Filene's Basement- Running of the Brides

I got a Vera Wang dress for $699!!! All the horror stories are untrue! All the brides and their helpers were friendly and helpful....in fact many "teams" helped in my dress hunt because I only had one "helper" there. If you live close to a Filene's, you should definitely check this out!

Fun way to find a designer wedding dress at a great price!!! I did the August 2007 running of the bride in Washington D.C. at a Filene's basement. You miss out on the boutique-style experience, but it's worth a try to find a gem that doesn't break the bank. My friends and I had a blast.

I ended up buying my dream dress at this amazing sale. This was such a fun and memorable experience and I really recommend it!!! My mom and I went to the sale at 10am. There were still tons of dresses and it was not too chaotic. I found my wedding dress, a Romona Keveza that was in perfect condition that only needed minor alterations. I got it for only $700!! I had been to a few bridal shops before to look around, which is a good idea because you get an idea of what you like. The dresses are not in any order by size, designer or style so this really helps.

If you ever want to experience an amazing time during your wedding planning, you have to try Running of the Brides. It is when a bunch of designer bridal gowns are put in a Filene's Basement and future brides rush in to find the perfect..very low discounted gown. I got my gown for $250!! It was normally over $1000! I love it and it was def. worth the rush! Plus it is so exciting and a blast to do with friends or bridesmaids!!
