. If there is a theme to the wedding attire, we dress in accordance with the theme, whenever possible.

Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?

Absolutely!

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?

Yes. We actually encourage this and we offer some sample vows that they can use to kick-start their own writing.

Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?

No, we have readings and poems available should they request some samples but they are free to find their own readings. We do request to see the readings early enough to make the overall ceremony consistent with it.

How long are your ceremonies?

15 to 30 minutes - depending on what sub-ceremonies, such as the unity candle, sand blending, rose exchange, or wine box, etc. are included.

Do you require that premarital counseling be done?

No, but we do hope that all of the choices that will need to be made to create a wedding and its ceremony stimulate communication and cooperative decisions about important things like money and children.

Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?

Yes.

Do you supply a sound system?

Not at this time. Generally, your DJ or musicians will provide the officiant's microphone. Sound systems can also be rented, but be sure you get good instructions on how to set the system up before you leave the rental store.
