Worth every penny!I never imagined I'd buy my dress at Saks, but after visiting a variety of "well known" boutiques both in DC and New York my mom and I stumbled into Saks on a whim. The service was exquisite--no pressure, and my consultant genuinely listened to what I wanted. The dresses are more affordable than you might think too. I did pay a bit more than I originally budgeted for, but the quality and level of service i got from my consultant and seamstress were spectacular. I never questioned for a moment that my dress would be perfect. Many thanks to Jill, my consultant, and Luccia, my seamstress (who built me a bustle!) for all their help and support. P.S. Alterations were included, which made a big difference in the total price! Ask!

My experience with Saks was unreal. I worked with Imu. My appt was for 1 hour and in an hour she showed me 4 dresses. She inisted that she knew what I wanted based off my pictures that I brought in. The 4 dresses were nothing what I showed her. She just insisted that SHE knew what I wanted. She referred to me as "darling", looked at herself in the mirror fixing her hair as she was talking to me and just insulted me the entire time. My mother and I were speechless. I really didn't know whether to laugh out loud at this woman or cry. She told me I should just go to Kleinfelds or Bergdorf b/c Saks only dresses the best. My hour flew by so fast b/c I had to listen to her talk about how she dressed barbara streissan, only the best. On and on, before I knew it my time was up. She told me my idea's were "SO THREE YEARS AGO". My idea was the one shoulder strap that is out in all the high fashion magazines right now and refused to go get me a one shoulder dress. It was just mind blowing. I can't beleive someone would send a customer to another salon. I think Imu has overwelcomed her stay at saks, it's time for her to throw in the towel. I think she is too old for this job.....Thank god I have the ability to let things role off my back b/c we laughed so hard when we walked out of there. In the words of Imu, "you are better off going to Bergdorf"

Worked with Jill to find my dress, who both listened to the type of dress I wanted, as well as suggested some other dresses that I might like. She wasn't pushy at all, and was honest about her opinion of different dresses, which was helpful. As great as Jill was, I think the real superstar is Kay, my seamstress. She told us what bustle would look best with the dress, what to wear under the dress, what shoes would be best, etc. It was clear that she was an expert at what she does, and even the minor alterations that she made on the dress made a big difference in how I looked on my wedding day.

I went in to look WAY before the wedding, not thinking I was going to find anything, but I did. I met one of the nicest people ever, Josette, she wasn't pushy, she was just like a member of my family! I never had one problem with anything for the dress. I had a custom muslin fitting, and the fitter for Ulla Maija came to Saks to do it for me, no extra charge. They were truly a pleasure to work with, and I wish I could go there all the time and get that personal attention!
