Rocky Mtn. Sound and Light
I grew up in this town and the first dance I ever went to was at the rec center back in the day. I can remember it like it was yesterday because it was the very first time I ever kissed a girl. These guys dj'd every rec dance and it's how I learned to get my groove on. lol. They did rotc ball and NC prom plus did my girlfriend prom in '06 at KW too. Everyone in this town knows these guys and know that they do a great job. I've seen them at countless dances and weddings and I always have had a great time. They just did my wedding on 7-21-12 and as usual he had the dance floor packed all night. This is a small town, ask around and you'll get the real truth about this company. I've never been disappointed. By the way that girl I kissed for the first time is now my wife.
Do NOT hire this DJ. He is a great salesman, and made several promises. Then sent his daughter who screwed up the wedding march, refused to introduce the wedding party, screwed up even getting people up to eat. She went through the bouquet toss, first dance, toast etc... as fast as possible, even telling the best man he had to get up and do the toast before we were finished eating!! She then sat the rest of her night on her phone or out smoking cigarettes. She was rude and acted like she didn't want to be there. When we called to complain the father was verbally abusive, saying how ugly the wedding decorations were and I quote "I have worked with women like you" even though everyone from the photographer to the venue to the hairstylist said we were the easiest people to work with. Very unprofessional, and I wish I would have stuck to my gut when I thought the guy was on drugs. It is the only way to explain the ridiculous conduct. Oh and the sound quality was awful, the speakers kept letting out loud cracking noises that my guests complained were painful. Don't be fooled!
The daughter did a terrible job and when I called to complain: the father started cussing at me. When I hung up on him, he called me back....twice! His daughter iis a terrible Dj and there is something seriously wrong with the father! They talk a big talk but stagger and stumble at their walk! Do yourself a favor and find someone else. I liked the son and was promised that he would do the wedding......we got the daughter who did a terrible job and then told lies to cover her behind cause she knew that there would be complaints! Why bother to request certain songs for the ceremony if she will not bother to play? She even changed songs during the brides march down the aisle. Very unprofessional. I think some of it was deliberate.
Very good job overall. Kept a good energy at reception and kept people on dance floor for the entire night. Was very organized and equipment was top notch. He did miss one meeting and later informed us that he forgot it was at that time. However he redeemed his professionalism on our wedding day, he got in a car accident on the way to the venue (it was not his fault someone literally ran him off the road) and he had to turn around and get a different trailer and truck and drive back to the venue (not an easy feat because the venue was 20 minutes from town) and he still made it to the venue on time and was ready to go before the ceremony was even finished.
Do not use Rocky Mountain Sound and Light. The services were horrible, the equipment was faulty, they played a song with explicit lyrics in it, and when my mother called (while I was on my honeymoon) to speak with the owner about it, he verbally abused her and cursed at her.
