Sage Events was hands down one of the best choices for vendors for our wedding. I did the wedding planning by myself with the support of my now wonderful hubby. Sage was the only caterer, out of 6 we interviewed, that worked with us on all levels: food selection, in house baked goods, amazing staff and very reasonable price for our budget. We loved them and guarantee you will too. Happy planning!

Sage Events is an amazing company to work with and I know that they will always provide the highest quality of products. As an Event Planner, I swear by using Leslie for all my catering needs. She loves to create unique menus for each of her clients and strives to make everything flawless. She knows how to create gorgeous displays with delicious food and is always ready to help with anything you need! I highly recommend Leslie to every bride who wants to get married in or around NYC.

I felt completely at ease with Leslie and trusted her feedback. She always came up with great ideas after listening to our thoughts. During the stressful time of planning my wedding I knew I could count on her to get the job done. We were very happy with the look and taste of our food at our wedding and got many accolades from our guests.

It was very difficult picking a caterer long distance for our daughter's wedding. We were very fortunate that we picked Sage Events for the reception at the Picnic House in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The entire event and food service and price was exceptional and we would highly recommend them again.

Sage Catering was amazing! I really can't say enough about their food and the service. Even two years after our wedding we always get compliments on how amazing the food was at our wedding.

Leslie has such a good understanding of what kind of food will work for your wedding theme and she will work within your budget. The staff is on point and without me being alerted they fix some issues that were the result of my poor planning. If you use Sage you will have peace of mind that your food and food service will be flawless. Worth every penny we spent.

Sage prepares both traditional and contemporary food, using the freshest naturally-grown produce, meats and poultry. We seek out small, family-run farms and local purveyors to bring you food full of authentic flavors. We drive fuel efficient vehicles, compost our waste and make recommendations on repurposing decor and floral.

Leslie Nilsson, founder and creative guru, has over 20 years of experience catering New York area weddings--clients hire Sage for our extensive knowledge of venues, menu planning and the best way to run a DIY wedding space (not to mention Leslie's diplomacy skills when mother and bride have two very different visions). Yes, we can hold the tasting at our eatery, Sage General Store, in Long Island City, or at the showroom on 5th Avenue at 28th Street, whichever is more convenient for you.

Are you also able to provide the wedding cake?

We work with several hand picked wedding cake makers and will refer you to the right designer for your budget and tastes.

If a bride decides to bring her own wedding cake, do you have a cake cutting fee? If yes, how much is the fee?

Of course you may bring your own wedding cake; our staff are already on site and happy to cut and serve the cake, at no additional charge (we think cake cutting fees and such are obnoxious).

Are you licensed to sell alcohol? If yes, where are you licensed?

We hold liquor liability insurance, so as long as our bartenders serve the liquor, and we purchase a one day caterer's license, we can run the enitre bar for you.

Do you allow outside alcohol? If yes, what is the corkage fee?

Yes, you may purchase your own alcohol, as long as our team serve it. No corkage fee (see above for our view on obnoxious additional fees).

Do you provide rentals for items such as linens and flatware?

We work with the best rental companies in the New York area and will take care of everything at a showroom visit. The bill goes directly to you with no mark ups.

Are you able to provide your own wait staff?

We provide the kitchen, waiters and bar staff, as well as other professionals you may need our help with: coat check, D.J.s, florists, photographers and officiants.
