Reviews for Rossmoor Pastries
Rossmoor Pastries did both our wedding and grooms cake and BOTH were delicious! PIB!
They made my surprise grooms cake for our rehearsal dinner. The design and taste was GREAT, but the only problem we had was at pickup. My sister was supposed to pick up the cake for me on the way, but when she got there it wasn't ready. We were super bummed because we wanted to be on time to rehearsal- she was my MOH. They said they wrote down a different pickup time so it was a mis-communication, but either way it was a half hour difference and normally cakes are done in advance- so???
Our wedding cake was AMAZING! It was absolutely beautiful and the taste was awesome as well. I was very picky about the wedding cake because I have NEVER been to a wedding a liked the taste- but Rossmoor was amazing! All the guests loved it too!!!!! They were also delivered and set-up on time at the reception as well!
Overall I thought Rossmoor was great compared to other cake vendors, they have lots of experience and creativity. I do think they are a little overpriced in comparison to other cake vendors but their decor and taste makes them worth it for the quality. They lost a star because of the pick-up issue and for being a little over-priced, other then that I loved our cakes!!!

I have to say after reading the mixed reviews on here I was worried. But since Rossmoor Pastries came in my package I had no choice so I have them a try. And to my surprise I had the best experience with Rossmoor~
This is one of the vendors that came through for us what can I say about our wedding cake~it was flawless! beautiful! And absolutely delicious! Amazing it didn't even look real. When I saw it I had the biggest smile it was just like in a picture..how do they get it so perfect? Most of our guests thought we had a fake cake. It truly was just like I imagined.
When we went for our tasting Joanna was the girl helping us she was so nice and helpful. They even prepared a custom flavor for us. We tried so many flavors I was full for a day. The cakes were all absolutely delicious which is unusual for weddign cakes in my opinion. We ended up going with the white and Amaretto with raspberry jam and just the top layer was marble and french vanilla for my dear husband. And I changed my mind about 4 times before we left we were there for at least 2 hours.
They really pay attention to detail. And they called me 3 times to remind me to bring in my cake topper. They told me where I could get the cake stand I wanted and they even told me how I could make one myself. They set everything up on time and delivery was prompt.
I got lots of compliments on the look and taste of our weddign cake! And I am really pleased!
We just had our cake tasting with Rossmoor today; I must admit I was a bit wary due to some of the negative reviews on here. I can see why some people refer to this place as a wedding cake factory; it's very clear that they do a ton of orders and cakes are probably cranked out a lot faster/efficiently than a mom and pop bakery. With that said, they do seem to be very good at cakes; they're all immaculately decorated and the consultation was very well-organized.
However, if you're looking for a more personal experience with a vendor, this is probably not the best place for you. Our consultant wasn't rude, but I got the impression she just wanted us to make our selections so she could get us out of there. The meeting felt a bit rushed - she wanted us to decide on everything on the spot so she could draw up the quote, and that was a little uncomfortable (like having someone stare at you while you eat - just feels funny). Their cakes tasted fine - not quite as fluffy as Torrance Bakery, but still pretty good. I wanted a fresh strawberry filling, and was a bit sad that it added so much to the price. If we were to stick with one of their package cakes, I think it'd be quite reasonably priced. One other thing, though - if you'd like your cake baked same-day; you should probably go with another bakery, as they told us the cakes were baked a couple days in advance due the volume of their orders.
We probably won't go with them, but depending on your cake needs, they're not a bad choice.
The cake came with my catering package and I was a bit skeptical of a package cake at first but the variety and the quality of what Rossmoor provides was amazing! I upgraded to get an extra tier and even that was only $200. They let me choose the flavors, icing and design. The cake was the most photographed thing at my event. Every comment I got from my guests was about the cake ..looks and taste.
i had their cake with fresh pineapple filling and it was SO good!
Our cake was included in our package but we chose Rossmoor out of three bakeries. They were the best tasting and had some great flavors. Our main layer was chocolate cake with chocolate raspberry bavarian cream. The design was perfect too. We choose one they had on display and my mom said the cake looked fake on the wedding day because it was so perfect.

We chose Rossmoor over other bakeries first off because of the taste. I’m not into really sweet cakes, so when we went for our tasting there, I noticed that the cakes were nice and fluffy, but more importantly, not too sweet. Our cake tasted delicious and turned out amazing. We had a chocolate and vanilla mocha latte Bavarian cream cake. I had given them a picture of how I wanted the cake to look like. They did it exactly the way I wanted it. Everyone thought our cake was gorgeous and tasted delicious.
Rossmoor Pastries is only popular because they have contracts with so many local reception sites, not because their cakes are good. I am a cake person, I love cake. This is the only cake I have ever spit out. My fiance who eats anything, didn't even like it or finish his slice at my friend's wedding.
The cake is tasteless, and the service is horrible. My friend asked me to go with her to the cake tasting, and the coordinator was rude and rushed us through the appointment. If you can, I would recommend avoiding this bakery, there are so many better tasting, better priced bakeries out there.
I had a very good experience with Rossmoor Pastries. Our consultant's name was Charlotte and she was really nice and helpful. She even helped me pick out a 3-D basketball Laker's inspired groom's cake. The wedding cake was so good my husband's brother-in-law accidentally ate our top tier two weeks after the wedding (oops!).
Our cake is included in our package and I was a bit worried when I saw thier website. Then I went for our tasting and boy was I impressed! The cakes that they have on display in thier showroom are AMAZING! They can do whatever you want, just bring a picture. While we were there, they were working on a Taj Mahal for someone. It was three feet by three feet and absolutly gorgeous!
Oh yeah, and they cakes taste great tio! We had a hard time deciding. The frosting is yummy, the cakes are moist and the fillings are great! I highly recommend them!
Update: Our cake looked exactly as I wanted it to, and tasted great as well! It was awesome!
Rossmoor pastries delivered an amazing cake at an affordable price! The cake was full of flavor and was very moist. We go there for all of our special occasion cakes!
Our cake was gorgeous and delicious! They were easy to work with and our cake was exactly what we wanted. We went with white cake and a lemon raspberry filling, it was amazing!
Our country club had a list of 3 bakeries we could choose from, and out of the 3 Rossmoor had the best tasting cake samples according to my hubby. I designed our wedding cake myself so I was a bit concerned that they would charge me extra for not usinga pre made designed cake. But in the end they didn't charge an extra thing. They made the cake almost identical to my drawing. It looked gorgeous. I really didn't want to cut into that thing that night. Everyone thought the cake was just as delicious as it looked.
Check out the cake in my profile pictures!
My DH and I are not cake people unless its tres Leches and since it wasn't, we let our 4 year old decide what cake to serve. Took him to our tasting and said, "Isaac, you pick the cake". And he did. Whatever he picked was pretty darn good because he wanted a to-go bag. And I haven’t heard a peep from our guests, so I guess it was a successJ Gotta love it!
Our guests were raving about out cake all night and I am still hearing about it. And I must say that it was very very tasty. We had different flavors in each layer and that was fun.
Our cake was included in our wedding package from El Dorado Park. I loved our cake and all of our guests seemed to as well. Not only did it look great but it tasted great too.
The cake was so, so delicious (and oh-so-pretty). As a certified dessert lover, it was definitely the highlight of the reception for me. Our cake looked so smooth like fondant on the outside, but was in fact covered with buttercream so it tasted fabulous. The chocolate and white cake layers were both very moist; the filling (chocolate raspberry Bavarian crème) was especially delightful. I highly recommend Rossmoor Pastries.
I love this bakery! They were one of the preferred vendors through Los Coyotes Country Club, but I have used them in the past for my mom’s wedding anniversary. EXCELLENT cake! So light and yummy. They copied a design I brought to them and the did it. Great service, nice people when you go for the tasting (and they serve you full slices, not little squirts of icing.) Not too sweet, just right.
I had heard mixed reviews about Rossmoor and decided to check it out myself since they were a recommended baker from my venue. I personally am not a cake person and did't care other than the look. My sister, maid of honor, and husband are a different story. Rossmoor allowed 4 of us to come for the tasting and boy did they ever taste. They were blown away by all the different flavors and their ability to mix and match whatever you wanted. We ended up with a 4 tier square cake with 3 different flavors. We did dulce de leche, a black and white cake with a rum filling and their California Sunset which is lemon with raspberry. Once the decisions were made I tasted them and they were delicious! I got lots of compliments and it was perfect because guests got to choose what flavor they wanted. We only had our top tier left and that was because our coordinator saved it for us. Everything else was gone. I would highly recommend this baker! The design was exactly what I wanted and I couldn't have been happier.
Our cake from Rossmoor Pastries wedding cake studio was beautiful and delicious! I go there for all of my parties.
This was the baker that was part of our catering package with Jay's catering and it turned out perfect! We went in for a consultation which was very professional and extremely easy!! We had planned on spending for an upgrade but it turned out we didn't need to. We picked one design with a few modifications and it turned out beautiful and tasted excellent! The girl who was our consultant was also extremely sweet to recommend rehearsal dinner locations as we don't live in the area and even gave us brochures and pamphlets. Overall I was very satisfied!
We got our wedding cake from Rossmoor for our wedding on June 20th, 2009. We went to a tasting a few months before to select the flavors and everything was delicious. We ended up selecting a white cake with a caramel mousse filling, white cake with raspberry and amaretto filling and red velvet with cream cheese filling, all with buttercream frosting.
The cake was delivered to the reception in perfet condition and looked absolutely gorgeous! There is a pic in my bio if you'd like to see it. The cake was moist and even more delicious than it was at the tasting. My only complaint would be I wish I wouldve had more than a few bites!
Rossmoor was very accommodating, they upgraded my cake twice at no cost and I was able to rent a cake stand from them as well. I highly recommend them.
The wedding cake was amazing. I was pretty nervous about it because I booked them as part of my package with my venue and decided to go with them after going to several other cake tastings.
First, they were very accomdating and the baker came out to even show me they could do the design I wanted, which I appreciated because she told me she would be the one to design the cake. So I felt pretty good about it but still a little nervous before the wedding.
I choose the Chocolate cake with Mint Filling. It was so good! It tasted just like mint and chip ice cream, which is my favorite!
Anyways the day of the wedding, I was so happy with the cake, that even though the missed a couple of things on it, I was ecstatic with the design and how nice and cleaned it looked.
I was also at a recent event where they provided their cupcakes and I gotta say they were also very yummy!
I wanted my cake to be cornflower blue with orange flowers and Rossmoor Pastries made it perfectly! I brought in picture of what I wanted and they were able to make our beautiful wedding cake. A few people have already come up to me just to tell me that the cake was the best they have ever tasted. We had the pineapple delight with mango creme filling...mmmm!
Our venue has a contract with them, so I didn't actually have to choose this vendor. We were very pleased with their service, and my cake designer had some great ideas to build on from what I brought her.
My husband and I aren't really dessert people, but we even liked it, so I think that's a fairly good compliment to them. I think the best layer was the raspberry cheese mousse layer.
The cake was included in our package and it was so YUMMY and so BEAUTIFUL! We had a coice between 3 bakeries and went to tastings at all o them. We received the best service from Rossmoor and the most options.
I got a my wedding cake here and I was very happy with the service and the taste of the cake. I brought in a piece of ribbon for them to go off of for the color and they matched it perfectly. I got the Dolche De Leche Cake. It was delivered on time and exactly how I asked.
I had a mixed experience. Our cake price was included from our venue (Hyatt in Huntington Beach), so we did not have to worry about pricing except for adding any extras such as fondant or other decorations. We had read such good reviews from Rossmoor Pastries, so I made an appointment and went. The cakes were actually very delicious and I found the sample tasting sizes to be more than enough. However our consultant was not very good, not knowledgeable at all. Every time we inquired about something - cost of adding a ribbon of fondant to each of 3 layers, she had to go back and ask, and the cost was always ridiculous. I felt very boxed in, and couldn't have any creative design without paying a ridiculous extra fee. She also did not help in any creative capacity so I ended up having to go with the most basic design and hope that flowers or something would make it look nice. On the day of, everyone loved the taste of the cake, it was very delicious. It ended up looking great b/c of my awesome florist adding beautiful flowers on it. So basically it tasted great and looked good, but the experience was not great.
AMAZING cake!! SOOO yummy! Everyone was really pleased!
Delicious. The cake was beautiful and tasted great. The staff returned my calls and emails very promptly. I would definitely recommend them.
They forgot to put something on the top of my cake. I didn't see it until after I got married. But they were affordable and the cake was good. I would recommend them for the price.
This company will make a cake at half the price that other cake makers will do. The cake itself is excellent! It was moist and flavorful and so reasonably priced. I highly recommend them!!!
Rossmoor Pastries did our cake. It was beautiful, economical and tasted great.
Our cake came included from Rossmoor with our package at the reception. I was very excited because their cakes are delicious and beautiful. Our wedding colors were red and black, and our cake fit the theme. It was white with red ribbon and black scrolling all over. It looked great and tasted even better.
Although our cake was included in our catering bill at the Ebell Club, we could not have been happier. The options for cake, filling, icing and decorations allowed us to create the cake we wanted without any added expense. The tasting went very well and Jamie was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions. After we ordered our cake, we decided to order a small cake for my mother-in-law; again we were provided excellent service. I had two pieces the night of the wedding- YUMMY!
The cake arrived on time, looked beautiful, tasted incredible, and didn't burn a hole in our pockets. What more could you ask for?!
I love this place. Our cake was the center of attention. Everyone thought it was fake, because it was so perfectly done. I will recommend this place to any one looking for a cake place. I had the best time at our cake tasting.
I had a similar bad customer service experience as others had. We went in for a cake tasting and the girl working there acts all uppity. Uh, you're working in a cake shop in a building that looks like a strip mall. She also had to walk into some back room to check the pricing on every little thing which I thought was strange. Turns out what was hiding in that back room was this rude ogre who seems to be the manager or owner. He is extremely nasty to deal with and should not be running a wedding cake shop. Count yourself lucky if you do not have to deal with him.
I thought the cakes tasted fine but I definitely did not order from them due to their horrendous customer service. You can order a similar cake from another vendor with people working there who are nice and happy.
BEWARE!!! In reality this place deserves no stars, but I had to click on at least one. I had considered this vendor for my wedding cake. But before that I ordered a cake for my best friend's baby shower. We payed $175 for delivery from Signal Hill to Pasadena, I thought it was very expensive for a baby shower cake but it was for my best friend. They NEVER showed up!!! I had to call the store to find out what was taking so long for the cake to arrive and they said the cake was in their refrigerator but someone forgot to added it to the delivery list! Now by the time they would had arrived, the party would had been over. There is no way I will consider them now. How can they charge so much for delivery and not deliver at all!?!? Brides DO NOT consider them, your wedding cake may NEVER arrive.
I purchased a package deal with the Sheraton Cerritos that included a cake from Rossmoor. I saw all the reviews here and on some other sites and was ao afraid i would have a bad experience, they have so many bad reviews. Well we went for the tasteing today and it was great! Laurel helped us and withing 10 minutes we had everything picked out! The cake we choose was awesome, so delicious. I had a general idea of what i wanted but not too clear, she totally guided me to the perfect cake and had great suggestions. She was supper friendly. So far im excited. My mom and sister were really impressed too. Wedding is in 01/10.
CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This company is nothing but a scam!!!!! The owners are liars and thiefs... they promise you one thing and do something completely different!!!!!
This bakery is nothing but a rip-off, trust me the cakes aren't that good either... you can get just as good of cakes at French's Bakery for half the cost!!!!
They aren't even worth one star... but I had to enter something.
If they told me my wedding cake was even only one dollar I wouldn't go with them.
With todays economy we as consumers are entitled to decent customer service with reasonable prices, and they are anything and everything but!!!
Cake was decent (nothing terrific), service is terrible. Would not recommend using their wedding cake service. Owner has horrible business sense and could not take a complaint so he hung up on me.
Using them was the only service that we did not pick ourselves (packaged with the place we got married at), and also the only service we regretted using.
Bottom line is that there are so many other great Wedding bakeries out there that to risk it with rossmoor is a bad decision.
Rossmoor for me, was a very great disappointment. It's a cake factory that serves glorified version of your average Albertson's cake. Not that Albertson's cake is bad. I just don't want to pay a wedding cake price for it.
It wasn't just the taste of the cake that put me off. It was the whole cake tasting process. They specifically called me to tell me that I HAD to have the wedding venue prior to tasting which I thought was rude. The other places that I did tasting never told me that they wouldn't see me unless I had a venue. They just needed a date to go off of.
Second, the "cake consultant" provided to us was not very friendly at all, and they gave us the smallest slices of cake to even try. She was always distracted and had to go to the "back room" to get estimates for the types of cake decorations I wanted. When it was all said and done, the cake I wanted was the same as the other places I went to. We ended up choosing to have our cake customized by Let Them Eat Cake. With a simple design, and an original one at that, we are paying the same price we would have paid for a cake at Rossmoor's.
As a wedding coordinator, I use many bakeries throughout Southern California. Rossmoor Pastries is by far the best! Best in taste. Best in creativity and design. Best in cost. SIMPLY THE BEST!
Years of wonderful service and beautiful cakes. We can't recommend Rossmoor enough!
Excellent service, beautiful cakes, amazing taste!
Fantastic cakes and pastries! They have provided cakes for several weddings and events, including SeaFare at the Aquarium. Fabulous choices for fillings, layers and icing!
