We had the great pleasure of working with Rudy from Rhythm N Ritmo for our wedding. I hired him based on reviews. He offered a variety of packages, I picked one that fit my needs for my party size. I like to follow schedules and he is very organized. I handed him a complete schedule of what songs to play, what order and when and actually played all of them in the order I requested. He was able to accomodate song requests from my guests on the spot which made them and me real happy. They are still talking about it!!

We are so happy we found Rhythm N Ritmo on the web, hiring them was best decision ever!!!

I had hired DJ Rudy for work-related parties in the past and as I was googling bilingual DJs and saw Rhythm & Ritmo's name come up I knew he would be perfect for our post-wedding party. My husband and I got married in Vegas and then came back to throw a celebration in NYC for extended family/friends etc. My husband's side of the family is Dominican and get togethers always include lots of bachata and merengue though neither of us felt confident putting that part of the playlist together. DJ Rudy totally came through! We wanted it to be more of a party than a formal reception and he gave us exactly what we wanted. He also saved us in the face of our last minute slideshow debacle and helped make the whole occasion much less stressful. We were so happy we went with Rhythm & Ritmo :)

We are a dancing family so music was very important at my reception. The music was great!!! Special requests were welcomed and it was usually the very next song played. Rudy was great to work with. He put me at ease at our very first meeting. Special props provided at the reception fit perfectly with the music and everyone absolutely loved it! Everyone commented on what an amazing night it was. I danced every single song!!! We all did!!

Rudy was a wonderful DJ. He really to the time to get to know my husband and I which really helped in choosing music that was comfortable for both sides of the family. He was easy to get a hold of and quick to respond. He helped make our wedding day special and helped us throw a wonderful wedding. I would recommend Rudy's service to anyone planning an event. He was especially perfect for our event being that it was bilingual. Any announcement he made was in both English and Spanish and was well spoken in both languages. Rudy was Great!

What music genres are in your collection?

50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Big Band, Classic Rock, Classical, Country, Dance, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, Pop, Punk Rock, R&B, Rock, Soul

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Describe your DJ style:

Latin and American music tastefully blended. Usually played from YOUR custom list. We also beat mix just like you hear on the radio.

Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?

No but you may want to consider a few "must play" since most receptions are 4 to 5 hours.

What is your usual attire?

Tuxedo, suit or as client wishes. Never, jeans and sneakers.

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?

No. We make every effort to have the music the client requests. We require a meeting 1 month prior to the event to make sure that the music will be there the day of the event.

How many other DJs do you work with?

I work with 2 to 3 other DJ's. Most of the time they are looking for me to MC since they are not biligual. However, I network with as many local DJs as possible and also belong to the American DJ Association in case of an emergency.

What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?

The minimum for any reception should be 4 hours.

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?

Yes. We would have at least 2 meeting prior to the event. You will always deal with the owner and he will also be present at your reception.

Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?

None currently.

Can the client submit a do-not-play list?

Absolutely. We want to make sure your reception is one that you will remember for a lifetime.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes. Only Professional DJ equipment. Back-up equipment is on hand and running all the time.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?

Laser, smoke, lighting, photo montage, plasmas, uplighting.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?

A minimum an hour is the norm. We do require at least one 6 foot table.

Do you have any extra space requirements?

Depends on the amount of service the client has chosen. If you choose to have us provide you with club lighting or and 8 x 10 foot screen, we will need a little more room to set up and for you and your guest to enjoy.

Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?

No banners at wedding events. Only if the client wants to go with a "personalized" gobo will there be anything projected.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?

I interact as much or as little as the client request. No more, no less. Tasteful and not overbearing.

How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?

We can start with an annyversary/couples dance perhaps and take it from there.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

No we do not take any breaks. Although appreciated, its not mandatory for you to provide us a meal. Please understand that we leave 3 to 4 hours before the event start time.

Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?

If you do provide a meal, you will still have continous music thoughout the event except when the toast or special dedication is going on.

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

First is to contact my DJ and make arragements but my mission is to be there at every function. My track record is 1 absentee due to an operation. I also use the back up system of the American DJ Association. This system back is 24/7 365 days a year.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?

No we do not. We take care of one event at a time. Time permitting we may take on a second event but that us usually not the norm.

What is your overtime rate?

Minimum $250.00 per hour.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?

Yes. After 50 miles from our address and any event in NYC (Manhattan). The fee is usually $100.00

What is the required deposit to secure your services?

Minimum $200 for a social event, weddings are $250.00
