I had to admit I expected a whole lot more from Sax. I live in Los Angeles but was in SanFran when I found the dress of my dreams. I flew back to the store to get fitted for the dress 4 times since they would not ship the dress to Los Angeles where I live. Everytime I went in the sales people were rude, acted like they did not want me there and just plain mean. The kicker for me was when the dress finally arrived at my home (3 days before my wedding) as they were unable to ship it sooner, it had two big shoe prints on the back that I had to pay an extra $75 to get dry cleaned again 3 days before my wedding. Needless to say I will never buy from Sax again which is sad because I shop at the LA store all the time.

I purchased my Kenneth Pool gown at Saks San Francisco, and also entrusted Saks with the alterations. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Kathy Moore was a tremendous help requesting gowns from other stores, was very knowledgeable about the Kenneth Pool line, and seemed genuinely to enjoy her job.
I recommend opening a Saks account for a 10% discount on your purchase. If your schedule is flexible, you can also buy during one of Saks' special promotional events for additional savings. Every once and a while, Saks offers a gift card in exchange for large expenditures. My "free" gift card covered the alterations of the dress ($450).
I highly recommend Saks SF, Kathy, and Kenneth Pool!

Excellent service, very expensive. But of course if you want Vera Wang - where else do you go?

I got my wedding dress custom made in Hong Kong, however, for the final fitting I brought it to Saks Fifth. The bridal service there was superb! Even though I did not buy my dress at Saks, they spent a lot of time going through my final fitting and made all the alternations. I could not be any happier. I would highly recommend them for any wedding (groom or bride) alterations.

I love my dress and I got to wear it twice. I did alterations with the Saks lady (dont remember her name). They did a phenomenal job -- although, it was a very steep flat fee, for something that didn't seem that complicated. I could've been more proactive and try to hire another alterations person, but I just decided to go with the Saks person. Service was good and the atmosphere is good. They make you comfortable when trying on different dresses. I worked with Katherine.

I had a wonderful time shopping for a gown here. I ended up finding a beautiful and very expensive Vera Wang gown that I loved but unfortunately could not afford. If you open a Saks mastercard you can save an extra 10%.

I like the tip by JadeGirl for saving 10% by opening a Saks card. You'll need it here.
Their gowns are outrageously expensive. I'm sorry, but to pay $6000+ for a gown made in China is insane.
But the people who work there were nice and some of the gowns were beautiful. I really think they need to get some more reasonably priced designers though.
