S Fine Catering

We had our wedding reception here on 4/21/2012 and it turned out to be a success!

We're highly recommended S Fine !! If you are looking for a warm and cozy wedding that can hold up to 240 guests, this place is exactly what you are looking for.

In the beginning we searched throughout Southern California for a venue that represent us: Vietnamese-American stuck to both cultures. We want the setting to be warm and cozy, fitting our guest list of 200. Most places were either too expensive (Hotel reception Hall, etc.) or too typical (Asian venues serving Chinese courses that anyone who'd attended a Vietnamese wedding know what to expect). There are places that are not very flexible requiring us to go with their own vendors. It was our photographers, who did many sessions at S Fine, that recommended us to stop by for a look. We emailed Stephanie, owner and chef, for a consultation and we are glad to have done so.

Our first consultation with Stephanie pretty much made the decision for us. Stephanie is very detail oriented, straight forward, and very honest. We love her honesty as it is very refreshing and put into perspective of what we can expect. She is also very creative. Having done many weddings and obsess with event planning, she can give you so many ideas as you plan your wedding. We had over 5 meetings and countless emails regarding decorations, escort cards, theme, etc. She knows her restaurant best and can tell you what works and don't. Moreover, Stephanie is always there for you. She personally served us when we had our food tasting, was there when we drop off wedding materials, and was there the whole night of our our reception. Never had we encountered someone more genuine in customer service than Stephanie.

Our first impression of the restaurant when we entered was, "How can we fit 200 something guests in here?". But let us assure you that look can be very deceiving; we attest to this. The restaurant decor is earthy and warm, simple yet elegance. There is a patio seamlessly connected to the main restaurant. On the left is a smaller room we used to entertain our guests for cocktail hour.The restaurant itself without additional decor can be use as a banquet. Once all the normal table were replaced with the table used for wedding ( we had squared table of 12) the place really open up. We had wall uplights that brought out the earthy brown of the restaurants, warming up the place immediately. We didn't have any additional drapery, except for the backdrop use for guest photo. Our guest who sat in the patio felt warm, comfortable, and still be part of our wedding. Stephanie did an amazing job setting up all the tables. She personally help us set up a sweet table that look amazing and beyond our expectation. We love the way our decoration turn out.

The food here is what set this place apart from all other wedding venues. Every dishes are inspired by Vietnamese courses; they taste like Vietnamese dishes but only better. What we love most is that each courses is individually portioned so the guests do not have to fight over who get the lobster tail and who get the claw. The appetizers were so good that during our cocktail hour, the food was gone before the server can take ten steps, seriously. Our guest raved about the yummy appetizers! Some can't forget about the sea bass perfectly cook, or the twice cook ribs that was amazing. The servers were extremely nice.

We enjoyed everything that happened at our wedding. When we first entered the restaurant on the day of the reception, it was a wow moment like seen on Extreme Home makeover, honestly. Everyone who went to our wedding gave positive feedback and rave about the food, decor, and the coziness of S Fine. Our wedding looks more expensive than the bills. We personally recommend Stephanie and S fine to our friends and all of you who are looking for a great Vietnamese restaurant serving Vietnamese foods, with honest, genuine owner, servers.
