Royal Fig Catering

Food was one of the most important aspects of our wedding (December 2011), and after doing some extensive research, Royal Fig was the first caterer we met with. We worked with Jason Freshly, and after our consultation decided that we didn't need to meet with any other caterers.We loved that they are full-service. They provided us with an event manager (Jason), staff for our family dinner-style reception, all types of rentals (heaters for our outdoor winter wedding!), and of course the most wonderful food. Jason worked with us to select a sophisticated menu that would please our palates as well as our multicultural guests and gave us great guidance in laying out our reception and ceremony seating, tables, cocktail tables, etc., since they work with our venue (the Inn at Wild Rose Hall) so much. From the appetizers to the entrees to the hot chocolate, we were blown away.Oh, the hot chocolate. I need to throw in that my two "musts" were something with sweet potatoes and a hot chocolate bar. They so exceeded our expectations -- guests were talking about the hot chocolate bar all night.

There is wedding food. And then there is fantastic wedding food. We had fantastic wedding food with entres and appetizers you could still pronounce the name of. At the tasting we knew we hit gold. Jason was extremely helpful and flexible, giving us all of our options for food, linens, drinks, and more. He was very calm as we went back and forth on deciding on the entre. Jason did a run through of the wedding reception AT the venue before the tasting, so we knew what the set up would look like. He also helped me find some decorations for my wedding that I got to rent at a good price and all I had to do was drop a check in the mail for him. He was extremely accomodating and helpful. We had 200 people at our wedding and their staff were like ninjas! To serve that many people seamlessly and flawlessly, that is amazing. You didn't even see them as they swept in and out giving refills and seconds on our family style dining. The food was not inexpensive, but to feed 200 people with GOOD food, it was worth the price! Definitely loved Royal Fig and got many many many compliments on how good the food was! Thank you RF!

Royal Fig catered our wedding in November and they were amazing! Kristen was quick to respond from my initial phone call. I wasn't sure exactly what details I needed to work out and she walked me through everything she could think of. In a matter of 15 minutes she had it all worked out for me! I did try and do my due diligence and contact other caterers, although Royal Fig was already the front runner. The others were overpriced, some were rude on the phone, and the other main contender was several days late with a quote (she forgot totally to send the quote until I called to remind her). My heart was already with Royal Fig and the issues with the other caterer quotes sealed the deal. Kristen was on top of everything! She was great to work with, from the initial tasting, to the wedding site visit, emails, phone calls, even the day of the wedding! The staff was extremely professional and super sweet! We have had more compliments on the food and staff from our wedding than I can count!! I would highly recommend Royal Fig... you will NOT be disappointed!!

I cannot say enough good things about Royal Fig. Our first tasting was with them and after there was no need to taste anything else. We knew they had to cater our wedding! Their food is absolutely amazing and is above and beyond "wedding food". We would eat it every day if we could! A few of our favorites were the NY Strip Steak with three dressings of bacon jam (yum!), chimichurri, or a béarnaise sauce, the pretzel bread was also a hit. They also made sure all of our vegetarians and kids had something unique! Our desert - was great - blackberry cobbler, caramel apple bread pudding, s'mores and homemade creme fresh ice cream. They serve the food family style which is perfect and means your guests won't be waiting in a buffet line! All our guests raved about how incredible the food was and that it was far better than any other food they had a wedding. Also there is no way that our day would have been so organized and planned if Kristen wasn't involved. Her and her husband are the owners of Royal Fig and are a dynamite duo. Kristen was meaningful in her interactions and genuinely wanted us to have the best day imaginable. She kept us to our timetable and also reminded me more than once to breath and take it all in. She also did a great job of making sure our guests were taken care of and had enough food. Kristen is truly a one of a kind person. Her staff are friendly and professional and obviously take pride in their work.Once again Royal Fig is truly one of a kind!!!

Kristen was very responsive and professional throughout all my emails and changes. The food was just amazing. We had a morning wedding with a brunch reception. She made sure that the bridal party didn't miss out on the cocktails and appetizers while we were taking photos too. The date stuffed with a marcona almond wrapped in bacon was a huge hit. Kristen also helped me find the bakery for my wedding cake and acted as wedding planner the day of the wedding. She also helped me get the linens for the reception at a significant discount. Everything went just as planned and we couldn't have been happier!

My daughter picked Royal Fig for the fresh seasonal organic emphasis, but was not able to make the first meeting. Her sister, the groom and I received a warm welcome and an open mind from Kristin and we all liked her immediately. We sort of came with vague ideas of what we envisioned. She was able to ask pointed questions that drew those intangible thoughts from our minds and made them explicit. She navigated the treacherous waters of thousands of choices, never dictating anything and never up-selling. Instead, she warned us where we would spend the most and where we could save. She suggested ways of saving, which we later upgraded as the whole plan unfolded and went together. She was always flexible. She was always working FOR us. She continually changed the floor plans as we developed our perfect dream marriage ceremony and wedding celebration. It is incomprehensible to me that she does this week after week at times. Kristin was always available and responsive. I think I fainted with joy when she told me she would be cleaning up afterwards and I did not have to worry about that! She was not kidding, either! We brought a car loaded down with various parts for the whole Texas Women’s Federation Mansion. She helped us assign people who would carry all those moving parts out of the building when the evening was over. The whole night was absolutely fabulous and we had many guests saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever seen—my daughter’s favorite type of compliment. I am thankful to God for sending Kristin to us. There is no way I could have done it without her at all. We were so thankful, so grateful, and we enjoyed ourselves so much! We knew all the details were covered. She never imposed her ideas on us, but always let us know what the effect of our decisions could be. We would reconsider elements, move forward, withdraw. She didn’t miss a beat. I can’t imagine anyone could give better service—I didn’t even care if the food was good, but it was amazing. The steak was perfect!!! My foodie guests raved about various parts of the meal and the appetizers. The groomsmen sucked up bowls of the mashed potatoes. I made sure to keep looking around and savoring the moment. All that work culminating into one tremendous evening—my heart was overflowing with joy. It was all that I ever imagined and more than I ever hoped I would experience. It was real life—not a picture, not a thought, not a dream. I was right there in the middle of my own life and the love and unity and joy was topped with fun and elegance and our own unique expressions of the bride and groom. A foretaste of heaven, I am sure of it. Thank you to Royal Fig and to Kristin. I will always treasure that peak in my life.

They were absolutely wonderful and made sure the night of went off flawlessly. Extremely responsive and even had diagrams of my venue and discussed room layout and rentals. There was never a dull moment in the night and Kristen really went above and beyond as a caterer. She was even feadtured in Tribeza from my wedding for what a wonderful job she does! People are still talking about their food a month later.I will definitely use them again!

Do you like professional service? Do you like experienced event planning? do you like a caterer who will take the time to understand you and the vision for your event, then expertly help you realize that vision? Do you want a caterer who is honest and has high standards of themselves? Do you like food that is amazing and will have you dreaming about it weeks after the event?If you've answered no to these questions, Royal Fig simply isn't the caterer for you. My wife and I secured Royal Fig to cater our wedding. Aside from deciding to marry each other, it was the smartest decision that we've made together. First and foremost, Chef Dan and the staff were rockstars with the food. It was all of the highest quality and ever so fresh. As foodies, my wife and I were very pleased with it. We also had a very specific vision for how we wanted our wedding to be. Kristen was amazing in helping us achieve this. She really listened to what we wanted and offered ideas there were spot on for highlighting what we needed. She did all of this with a great eye for detail and built our ideas around what was needed for Royal Fig to be effective and efficient in serving our guests. Kristen also impressed us quite a bit on the few occasions she told us no. Some of our ideas were a little out there...and Kristen was honest enough to let us know why they wouldn't work. She also held true to the high standards of Royal Fig...refusing to do anything that would lower their standards of quality or even give the impression of diminished service from Royal Fig. How could we not like that? With a honesty and an attitude like that, the days leading up to our wedding were virtually stress free knowing that we would have a great day and our guests would be treated like royalty.We can't get married again. However, if we ever renew our vows or have another event where we can use Royal Fig, we will do so without hesitation.

Kristen is amazing. She took care of everything from the seating chart, to the time table, to feeding the band and making sure all the vendors knew where to go and what to do. I didn't have to do anything. Oh and did I mention the food was amazing?!? We did family style which made the whole meal seem comfortable and intimate. Another big plus, they use mainly locally sourced items. THIS IS NOT WEDDING FOOD! I still have people telling me how good the food was weeks after the wedding.

I can't say enough positive things about Royal Fig and Kristen Stacey. They went above and beyond for our April 2011 wedding at Camp Lucy. In addition to the incredible food, service, and presentation, Kristen even counted the # of guests in the chapel before the wedding began, knowing that we had a few guests who were late, and then asked us if we wanted to wait a few minutes to start our ceremony to allow all guests time to arrive. I never would have thought to do that! So helpful! I highly recommend Royal Fig for any special events you may need (they did our rentals too, and it all turned out great).

If you can book Royal Fig, DO IT. They are fabulous. The food is absolutely delicious and Kristen and her husband are a true pleasure to work with. In addition to doing the food and drinks, Royal Fig did our wedding favors--tiny jars of delicious homemade jalapeno jelly. They were a big hit. We simply could not be happier with Royal Fig and could not recommend them highly enough!

Food was super yummy! They were very flexible in our choices and changes to the menu (which we had a few of!). The big day went great!

We had the great fortune of having Royal Fig cater our wedding this past March 2011. From the moment I found the site and reviewed the deliciously out-of-the-ordinary menu selections, I knew that they would play an integral part in making my wedding vision come to life. Kristin is as professional as they come. Whatever you can dream up, she, the amazing chef and talented staff can make happen...even better than you could imagine! Royal Fig has an impeccable reputation around Austin that is well deserved due to their impressive knowledge of local vendors, venues and overall creativity in food services and event planning. My guests raved over the food, specialty drinks and all the important little details Kristin and her staff helped plan for our special day. Their passion for food and for their clients is present in everything they do.

I love you Royal Fig!We chose Royal Fig for our wedding and they did an amazing job. Throughout the entire process, Kristen was there to answer all of my questions (multiple times even) and offer up great suggestions without being pushy or invasive in any way. She was serioulsy a god-send, since I am the first in my family to get married, so we started out pretty clueless. The was the first vendor I chose, and thank God! She did everything from helping me coordinate colors, to designing our DIY centerpieces, to helping me find great vendors at discounted prices. She helped so much. Any vendor that works with me to help me save money without me having to ask gets HUGE props. The food was totally delicious. We went with upscale comfort food appetizers, like mini sliders, pork belly sandwiches, mini gorment pizza, maccaroni and cheese, etc. We also had a french fry bar which was so fun and a huge hit. She worked with me to get the menu perfect over the course of the year that I planned my wedding until I was totally satisfied. She is amazingly patient and great to work with.The presentation was perfect - everything went with our theme and colors and the staff was amazing. Kristen did an awesome job directing us throughout the night and making sure everything was on cue and ran smoothly. She made sure I was satisfied and that we all had a fantastic time. I couldn't have asked for more.

After our experience with Royal Fig at our wedding in Dripping Springs, we don't understand why a couple would ever consider using anyone else. Kristen was unbelievably responsive, organized, thorough, pleasant, and helpful throughout the months leading up to our wedding, and the food was fantastic. The tasting alone was probably the best meal I'd had in recent memory. Our wedding was a winter wedding, so we chose all sorts of seasonal dishes (including the best gumbo I've ever had). Kristen helped us whittle down all the options to develop a menu that was perfectly suited to our tastes and preferences, the feeling we wanted at the reception, and the reception space itself. She took on all sorts of duties far beyond those that were included in her scope-- space planning, decorating, scheduling-- and we were unbelievably grateful that she led us through so many issues that we'd forgotten or just hadn't thought of. At the wedding and reception the entire Royal Fig staff was completely professional and knew exactly what they were doing. They kept things running smoothly amidst the chaos of all our family and friends, and now looking back on things we know we wouldn't have been able to pull it off like we did without all of Kristen and Royal Fig's help. And the food-- so good. Exactly what we'd hoped for. Our guests loved it (they still haven't stopped talking about it two months later), and more than a few of our friends gave us the "these are the best _____ I've ever had," with the blank filled in by about everything that was on the menu. Looking through our wedding pictures our only regret is that we didn't eat even more than we did... we can't stop thinking about the food. If there was a Royal Fig restaurant, we'd become regulars. We can't say enough good things about RF. We talked to lots of different caterers before we found them, but as soon as we sat down with RF and tried their food the choice was obvious.

Royal Fig was everything we were looking for in a caterer. By the time our wedding rolled around, we felt like they were just a couple of the wedding guests who happened to bring and cook amazing food and yummy drinks. What we enjoyed the most about using Royal Fig was the fact that if you booked your wedding with them, we had them the whole weekend. They catered our rehearsal dinner and our wedding and were on hand for anything else we needed. The food was incredible and their service impeccable. If I were to do it all over again, I would DEFINITELY use Royal Fig. They're an absolute gem!!

Royal Fig did an amazing job at our wedding. The food was absolutely incredible and our guests are still talking about it! Not only was the food great but had it not been for Kristen's constant support during the planning process, her organization, and her flexibility during our event, I know that our wedding would not have been as amazing as it turned out to be. During the whole year that we worked with Royal Fig, Kristen was professional but still felt like a friend. During the event, her staff was professional, prompt, and super helpful. (One of the guys actually bussled my dress for me!!) I cannot say enough great things about Royal Fig--BOOK THEM! They won't disapoint you.

The food you prepared was delicious beyond compare, from the cocktail hour and dinner meal to the "special treat" doughnut holes with their oh-so-good sauces toward the end of the evening. Kristen at Royal Fig was absolutely wonderful to work with. It never took her more than an hour to respond to any of my emails-and there were a lot. She was completely on the ball the whole time pointing out things I hadn't even thought of. Her organizational skills make her absolutely perfect for this job!! I ordered rentals through her as well and that made everything so easy. Also they do a BYOB service so we bought our own alcohol which definitely saved us money but they picked it up for us and brought it to the reception which made things much easier for us.The food was awesome! My groom and I were blown away at the tasting and knew instantly we had to hire Royal Fig. The kind of food you get for this price is just unbelievable. They were also able to do family style service which is something I really wanted. It was the perfect blend of formal and relaxed that I was going for.My only minor complaint is that they would not send a plate of food with the Groom and I after the wedding. They gave me many reasons for this which I understand but unfortunately we really didn't get a chance to eat at the wedding and ended up ordering room service that night. We got compliments from our guests on the food so I was just disppointed we didn't get more of an opportunity to enjoy it.I highly recommend Royal Fig!

we loved the food the moment it hit our tongues! guests have commented all week on how wonderful everything was and how lovely everything was displayed. the staff was efficient and courteous. dan & stacy couldn't have been nicer to work with. i would most wholeheartly recommend royal fig for any of your catering needs. provo!!!

Royal Fig catered our wedding on July 10 at Mercury Hall. They were amazing! From start to finish, we received great care and professionalism in planning and carrying out the menu and event details. Kristen Stacy helped us choose a gourmet, family-style feast. Our menu included watermelon gazpacho with mixed green salad and feta, pork tenderloin and peaches, poached turbo with olive tapenade, sirloin burgers with truffle butter and duck fat fries, sage brown butter broccolini, creole mustard mashed potatoes, roasted tomatoes with artichokes and gruyere, corn bread, popovers, and champagne gelee with berries for dessert. The prickly pear margaritas were extremely popular. Some guests told me it was the best margarita they have ever had, and I definitely agree. We also had a kids menu of macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders and fruit. Really, the options for a great menu are endless with Royal Fig. They have an extensive menu and will create or customize any dishes to your liking. The champagne gelee was an item Dan Stacy customized for us based on some of the ideas we stated during our first consult with Kristen. Every single item on the wedding day tasted incredible and looked beautiful. Dan is an extremely talented chef. Weeks after the wedding, people were telling me the food was not only the best "wedding food" they ever had, but maybe one of the best meals they ever tasted. I've never planned a wedding before, so I didn't see the need in hiring a wedding coordinator. If you use Royal Fig, you won't need to! Their intern, Natalie Osborne, helped me with everything from linens, room arrangements and the ever-important wedding timeline. All of the little details I never thought of doing were under control. They took care of the rentals as well. When we walked into the reception, Kristen greeted us with glasses of champagne in our toasting glasses we wanted to use for the reception. She kept things rolling right on time, and consulted us as needed if anything needed to be adjusted. I would be remiss if I did not state what a great value Royal Fig was for us. I shopped around and got quotes from other caterers before visiting Royal Fig. I was shocked at the prices being charged for "appetizer only" meals or cheap buffet chicken dinners. Their cost compared to the gourmet dinner Royal Fig offered was insulting. Royal Fig has a great al a carte system, so we could choose what we wanted, such as appetizers, entrees, side dishes, beverages, linens, china, cake cutting service, set up, waitstaff, bartenders, etc. Everything was itemized and flexible. They even have very casual menu options, too, if you are looking for a more low key affair. If you want people to talk about how great your wedding was for a long time to come, then Royal Fig is the answer. Thank you, Royal Fig, for a stress free, memorable wedding. You really made the day!

When I was planning my wedding the last thing i wanted was "wedding food." You know what I am talking about, food thats good because you are a guest and it's free. My husband and I love ridiculously good food and Royal Fig gave us that and so much more. Where do I start: Food, they went above and beyond to fulfill our crazy pig roast request. . Im talking everything but the oink! I, the bride, along with just about everyone else was going up for seconds and thirds. Staff: seriously words cannot express how great Kristen and Dan are to work with. They are flexible, open minded, helpful, and most importantly just great people. The staff they brought along was incredible. The bartenders and waiters had smiles on their faces all night. They were professional, friendly, and quick with making drinks. In the end, Royal Fig talked to us about our vision, took it an ran with it. The reason we fell in love with them in the beginning was because they were open to trying new things. With them, its not here's what we have to offer, its tell us about what you want on your wedding dayl My wedding was the best day of my life and I owe half of it to them, and I guess the other half to my husband. = )

I don't have the words to express how satisfied I am with Royal Fig. They are beyond wonderful at what they do, and even though I know they are booked for months, I have been recommending them to anyone who will listen - and I will continue to do so! Though several vendors and people played a role in making my wedding day as amazing as it was, I am 100% sure that Royal Fig is the reason everything went so well.The food was amazing, they worked with me to execute our vision for the food perfectly. Kristin is a true professional who makes sure that everything she does is worthy of putting the Royal Fig name on. The pricing was incredibly reasonable, especially for the unique way that Dan cooks (locally, organically, fresh). I really cannot praise this team enough!

We loved working with Royal Fig for our wedding. The food was delicious. We started with an initial theme for our food, and they were able to craft an amazing menu that was upscale enough (for us), but not too fussy (think "family style" Southwestern fare). We wanted "hands on" food, lots of sharing and plate passing, and a menu that was different than your typical wedding fare. The guests loved the food! People are still talking about the Vera Cruz Shrimp Shooters that were part of the passed appetizers, and the Cumcumber Lemonade. Kristen was always quick to respond and follow up. As a team, Kristen and Dan are so flexible and accommodating, and were really out to give us exactly what we wanted. Dan did not bat an eye when we asked for less pulp in the drink, or requested ice cream served out of the carton. They even tracked down the specific napkins we wanted (yes, we are that picky, but everyone is on their wedding, right?). The catering staff was professional, friendly, and super efficient. It was almost if I did not notice them, but somehow they were there right when we needed them (another drink, perhaps?). Everything was perfect. I would recommend Royal Fig to anyone.

Both Dan and Kristen of Royal Fig Catering are extremely helpful and responsive when it comes to dealing with any question you may have or problem that may arise. I felt extremely calm on the day of my wedding, knowing that they had every last detail taken care of. Plus, we got a ton of positive feedback from our guests about the food- some said that they had never been to a large event where the food was as fresh and delicious as theirs was. Knowing that my guests had a great time due to their hard work and dedication makes it worth every penny!

Kristen and Dan are absolutely amazing! The food for our wedding was exquisite. They worked with us to make everything perfect; even taking care to make me a vegetarian meal even though the rest of the party would be eating meat.

The food was fresh, delicious and unique...and everything was presented beautifully! In our time working together, Royal Fig was always punctual, easy to work with, and they consistently stayed in communication with me. It's always a relief when you know you can recommend someone with absolutely no hesitation. It has been a pleasure to work with Kristen and Dan, and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

This was some of the best food I have ever eaten. Each guest chose either wine or beer. I chose wine and got to taste 5 different wines, and my entire menu was catered to compliment the wine. (The beer people had different food, that complimented their beer tasting). There were numerous courses. The food was delicate, gourmet, interesting, succulent, creative and had amazing presentation. Plus, Kristen, who does the booking and management of Royal Fig, is super friendly, on the ball, pleasant and fun. Fantastic all around! I am still getting compliments on the food I chose for my wedding!!!

Royal Fig catering is truly one of our favorite caterers in Austin. Their custom menus with local ingredients, amazing flavor, and every dish cooked to perfection make them an obvious choice. Make sure you call early, because they only take as many clients as they can truly serve with the highest level of service. We are still dreaming of the last meal we had that Royal Fig made....

The Royal Fig team was an absolute joy to work with on a recent wedding out in the Hill Country. They were quick, efficient, and eager to help in any way possible. The Royal Fig catered a wonderful event at our venue this past weekend. They not only provided a scrumptious Italian styled meal that everyone raved about, they also provided rental chairs and tables for the ceremony and the reception, and helped coordinate the whole event. This caterer goes all out both on the food and the service. I also hear that the chocolate mousse martini was so rich it was to die for. I only wish I could have tried it!

Dan and Kristen are a perfect team! They blow clients and vendors away with their creative ideas and new ideas on cruisine. They provide high quality meals for your family and friends to enjoy.
