Rev. Bonnie was very personable, professional, and took the time to get to know us and taylor our ceremony to be unique to us. We received many compliments on her performance of our ceremony. Rev. Bonnie took the time respond quickly to any questions we had and reminded us to breathe. She was also available with suggestions to help in planning our wedding from afar. We appreciate how she made our day about us and helped in making it absolutely perfect in every way. With her sensitivity and care it is not surprising she was the #1 Wedding Officiant in the DC area!

My husband and I hired Bonnie to officiate our ceremony. From the very beginning, she was extremely responsive and flexible. Bonnie helped us craft a personal ceremony that took into account our cultural backgrounds, personal beliefs, and family. For example, we worked with her to incorporate our guests doing some spanish during the ceremony. She made suggestions, sent us her thoughts and proposals, but was receptive to our desires.

One of the things that worried me about hiring an officiant is that the ceremony wouldn't be personal. But Bonnie gave a wonderful speech about us at the wedding. The ceremony went off flawlessly. Lots of people commented afterwards about how much they enjoyed it.

Finally, Bonnie was always on time and extremely responsive. She was professional the day of the ceremony and was checking in with us up to the last minute to make sure everything was ok. Bonnie also helped coordinate our rehearsal, and she worked very well with our wedding party.

We loved having Reverend Bonnie officiate our wedding ceremony. Not only was the ceremony perfect, but we felt that we gained a friend as well. In addition, during our interview, she helped us to articulate the traits that we value and adore in one another. That, along with the ceremony, are memories that we will cherish forever.

I can't say enough about my experience with Rev. Bonnie Berger. My husband (then fiance) and I found Rev. Bonnie on Wedding Wire and thought she looked friendly so we decided to set up a meeting with her. Even though we had not met with anybody else, we decided during the first meeting that we wanted her to marry us. She's very warm and has a calm, loving energy. On the second meeting, she asked us to talk opening about ourselves. I could tell she was really listening and genuinely interested. We went over what we were generally looking for in our ceremony and she described the process. We did not know exactly what she was going to say during our ceremony but it turned out to be absolutely beautiful. Her words were genuine, funny, touching and it was as if she had known us personally as a couple from the start. I got so many compliments throughout the night on Rev. Bonnie. I honestly feel like she was a large part of making our day so special and a unique reflection of ourselves.

Rev. Bonnie did a fantastic job. She put together a great service that was tailored right to what we wanted as a couple. We really liked how personalized her message was. I even had an aunt afterward say that she wished she had Rev. Bonnie do her wedding.

Rev. Bonnie is an amazing woman. We contacted her asking her to help us with our marriage ceremony in D.C. We did not know what to do, where to begin and what was required. She obtained our license via proxy, provided us with pages of sample vows and ring exchanges and even recommended several places to have our ceremony. We took parts from the samples she sent and created our own vows and ring exchange words. The whole experience was incredible and there is no doubt, our wedding was the most beautiful we have ever seen! Rev. Bonnie provided us with a ceremony that was emotional, breathtaking and sacred. I cannot begin to explain how deeply her words touched us. Only afterwards did we learn that she put all this together while dealing with having a ten ton tree fall on her house from the storm. This is pure dedication! By talking with her we discovered a woman who is delightful, funny and would be honored to call a friend. If you are looking for someone to help you create the wedding of your dreams (including a small intimate one like ours), Rev. Bonnie is the person to go to. She will guide you through the entire process, answer all your questions and help you in so many ways. We rated her a 5.0/5.0, but it should be a 100.0/100.0!! Honestly, please contact Rev. Bonnie - she will make your wedding such a pleasure to plan and a blessed event you will never forget!! BTW, we had someone to take pictures but wish our ceremony would have been recorded either audio or visual. We would love to be able to listen to it over and over!! Reverend Bonnie was the first potential officiant we interviewed. We knew before the meeting was over that we would be calling to cancel the rest of the interviews we had planned. The Reverend Bonnie is truly one of a kind. She took the time to come to know both of us...who we are, what we value, why we wanted to marry one another, who we were as individuals and together as partners, and then she wove a story into a ceremony that was a beautiful story of each of us coming together. She suggested ceremonial rituals which we had not thought about that served to strengthen the bond we were committing to and she involved our guests in those rituals. Our guests were truly moved by hers and our service. We had considered a number of other Officiants but when we met Reverend Bonnie we knew immediately that she was the perfect Minister for us in the All Souls Unitarian Church setting. I doubt you will ever find anyone with as much insight and love in her heart as Reverend Bonnie.

Rev. Bonnie never lost patience with me. Being a first timer at marriage I had plenty of questions. Ask away she'll tell you everything you need to know.

My partner and I live in North Carolina. We’ve been together for a few years and we wanted to get married. We decided we’d get married in Washington DC. We researched several websites trying to find someone to officiate our wedding. We emailed several people who didn’t appear to be willing to answer our many questions about how to marry in DC. We eventually came across Bonnie and we emailed our questions to her. Bonnie quickly responded and elaborated on every question. It was obvious to us that she took the time to help strangers who were trying to handle things long distance. Right from the start we knew that she was the one for us.
Bonnie continued to answer all our questions along the way. She was willing to file for our marriage license and picked it up for us. She was willing to perform our ceremony any way we wished. She sent examples of vows and wording for the ring exchanges. We were able to write our own versions to express what we wanted to say to each other. Bonnie eventually met us through Skype and she was able to personalize our day perfectly from the things she learned about us. Our wedding was informal, relaxed and a mix of laughs and fun stories which reflected our personalities to a tee.
We had a difficult time finding a location for our wedding. Although same sex marriages are legal in DC most places weren’t receptive to hosting a same sex wedding. Bonnie actually took it upon herself to call a local place and ask if we could have a wedding there. Although they had never hosted a wedding they were willing to open their doors for us. We were actually married, with friends and family, at Larry’s Lounge on a National Holiday before they actually opened for business. We will always be grateful to Ron who owns Larry’s Lounge.
