Erich at Rose City DJ's was the best DJ we could have hoped for. Hands Down! My wife and I were most concerned about setting the tone of the reception (very type A personalities) with the help of the DJ and music, so we interviewed 5 different vendors in Portland. Erich had the most engaging personality of them all and was willing to play the music WE wanted while still catering to the audience. Also we should mention we were planning the wedding from another state, and Erich was always there to facilitate our questions. I even sent him a custom mixed song I wanted played, and a slideshow and he pulled everything off flawlessly.
His ultimate service package was also about +/- $1000 less than what other DJ companies wanted to charge too. We are late twenty-somethings and during the 5+hours he played the dance floor was completely packed and spilling over!! From the 5yr olds to the 70 year olds everyone had an amazing time dancing, even when the music was the contemporary style that we wanted played. We would recommend paying the extra money for the two flatscreens he brings, which adds to the party ambiance. He put up music videos on them, and intermixed photos of the bride and groom on them as well which was a nice touch. He had some great suggestions during the anniversary dances, and parents dances which made the night even more special. We can't say how grateful we are that we hired Erich and his team. If you're planning an event in Portland, don't even waste your time interviewing anyone else. Seriously!

My husband and I got married in McMinnville at Youngberg Hill Inn and Winery. We selected Rose City Dj to provide our music. Erich was very helpful and experienced. Our DJ, Pippin, was excellent. We selected all the music that we wanted him to play and he created exactly the atmosphere we were looking for, tasteful and lively! We were so surprised to see how many people ended up on the dance floor. I definitely attribute this to Pippin's perception of what was necessary to plan and when. He also was very attuned to other parts of the event such as when people were giving speeches or making announcements. We would definitely recommend Rose City DJ to couples getting married in Portland and surrounding areas.

This man made my wedding day!! I have to say he made it special. It wasn't the officient it wasn't the wedding planner or the event rental place or the venue. All of there service was just service. If it weren't for rosecitydj my wedding would not have been the same. I would recommend him to anyone and already have many times.

Played all of the music I requested and at the correct times. Was entertaining and did all of the basic things needed from a DJ. A few details weren't as we had discussed but overall did a great job and would recommend to anyone.

Erich turned our reception into the perfect party. He wasn't just a DJ, he kept people entertained and busy. I have never seen so many people stay so late and keep on dancing. What a great decision we made with Erich. He worked with us to use our hard to find music and chose the rest based on our taste. He also gave us some wonderful ideas to incorporate that we wouldn't have done otherwise. Highly recommended!

Working with Erich was great! He gave great recommendations when we asked for them and was really flexible with our pretty specific music requests. He went above and beyond what we had asked and did it all with a smile on his face. Our friends and families raved about how great the music was.

Erich did an amazing job! He was amazing at entertaining our guests, making announcements and making sure our whole wedding ran smoothly. He played music to fit the mood of the crowd, which was great, but it meant only one-two of our "must plays" were played. I wouldn't have had anyone else DJ our event though and would recommend him to anyone!

Erich did an excellent job as a DJ/MC for our wedding. Erich was our DJ for the ceremony and reception at our wedding a few weeks ago. He really went above and beyond when trying to make the event turn out perfectly. You can tell he absolutely loves his job and really loves every aspect of a wedding, not just the DJ part. He was there to lend a helping hand where ever needed and he simply wanted the wedding to turn out perfect. The transitions during the ceremony were timed beautifully and the reception was a blast. Many of our guests commented on how great our DJ was. We even had a few guests with birthdays and Erich was very happy to add a shout out to them during the reception. He is very responsive to any instant requests. Overall, he did a wonderful job and we would definitely recommend him.

Erich was the DJ for our wedding 3weeks ago at the Oregon Golf Club. It was absolutely perfect! He did such an amazing job. The music we selected was played just as we wanted it, he got the crowd going at the reception, and he is such a blast to work with. I would definetily use him again and refer him.

Erich from Rose City DJ was our DJ for our recent wedding. He was fabulous! The thing that sets Erich apart is that he acts as the DJ, emcee and wedding coordinator. He doesn't just stand up there and throw on some music, instead he interacts with the group and keeps everyone happy and dancing. He kept the party going all night by choosing music to fit our group and accepted requests to ensure that our guests had a wonderful evening. Erich's pricing was very affordable and he was quite flexible with meeting times and places. Rose City DJ has an online planning form that was easy to use for picking out music and deciding the order of events. Our wedding would not have been the same without Erich, we are both very glad we made the choice to have Erich as our DJ.

Erich had exceptional customer service, extremely knowledgeable and very personable. He made me feel like he was never too busy for me. At the wedding he was so perfect, everything ran better than I could hope for. He has great advice, and knows how to get things done right. Everyone in at the wedding was impressed with him, saying he's the best dj they have heard. I went to a wedding shortly after who had another top rater as their dj and let me tell you... Erich was SO much better, could not have been happier with my choice.

I had the pleasure of working with Erich at Rose City DJ's to provide ceremony and reception music for my recent wedding at the Waterfront Marriott (downtown Portland). The entire process was flawless. The planning website is very easy to use, and our in-person meeting answered all of my questions and assured me that we had made the right decision. On the day of the event, everything went just as I had imagined. Erich's experience and professional judgement were perfect, and I would recommend him to anyone, no matter the size or location of the event.

Erich was AMAZING! He helped us with every little detail. From what type of song for the bouquet toss, to the unity sand, to the mother-son dance. Theres so many details that we didn't even think about that he helped us with! The day of he was funny, witty, and the guests loved him. My party stayed & danced until end! Thank you Erich!

Was not thrilled that my DJ parked at a metered spot and when my husband and I were ready to be introduced we had to wait for him to get back form feeding his meter before our guests could welcome us to the reception. The parking garage was not much furhter away and I wasnt paying him to run around town to feed his meter. Iwas paying him to keep my party entertaining. He was also a bit arrogant for my taste and truth be told a bit annoying as well. If I had to do it over again, my DJ selection is the only thing i would change about my big day.

If you don't have Erich at Rose City DJ's do your event, you will have a second rate DJ at best. Erich was much more than a DJ to us. He impressed us with his professionalism from the first meeting where he sipped on his "jet fuel" and took notes and offered advice on how/where to save money, all through the planning process, the day of the rehearsal when he took charge (politely) and organized the ceremony, and finally through our perfect wedding. Erich was by far the most important vendor at our wedding.
We received an amazing amount of compliments from our guests about Erich. We are in our mid-30's so we had a good mix of age groups; from small children up through mid-70's. Erich was appropriate, professional, respectful, and played a great variety of music. Considering our crowd, we were both fully surprised that Erich had the dance floor packed the entire wedding!
More than our florist, photographer, event coordinator, or the bakery we went through...Erich single-handedly made our wedding a perfect day. Erich is much more than a DJ and, we promise, you will NOT be disappointed if you choose his services.

For those of us putting on our "first" formal wedding, we found Erich Allen to be particularly helpful. He did the organizing, ran the rehearsal, and kept things going, which was amazing!!!!

Erich Allen is AMAZING!!! He made our experience at our wedding fantastic. He is definitely worth every penny. Really easy to work with and responsive. He was willing to meet with us before the wedding to discuss what we wanted and attended our ceremony rehearsal as well!! He did a great job playing for the younger and older crowd and making sure the reception flowed smoothly!! I would highly recommend him for any event!!

He has a sense of humor which helps if you have one too. If you would like to keep it fully business like just let him know and he will tone down the humor. He definately gets the job done and will do anything to make you happy. He also works with your schedule to make sure everything runs smoothly. And it did!

Erich was so amazing. All of my guests thought he was my wedding coordinator as he just took charge the day of the wedding in making everything flow perfectly. He would asks us which way we wanted things to happen during the wedding and make suggestions as to what he knew tended to work best and then do as we asked. We were all very impressed with his service and were very glad that we chose Rose City. He was also there for our rehearsal and started coordinating the order of the wedding long before with the planning guide he sets up with each couple.
