Reversed Lens Photography

From looking at our wedding photos, one could hardly tell that the jam-packed, three-day affair was arranged in merely six weeks. On the second night of festivities, while waiting to make my grand entrance, I was pondering how much we'd accomplished. Everything looked just perfect. Only the lovely Portland weather couldn't decide if it wanted to rain or not. I looked out the window to see Will put down his camera to haul tables in out of the drizzle, only to pull them back out from the tent moments later, when the sky cleared up. Will, Em, and the rest of the Reversed Lens Photography crew, will not only capture your special moments in an artful way, they are thoughtful, quick on their feet, highly intuitive, and politely persuasive. With really no guidance at all, they discerned every important Indian tradition to capture, determined which ginormous gaggle of people comprised my family and inner circle and beautifully photographed all of them including my dog. They made my photos a treasure. For a special event, they seriously warrant your consideration.

RLP was our first choice for photographers. We liked their work, but were unable to come up with a price that seemed reasonable. The prints cost WAY more than we were willing to pay (especially knowing how much prints ACTUALLY cost.) We ended up losing our deposit, as we didn’t end up feeling confident in them or their costs. We also wouldn’t actually have proofs without waiting for several years, or pay a huge amount for them to do the prints. Though their work was very lovely, it wasn’t going to fit our budget.

RLP takes pretty good pictures, but their customer service skills are a bit lacking. They charge a reasonable price, but their packages do not include books or prints. And a CD of the digital images is a lot extra. Their attitude at the wedding was sub par. They complained to my husband about things out of our control during the reception. Also they complained when my mom wanted a group photo of her family. They made us feel bad for asking for the digital files. We were very upfront saying we only wanted the digital images on a CD and that we wouldn’t be purchasing a book or prints from them. When we went for our viewing, they complained about things from the wedding again. We almost walked out of the meeting. They have no tact. We haven’t received our CD of images yet. We had great experiences with them until the actually wedding. We aren’t sure what happened or where it went wrong, but we would never recommend them to our family or friends. Its unfortunate because they are talented people. They just need to learn how to interact with customers/clients on a better level.

Not enough can be said about Will and Emma and their work. Just because someone has a really cool camera isn't the reason to hire a photographer. What Reversed Lens Photography brings to the table is their years of experience, their attention to detail, and their ability to be a part of the moment, and accurately capture it for a memory. It takes the right light, the right setting, and the right moment to make a great picture, and Reversed Lens Photography has been capturing those moments for years.
