Rev. Ray Van Winkle & Associates

I was deployed when my wife set up the meetings with Rev Van Winkle. I didn't officially meet him till my wedding service. Very professional and felt like I known him for a while.

Everything went off w/out a hitch! Great job!

My, now husband, and I were recommended to Rev. Ray by a co-worker of mine. We had e-mailed and called a few other officiants that we found online but they were either WAY over priced and were going to charge us for everything but a "Hello" (and if they could I know they would), or they did not believe in equality as my husband and I do. Ray was inexpensive and he does - we were nearly sold on that alone. Then we met Ray.
Ray was...after the food the best part of our wedding. He was inexpensive ($350 and no travel fees), funny, professional, and understood what we wanted. I am a VERY detail oriented person, and very hands on. His style of ceremony is...YOU make it. He e-mailed us a ceremony book and we made our ceremony. That was PERFECT for us - that alone made me want to give him the check right then and there. And we did by the end of the meeting.
At rehearsal he met us 15 minutes early to make sure everything on the marriage certificate was accurate and to go over some details of our ceremony, and to make sure everything was correct before the rehearsal actually began. During so he was funny, charismatic, engaging, and overall a blast to work with.
Day of...wow. He helped to calm me down (and from what I heard helped the other side calm down too! For the ceremony he was fantastic! He made the entire ceremony go off with a breeze - it was perfect.
I would, and have, recommended Rev. Ray Van Winkle to any bride I know looking for an officiant. He was, besides the food, the best part of our day. He was fantastic! And you know what? So were we.

Reverend Van Winkle gave us exactly what we wanted, as a same sex couple from Ohio we were at a loss on how to exactly do things. My partner and I said "our do's" under the Space Needle. After 20 years together the State of Washington allowed our Love for eachother to be recognized. Reverend Van Winkle understood this significance and milestone in our relationship. He was light hearted,comfortable and made us feel at ease about something we never thought could happen. Thank you Reverend Van Winkle and the fine people of Washington State for giving us the only thing we were never able to say...I do !

Rev. Ray was wonderful for our wedding! He was very professional and has his stuff together! We received many, many compliments from our guests regarding his presence. He is a little pricey, compared to others we met with, but was worth the extra money!

We really loved that he had a booklet of options to choose from, which was really convenient for us to use to personalize our ceremony. Ray was very professional, prompt, and easy to work with. We didn't have a rehearsal and he guided everyone perfectly through the ceremony. He has a good 'presence', strong voice, and presented the ceremony beautifully. My mother-in-law even remarked at how well he performed the ceremony. What is there to say, but this guy is down to earth and is very professional. He was able to do everything we wanted and at and very reasonable price. Wow! We were so impressed by reverend Ray when he officiated my sister's wedding last fall, that we asked him to officiate ours about a month ago. Ray is very attentive and wants to make your ceremony as personal as possible and puts the time into getting to know you as a couple! It was truly a pleasure to work with Rev. Van Winkle. When we contacted him our wedding day was only a month away, but he graciously agreed to squeeze us in despite already having booked other weddings that day.

When we met him we were immediately impressed by his professionalism, his ideas and recommendations for the ceremony, and perhaps best of all, his sense of humor. We had our wedding at the Lake Union Café, and Ray was on the preferred vendors list. Ray made a great first impression on us. He was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated that he said he was able to make our wedding as religious or secular as we would like it to be. Once we booked, Ray sent us a booklet of many options for the different parts of the ceremony. We were able to reword, add, or change things as we saw fit. Once my fiancé and I read through the booklet, it was very easy to put our ceremony together. Ray was responsive to all my email inquiries as we planned the ceremony and details of the rehearsal. The ceremony was absolutely perfect. Ray did a great job with his audible, clear voice. He quietly whispered reminders to us during the wedding ceremony to help us through as we forgot a couple things from the rehearsal. At the beginning of the ceremony, Ray had us turn around and face our family members as he welcomed our guests. This was such a wonderful moment for my husband and me to look at all the faces of the people who love and support us. After the wedding, many of our friends and family members commented on how much they liked the ceremony itself because they could hear everything so well, and they thought it was simply beautiful. Rev. Ray was wonderful from first meeting to the big day. He made us feel very comfortable with everything. He provides a wide variety of variations / selections for your ceremony that you can take out or personalize however you see fit. The rehearsal went great and smooth, as well as the wedding- everyone was raving about our speedy cute heartfelt ceremony that Ray provided! He is priced so good, he really should charge more for the quality we recieved! :)

Rev. Ray is one of the warmest people I have ever met. Upon our first meeting we felt right at home talking to him and knew he would be the right person to marry us. He gives great materials and guidance for building a personal ceremony and is very flexible to include personal touches so that our wedding ceremony was truly unique to us. He can roll with unexpected changes (like our ring bearer needing an emergency potty break during the ceremony) without skipping a beat . We are so happy that we had him marry us and strongly recommend his services to anyone looking for an officiant.

Rev. Van Winkle helped my husband and I every step of the way with our wedding. He was very open to contacting our families and filling them in on details as well. We are noth active duty military and had to throw together a wedding in 4 months and one of the only things we didn't have to worry about was that Rev. Van Winkle was totally organized and on time for everything.

Revend Ray was an amazing officiant, and I'm so glad we chose him to conduct our ceremony. He's incredibly prompt with replies, and very detail oriented. Professionalism mixed with the perfect amount of warmth and friendliness! He conducted our rehearsal smoothly the night before, and was on top of things the day of our wedding. Rev. Ray is the best, and clearly knows what he's doing! Our rehearsal went so smoothly even though the groom-to-be (ahem!) was about 20 minutes late because of a flat-tire. He made us feel so at ease with the whole process, and has great charisma in front of a crowd. Highly recommend!

We first heard Reverend Ray officiate at one of our friend's wedding ceremony. He did an excellent job and we thought we would give him a try for our wedding. We met with Reverend Ray and it didn't take long for us to decide, he was warm, friendly and organized. My Husband and I agreed that he was the perfect choice for our wedding. We wanted to incorporate Filipino traditions in to our wedding and he was well prepared and had everything we needed to do so. Reverend Ray provides a very thorough ceremony book that allows you to customize the ceremony to reflect you as a couple. He conducted our rehearsal and helped it run very smoothly. Ray was so great for me and my husband, he was always so humble and made the atmosphere so comfortable especially in the stress of all the wedding planning. Ray is amazing! He helped make our wedding day perfect. He has a presence that every wedding needs. He helped our rehearsal run smoothly and kept the ceremony light hearted and all about us. Reverend Ray has a very positive vibe and we enjoyed working with him. My Husband and I wanted a short, but religous, wedding. When we put together our ceremony he was able to give us an est. ceremony length and it turned out exacly how we wanted. Our wedding day was about 70 degrees and bright. All of our guests were glad it was short too! He is very helpful with all types of weddings. When you book him he gives you an online book of what a ceremony is broken up into and has lots of different selections for each. eg., intro, vows, rings, prayer, etc. He gave lots of helful pointers and reminders at the rehearsal to help the ceremony run smoothly. Although he was a little late to our rehearsal, he showed up early to our wedding and went over cues with our DJ for when to play and switch songs for entering and exiting the "aisle" at our outdoor wedding. He is very affordable and does a terrific job for what he charges compared to a lot of officiants out there. He responds to emails and phone calls quickly. I would reccomend him to anyone including family and friends looking for an offiant. We were very pleased to work with him and have him as our officiant.

After many interviews with different Officiates we were happy to of found Rev. Ray Van Winkle, He was very personable, warm and listened well, and had many great ideas that made our wedding day as special as it could be, he was very professional and courteous as he guided our guests and ourselves through a very stressful day and turned it into a joyous occasion. I would highly recommend him for anyone’s wedding officiate.

We booked Rev. Van Winkle, after meeting him, and decided that we really liked him. However, when it came time for our rehersal, he was supposed to be there an hour, and he rushed us to start, and then only went over everything once. He also showed up 20 minutes before our wedding ceremony, when we specifically asked him to be early because there were people that could not be at the rehersal. We were only just satisfied with him - I have not and will not recommend him to my friends.

ray was great. easy, quick, simple. you have to do a little work on your part but you get what you pay for. i would recommend rev. ray esp. if you are non-denominational. he makes the wedding ceremony fun too.

Having Rev. Ray as part of our ceremony was one of the best parts of our wedding day. Rev. Ray Van Winkle was amazing. My husband and I instantly liked him: he was happy, easygoing, and best of all: calming. He was very easy to reach and would quickly respond to any questions we had. We were able to keep our ceremony light and short, but Rev. Ray could have very easily made it longer or more religious. I really can't say enough good things about this officiant, he is definitely someone I would recommend to any of my friends!

Rev. Ray ROCKS! He has a great upbeat personality that just makes you smile. He always made us feel at ease. He sends you a book on the breakdown of the ceremony and examples of what can be said in each one. It was very helpful in writing our ceremony. He is very flexible in what ever we wanted to have done.He was there at the rehearsal and was fast and efficient.

He knew what to do for the veil and cord ceremony and was very good about slyly adjusting the veil during the ceremony when our veil sponsor did it wrong. He sounded very sincere during the ceremony, it never felt like he was just reading from his book. When I was crying and couldn't remember what he had just said for me to repeat he made a joke that made me and everyone laugh. Our ceremony was memorable and touching all with the help of Ray!

My husband and I were overwhelmed and clueless about figuring out what should be said for our vows. Reverend Ray provided a book of examples that broke the ceremony down into small sections and we could pick and choose whatever parts we liked or we could create something completely different. He was very flexible, prompt, and worked well with other vendors.

Reverend Ray was great! He offered us so many options on our ceremony that it really was a custom event. He made us feel comfortable from the start, and he did a wonderful job.

Rev. Ray is exceptionally personable and professional. We trusted his judgment and relied completely on his expertise for all aspects of our ceremony. He provided an extensive format with a variety of options for each segment of the ceremony. We reviewed the options, chose a basic format and modified it to create our personalized ceremony. With a brief rehearsal, Rev. Ray clearly and concisely prepared us to follow his guidance throughout our ceremony which was perfect.

Ray was the perfect officiant for us. His professionalism was outstanding, he provided a very helpful ceremony guide for us to design our wedding ceremony. He called us to schedule a rehearsal, we didn't have to call him!! He spent time with our families at the rehearsal to make everyone comfortable, and to top it all off he has a great voice!

Reverend Ray Van Winkle was wonderful, he married us in July 2009 and we still get compliments on his service. A friend of mine actually used him for her wedding a few months later. He has a great voice and didn’t even need to use a microphone; he lays the service out really simple for you so you can pick how you want each part of the wedding to go. I will continue to recommend him to any friends who plan to get married in the future.

If you are at all questioning who should officiate your ceremony, just go with Ray! He will completely customize your ceremony to fit your needs and personalities. The ceremony will be a true reflection of you, and he is more than happy to help out. During the time of our wedding, Ray had a family emergency but was still able to perform an amazing ceremony and come through for us. We would recommend him to anyone, whether you want a religious ceremony or non-denominational!

Rev. Ray Van Winkle was an amazing officiant! We were a bit nervous about the ceremony because we didn't have time to meet him before hand, we did talk to him over the phone and he was much more knowledgeable about what people usually liked to have at their ceremony than we did. He even had different outlines of possible ceremony verbiage he usually uses, which we could use in our own ceremony and edit to our liking or using something of our own. It was really nice to have options and guidance throughout the process. The rehearsal ran so smoothly, and he went over any details that I wasn't quite sure of as many times as we needed. The day of the ceremony, some people couldn't quite find our venue, so we changed the start of the ceremony to half an hour later. We also had a problem figuring out how to pin on the boutonnieres and luckily his wife was in the floral business, so he had experience with them. Rev. Ray was so professional and helpful, and a great value-since the ceremony was in Seattle, we didn't even have to pay for transportation! Over all, his services are a great value, he is a great person, and I would definitely recommend him to others!

Reverand Ray was fantastic!!!

Neither my husband and I are very religious, but we wanted a ceremony with religious overtones that was classic and romantic. Reverand Ray listened to us and our needs, and performed the perfect ceremony for my husband and I.

In addition, as he does so many weddings, Reverand Ray is very responsive and organized. He was always punctual, professional and organized with names. Our whole wedding party was very impressed and everyone knew where to be/what to say and when, easing tension and anxiety. He effortlessly controlled the procession without appearing he was ever "in charge" or overbearing.

Rev. Ray Van Winkle married my husband and I on June 27th 2009 at Lake Union Cafe. He did a wonderful job and we couldn't have picked a better person for something so important. Reverand Ray Van Winkle was great. We planned our entire service from Atlanta with him being in Seattle. He allowed us to tailor make the service to our liking and was very helpful in the process. For planning from 2500 miles he made it so simple. I wouldhighly recommedn him to anyone.

Rev. Ray was extremely professional, kind, and fun to work with. We loved the wordings from his collection and his voice, and and truly enjoyed the wonderful ceremony and his service during our small, intimate wedding.

After not being able to be married in my Church, we found Rev. Ray by accident on his website...What a perfect choice! He was immediately at our service as we discussed our hopes for the ceremony and desire to have my Dad (who is a Deacon) participate as much as possible. Rev. Ray had absolutely NO problem with this, worked together with us and my Dad, they switched off duties throughout, and let us have free reign (of course with all of his helpful ceremony options, wording, etc) so that our wedding was EXACTLY what we wanted! He threw in a little humor when we requested it, He was dressed in perfect attire for our day, and our ceremony, he was detailed, concerned that he matched his suit and tie with our colors, etc, etc. It was a beautiful and touching service.

Absolutely one of the best vendors we spent our money on! Revered Ray is hands down, the best Seattle officiant. He was flexible with what we wanted and helped us design our very own ceremony. We booked him at our first meeting, right on the spot. He is very warm, friendly, and funny. He made us feel like we could do anything we wanted for our ceremony. I love how he provided a binder of all things wedding ceremony related and let us plan our ceremony. He is also very inexpensive compared with other Seattle officiants. We had some special things we wanted to do and he provided us with examples so it was easier for us to decide. We were able to write our own vows, which both brought us to tears. Reverend Ray listened to what we want, and adhered to all of our requests. He tailored the service to reflect who we are as a couple - and really put feeling into it. We only met a couple of times, but he conveyed such warmth and support and humour - just what we hoped!

He was very flexible - I wrote my own vows, but my husband didn't want to - it was a flawless incorporation of both and no pressure to do anything we weren't comfortable with.

His respect of us, and genuine happiness for us was everything we hoped.

Ray was wonderful! Very accepting of what we wanted for our wedding and a moving speaker. Our only complaint would be that he booked our wedding a little too close to the next one, as this didn't allow for the unexpected. Our wedding ended up being delayed as most of our guests were stuck in traffic from a major accident. We ended up having to just do the ceremony with very few guest there, so he could be on time for his next wedding.

Rev. Ray Van Winkle is one of my favorite wedding officate's in the area.
