Rosedale Floral Design

Rosedale Florist was the preferred vendor for our ceremony & reception venue at the Wedgewood Banquet Center - Crystal Springs in Burlingame, CA. Our main contact was Avonne Lee and she was great. I met with her about 5 months before our wedding. She listened to what I wanted and provided very useful feedback. She goes about a mile a minute, but she did listen to the details that I wanted. After our initial consultation, she was very quick to respond to my numerous emails. I oftentimes got responses within 3-4 hours if I sent during the day and then the next morning if I sent her emails late at night. I had a lot of changes for Avonne too, not so much with the style, I forgot to get flowers for several people in my party. It seemed like I had emailed Avonne every 2 weeks with another change and yet each time, Avonne said it was no problem and made changes to my floral order right away. I absolutely loved my white rose bouquet and we also got a lot of compliments on our centerpieces. I would highly recommend working with Avonne Lee of Rosedale Floral Designs if you need a florist for your wedding!

Avonne has a great eye for design. She helped us put our ideas together. In a 2 hr meeting, she helped us decide everything related to the venue. She is a little bit on the expensive side, but her flowers are very beautiful and fresh. My bouquet looked and smelled amazing! It looked even better than the sample picture she showed us. She also decorated our cake as we wanted fresh flowers. I felt that the flowers on the cake were not quite as nice as the ones in our bouquets. But overall, she helped us create a beautiful yet elegant setup. Thanks Avonne!

Avonne is amazing! She walked me through everything and was a huge help in selecting the type and color of flowers. She even helped me in deciding the color of the table linens. The center pieces and ceremony flowers were incredible and really helped to set the feel I was looking for.

Avonne was very helpful and friendly. She had great ideas and produced a perfect product! Our colors were a little abnormal: purple and orange, and she managed to make everything look amazing and exceed our expectations while making it an easy and painless process. Highly recommended.

The owner Avonne is wonderful. She read my mind before I told her what I wanted. All she needed to see was the bridesmaid dresses. She pick a color that compliments the dresses instead of matching them, which was what I wanted. Avonne is so easy to work with and has a sweet personality. I felt like I was family whenever I saw her. It has been a week and I still have my bouquets in a vase and they still look decent. She is reasonability priced, and her work is beautiful. She got me vanilla roses with magenta orchids for everything in the wedding and it all matched perfectly.

Avonne did such a great job on my bridal bouquet and my bridesmaid bouquet. My vision was Peacock feather and she combined my peacock feather perfectly.
What I liked about her is she thinks outside the box.

By the time the wedding came around, Yvonne could read my mind. After our first meeting, she threw out some ideas that I had never thought of for things to carry the theme all the way through the wedding. I mulled them over and thought "I know nothing about this stuff and this person does it for a living"...after our next meetings it became evident that she understood my "vision" and elevated it to a whole new level. She is responsive, such a sweet person, and so talented at what she does. If she offers her opinion, it is for a reason, and that reason is because she truly wants people to feel beautiful and have the floral arrangements play a part, not overshadow the couple and the emotion. I think the biggest mistake people could make is not listening to the experts and being stubborn about their own choices, which often do not flow and provide a consistent theme to your day, it simply looks disjointed and odd. If you hire Yvonne, LISTEN to her, and give it some thought, because she knows her stuff!

I am so disappointed at how my wedding flowers turned out!

My wedding was at Wedgewood Crystal Springs, and I had decided to go with Rosedale Design, their contracted florist, because I had seen their bouquets for other weddings. I thought they were beautiful and fresh, so I thought I couldn't go wrong booking with Avonne.

A few weeks before my wedding, I go to her office to make the final payment, and she confirms everything with me in person. It all sounds great. Then the big day comes, and the moment I see my bouquet, I'm not impressed. The edges of all the yellow roses were already starting to rot. The white roses and freesia were fine, but it was nothing like the quality I had seen previously in person or in her photos. At her prices, wilting roses are unacceptable. For the condition half the roses were in, I could've gotten them at Safeway for a fifth of the price.

As disappointed as I was about my bouquets, at least they were the right color. The centerpieces, however were an entirely different story. At the consultation, I had emphasized to Avonne that I wanted a very simple, monochromatic, pomander look for the centerpieces. We spent maybe twenty or thirty minutes just going over the specific shade of pink I wanted. I even gave her a photo of the look I wanted so there would be no confusion. Our final contract also confirmed this by stating that all flowers were either to be "reddish pink or fuschia." But still, when I walked into the reception, the centerpieces looked like a salad of orange-y red, very pale pink, fuschia, green, and WHITE!

I was especially disappointed that the centerpieces were wrong because my reception was set up pretty much like the photo of what I had wanted. All the linens and details were champagne-colored or ivory. And the centerpieces were supposed to be the uniform pop of color. But sadly the whole effect was ruined.

I don't know how it's possible that such a highly praised florist could do such a horrible job, but as you know, there are no second tries with weddings. Perhaps, my order wasn't big enough to matter to her.

I would strongly advise against booking with this vendor.

I would recommend this vender if you need ideas on decor and flowers, however if you already have a picture in your mind what you want your flowers and decor to look like i would not recommend ROSEDALE flowers. I could not get a word in the sales lady talked so much. she did not like any of my ideas and would not do some of the flower colors i ask. She did have very good ideas but just not for what i wanted. And she is a lil pricy.

Avonne was such a pleasure to work with. She worked well with us and made suggestions based on our wedding theme and colors that worked out beautifully. I absolutely loved our flowers. Both my bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets were exactly what I wanted.
