Courtnay, Pastor Dave and Cindy at Saguaro Buttes made a somewhat stressful event virtually stress-free. Planning a wedding is a lot of work, and these folks understand that. They are professionals. Courtnay took care of everything the day of the wedding, and we only had to sit back and enjoy our day. Pastor Dave made our ceremony fun, and we received many, many compliments on the ceremony itself. Saguaro Buttes is beautifully nestled at the foothills of the Rincon Mountains, surrounded by majestic saguaros and stunning views of the Tucson area, which provides for some amazing sunsets. If you're looking for a wedding venue that provides a spectacular backdrop with ease of planning, this is the place to go.

Everything was perfect!! absolutely wonderful! I wanted my wedding at saguaro buttes from the moment I stepped foot in that beautiful place. The process was effortless and the staff was always helpful and available. Our wedding day came and everything was breathtaking. We are extremely happy with Saguaro Buttes.

Saguaro Buttes was a fantastic place to have our wedding. The staff was incredibly organized and responsive throughout the duration of the wedding planning process. My husband and I loved the facilities and the different backdrops to take pictures by. We got married on a rainy summer day but they helped work around the weather so that we could still have an outside ceremony. The effort the staff put into that meant a lot to us.

Saguaro Buttes was awesome and the staff was amazing. They worked with me on every thing I needed and were flexible with my schedule. Especially, when my husband was away on military leave. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I already have 3 times. :-)

Kimberly and the other girls at the Buttes were amazing. They took care of everything for me and made planning the wedding so easy. They were a delight to work with and always went above and beyond. The Buttes was reseasonably affordable, but was well worth the price. They have several different packages, but in them they include the cost of the DJ, catering, linens, and officient. The bar is extra, but still affordable. The day prior to the wedding, we we're late getting to the Buttes and weren't able to finish setting up. Kimberly and her staff completed the set up including the center pieces. Everything turned out beautiful. Absolutely beautiful location as well.

Pastor Dave was wonderful! He really customized our ceremony to us. He was punctual and respectful of our wishes. He traveled to our venue downtown. I love how he brought laughter and character to our special day. I HIGHLY suggest Pastor Dave. Everyone kept telling us what a beautiful ceremony it was.

This is the most beautiful ceremony and reception site in Arizona. The girls there were incredibly helpful and professional. The over all cost of our ceremony and reception was amazing. They have great packages that really provide everything you need for a wonderful ceremony and reception. We didn't need to worry about anything but the cake! This is the place to make your day special and stress free!

We loved this venue! Everything was PERFECT!!!!!! I couldn't have imagined having a better place for our wedding. We didn't have to worry about anything. Which was great. The staff are one of a kind and truly made our day much more special!!!!!

I am so happy that I made the choice to have my wedding at Saguaro Buttes. They were very detail-oriented to make sure that the entire day went as smoothly as possible. I got a response to all calls and emails within a few hours, or a day if it was on a weedend. The day of the wedding, I have to say, I was surprised and delighted with their service. They got everything taken care of in a very quick manner. Any request I had that day was taken care of right away. I am so happy that I did not need to stress about all the tiny details that can really stress a person out! The only reason I rated them a 4.5 on professionalism is because one of their coordinators tended to be a slight bit rude. She was never really mean, but she did have that slight sarcastic manner that didn't sit very well with me or my in-laws, who paid for all of the venue costs. I did not rate the bar tending service in with Saguaro Buttes because I know they are a seperate company, but I just want to say that the bar tender was slightly rude and was hassling my guests (and bridal party) about getting tipped. I did not expect my guests to tip, unless they wanted to, and was expecting to tip him in the end. Needless to say, he did not get a tip because of this. Also, his drinks were extremely strong and it worried me because a lot of people were getting drunk early. Aside from that, the wedding was absolutely beautiful. Saguaro Buttes was a wonderful place to work with!

It was everything I expected and more. Courtnay and Cindy were GREAT! The staff was wonderful. I just had issues being locked into a number of guests so early but it all worked out

Saguaro Buttes was great. The venue had nice views and very comprehensive and structured staff. Amazing with details and my guest loved it. We had a night to remember. The only issues were our coordinator who we loved and the reason we went with Saguaro Buttes moved away. Also we requested a gluten free kids meal and my little cousin was served a regular plate. He became very ill. Overall a great experience I would recommend to all!

We selected this venue because it is a one stop shop - coordinator, DJ, food, officiate, beautiful site, bartender, linens ... we only needed to provide the cake, photographer and flowers. Our day was spectacular and made much simpler because of all that they provide.

Coordinators - Cindy was our primary coordinator and is very on top of things. My advice would be when you work with someone else, verify that Cindy has the details you discussed with the other individual ... there were several things towards the end that we discussed with another staff member that were never noted in our file. Fortunately when verifying all the last minute details, we discovered this and nothing was affected, but it made me a little nervous. Our night manager for the wedding was Jen and she was fantastic. Super sweet and accommodating.

Music - Rashid was our DJ and he's a super nice guy ... but our biggest issues were unfortunately related to the music. First thing - We put together nine hours of music and when we provided it to him, I wrote a note saying he could play the music in whatever order he wanted, but to only play the music we provided. But right away he was playing music that we did not provide. A good friend asked him twice to only play our music, but it wasn't until my husband went up to him that he only played our music. However, he did ask our permission to play some of the requests (which we said no to, and he honored). Two - He cut our first dance. I know we're not great dancers, and the song was long, but he really should have asked our permission on that one. My advice, if he's playing music you don't want, you or your spouse need to be the one to say something, and verify with him that he will not to cut your first dance.

Food - The food was great. We had heard some mixed reviews from people who had been there before - so we weren't sure, but it really was good and the guests seemed to like it. The only issue ... we had ordered mashed potatoes and got red skinned potatoes ... they were good, but my husband and I were surprised to see them on our plates. Also, they were able to do special meals for guests at no charge (vegetarian and celiac).

Officiate - We used Dave from the site. We were a little nervous because we're non-religious, but he was respectful of our requests. He gave us some really great ideas for the ceremony, like writing paragraphs to each other which he read - took the pressure off of us and was still incredibly meaningful. Our guests were really moved by the ceremony.

Site - Oh. My. Goodness. I just love the venue. So beautiful and they've made several upgrades since we initially signed our contract. And, the roses were in full bloom! When we got there for the rehearsal, I was stunned. The roses were huge and bright - almost looked painted! Most of our guests were from out of town and people just couldn't get over how beautiful the venue was.

If our biggest issues were "Mony Mony" being played and the wrong type of potato, I'd say we had an incredibly successful wedding. It was a great day and I would definitely recommend Saguaro Buttes to any bride.

This place was amazing and the staff was perfect. I thought the DJ did a great job of keeping people up and moving and the catering company did everything i wanted to ensure my wedding food was fabulous. I also thought Pastor Dave made my ceremony beautiful and memorable.

Saguaro Buttes did an incredible job on my wedding. The cost was very low for the service that we received. They handled everything before and on our wedding day in a very professional manner, and I honestly cannot complain about a single thing.

Saguaro Buttes was a beautiful reception site for our wedding, especially considering the number of out of town guests that we had. The views could not be beat. People are still talking about it 7 months later! My husband and I live in Chicago, so we only had one week to plan the entire wedding when we were in town over Christmas. The Buttes was so flexible letting us come in whenever they could give us any time in order to make all of the arrangements. They also pointed us in the direction of different vendors and made my life that much easier. My only complaint is that when I called to give my final head count for the wedding, I was told that we now had to bring in all of our own alcohol. Apparently notices were sent out with the prior month's bill, but since our balance was paid in full, we never received it, and were never called to say we needed to take care of that. Added stress so close to the wedding was not appreciated.

OVERALL: Saguaro Buttes is amazing! My husband-to-be and I visited it on our first day of venue visits and I loved it. Even though we checked out several more locations, I knew we had to have our wedding at Saguaro Buttes (and we live way on the west side of town, so this was quite a drive for us). It was everything I'd always wanted: outdoor ceremony area, wide-open desert views, ceremony and reception in one place, plus other goodies like a clean, newer space. After doing price comparisons between all the venues we visited, it was clear that Saguaro Buttes offered one of the best values.
In January of this year (2010), Saguaro Buttes split from the "Reflections" association and went on their own. We were a little concerned about how that would affect operations, but we thought they did a great job. They had it all down to a science, so their experience was evident. They made several upgrades to the property during the year, which we were very excited about. An already beautiful place was made even more beautiful and I couldn't wait for our guests to experience its beauty.

PLANNING STAGES: We were planning our wedding only 8 months out, so we had less time than I would have liked to get stuff done. Saguaro Buttes has a different system for figuring out the guest count, which made it necessary for us to get the best possible guest count estimate 6 months before the wedding! It wasn't easy trying to get our guests to commit so far in advance, but somehow it worked out ok. Still, we had a few empty seats on the day of the wedding and had hired too many babysitters.
We used Saguaro Buttes' list of recommended vendors from which to choose our photographer, florist, and guest accommodations. It was helpful when meeting the various vendors at the local bridal shows. We used Rashid, the house DJ, who worked out fine; I never put much stock in DJs, so my expectations were met.
Cindy is the wedding coordinator and I definitely recommend getting the details, as well as answers to any of your questions and concerns from her. She is pretty prompt at getting back to you on your emails and phone messages (just remember that they are closed on Mondays!). Pastor Dave, the officiant, is really friendly and did a great job with the wedding ceremony. In our meeting with him to plan the ceremony, he asked for our input to tailor it to us and also gave us some great advice. Courtnay, the night manager in charge on our wedding day, stayed very busy behind the scenes. She even circled on our inventory list the items that she bagged for us after the wedding and gave it to us when we picked everything up the next day. Being a list-maker and very organized person myself, I really appreciated it.

DOWNSIDES: We picked a Friday wedding and figured that we could decorate the reception room the day before, but were told that there was a wedding on Thursday; October is very busy. Somehow, we didn't find out until our rehearsal (2 days before the wedding) that the Thursday wedding was going to be one of those "simple, but elegant" weddings, meaning that the reception area would not be used. By then, it was too late to get our stuff over to the venue on Thursday because we hadn't planned for it and were rushing to get stuff done on time even for Friday! Also, we were told that we were in charge of the table centerpieces and I took that to mean all of the decorations placed on the tables. In the end, the venue staff jumped in and started putting things on tables and I had already assigned those duties to a group of friends. I had spent a lot of time devising a schedule and everyone knew what they were in charge of. Not that it wasn't great to have the venue staff's help, but if I had known they would help, I would have given them a copy of my plans and not spent so much time organizing and coordinating my friends. Because of all of this, a few things didn't get done how I wanted them done. Finally, we ran into a problem with the hair and makeup schedule because in order for the artists to do hair for 5 and makeup for 4, they needed to start by 11 am, but our contract said we couldn't have access to the site until 1 pm (we had to be ready for photos at 3 pm). The hair and makeup artists said that they had done this before at Saguaro Buttes and not had problems, so it was a shock to them when Cindy told me that we couldn't do it. She had scheduled contract signings, tours, and other activities up until 1 pm on the day of the wedding. We had to do the hair and makeup off-site and weren't able to get all of the planned pre-wedding photos, which I am sure we would have been able to if we had already been at the venue getting ready.

CONCLUDING REMARKS: Nevertheless, my wedding day was beautiful and everyone seemed to love the place and have a good time. I only wish I could have had more time to visit with friends and family. It went by so fast that I keep saying that I want to redo it (my husband thinks I am crazy : ) ). At the very least, I would like to be a guest at a wedding at Saguaro Buttes so I can take in the gorgeous views and enjoy myself in a way that I couldn't on my wedding day!

I live all the way in Oro Valley, AZ, but when I made the hour drive out to Saguaro Buttes to check it out as a potential venue it was so BEAUTIFUL I knew I had to have it! Courtnay is wonderful to work with and was absolutely spectacular during the wedding by being extra accommodating and attentive. All of our guests could not stop gushing over how beautiful everything was.

The location was beautiful, the views were breathtaking, the details were perfect and the food was delicious! We had a Saturday morning Champagne Brunch wedding, and it was both so romantic and original, and our guests constantly told us how creative it was and how much fun they had! The food was just yummy, and that was what we were most critical of. The only downside I didn't like was when you have a daytime wedding, you have the location from 7AM to 2PM and that just isn't enough time given that the wedding didn't start until 10AM. When 2PM came, we were rushed out of the room and while our guests were still gathering their things to leave and everyone was saying their goodbye's, the staff started to pull the linens off the tables and break down the tables! Talk about making people feel unwelcomed! That angered us the most because we felt as though the next wedding that day was more of a priority than ours, and that our day was just over because of the clock. I do highly recommend this place though because it was beautiful, nearly everything was provided, and it was a great value for the scenery!

We had such an amazing wedding at Saguaro Buttes. Like all weddings there are little bumps in the road. Fist my pastors microphone kept cutting out so on my wedding video you cant hear him a lot of time. Also I had my best friend read a poem diring the sand ceremony and she was suppose to have a microphone but they did not provide her one even though we talked to them about it a few times. Luckly my pastor was quick on his feet and took his off him and held it towards her mouth while she talked. One last thing that threw me off was we had to do set up all the center peices. We did not expect to have to do that. It may have been mentioned to us but I don't remember. Besides all that everything was great. The ceremony moved along great. And even before the wedding they were a big help. They know the wedding biz inside and out. My mom had a ton of questions for them all the time and they always got back to her right away. They allowed me to bring diffrent memebers of my family on MANY diffrent days to show them the venue which I thought was really nice. The place was always clean and always fresh. Also the views are GREAT! They have windows all over the place to show off what a beautiful location they have. Many of my familys memebers want to have their wedding there now! All and all it was a great place!

They were really nice helping find everything. I liked working with them until the wedding... When I was leaving I had put a pile of my stuff on one of the tables so we could move it to the car and they ended up throwing away a piece of my grandmothers wedding dress. It was heartbreaking because she passed away when I was young and it was something special to me. When I asked if they had seen it they said no and promised they would look for it but they never did.

We had a lot of last minute things that they helped us out with SO much. Pastor Dave is unbelievably great! I have never heard so many compliments on the service itself, he really did an incredible job. They helped us remote-in our best man via iphone and skype to watch the ceremony and give his toast, it was so awesome.

My only complaint and why I can't give them perfect in Professionalism and Service is this: When we first signed our contract with Saguaro Buttes, we had this LOVELY young lady who we really, really liked. We trusted her and she knew exactly what we wanted. She was seriously great, unfortunately she moved away and I understand that is out of their control. However, they replaced her with this blond lady who was so nasty and rude to my ENTIRE bridal party that we referred to her as "the blond one". She was just completely rude to my sisters and totally unhelpful when anyone asked for any assistance unless it was me. The kicker? She was ultra sweet to my groom's party. It was just absolutely ridiculous. I cannot get over how rude she was to my girls.

What saved us from me actually going out of my way to inform her how utterly nasty is how completely AMAZING the DJ was!! I loved Rashid! I seriously want to recommend him to everyone, he was so nice and really funny. He made everything go so smoothly, I was so impressed by him.

I have done numerous on-location Airbrushing Makeup applications and Hair stylings at the beautiful Saguaro Buttes. The staff is by far one of the BEST in all of Arizona, so gracious and attentative to the Brides every need. Their prompt attention to detail is one that far supasses the average. I highly recommend them future weddings!
