We used the Six Stylez band for our wedding, and the people at Sam Hill Entertainment were so helpful. If you want to book this band, you have to go through them, but they were very responsive and nice. I enjoyed working with them, and the band was so great. They are a group of good looking, young guys and they play so many fun songs (lots of 80s, 90s, and today). Everyone of all ages was out on the dance floor. I highly recommend checking out their website. They have some samples, and you will love them. People still tell me how great they were.

I had reached out to Andy in the very beginning stages of my planning process, when I really had no clue what I wanted. He emailed back and forth, spoke to us on the phone, and was just an enormous help in finding us the music we wanted.

We ended up going with Peter Richardson for classical guitar music during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and the Dickens Band for our reception. I HIGHLY recommend both for any events. Peter was so professional and talented, and the Dickens were an absolute blast and kept the dance floor packed the entire night.

Amaretto was amazing. They took our request for a high-energy reception seriously and really delivered. They learned two new songs and played them beautifully. Several guests commented on how great they were. And they were responsive and professional throughout the planning process. We could not recommend them more highly.

Sam Hill Entertainment helped us find our wedding band, DC Fusion. The selection process, thanks to the easy-to-navigate website and guidance from Andy at Sam Hill, made it easy and fun to find the perfect party band -- which is exactly how DC Fusion performed. The band was there in plenty of time to set up, played dinner appropriate music at a conversational level at the right times, and then really stepped up the party once the dancing got going. We found 10 Spot band on the Sam Hill Entertainment website for our wedding reception. They were the perfect motown/oldies band for our 200+ guests and had everyone on the dance floor until the very end! Thank you for providing a fun and entertaining evening for us.

Sam Hill Entertainment linked us to DC Fusion, an incredible band that absolutely MADE our wedding. Their energy, vibe, harmonies, and funk got everyone out on the dance floor from the FIRST minute and no one stopped dancing all night long. They were a HUGE hit and everyone was raving. We were thrilled and lucky to have them, and their price is a BARGAIN for the quality, tone, and professionalism you'd crave. The saxophonist came out on the dance floor to wow the crowd, the duo thrilled, and they were just so much fun. I highly recommend DC Fusion and the service that Sam Hill provided. Attentive, responsive, and customer oriented right from the get go. You CANNOT go wrong!

DC Fusion is a great band and we would highly recommend them. They were very easy to work with, more than happy to learn a song or two, and readily agreed to play a song so that the bride could surprise and serenade her new husband. Our guests danced all night long and everyone had a great time. The pictures of the evening captured the dance floor packed and smiles on everyone's faces. Since that night, we have had many compliments about the band from our guests.

So glad we worked with Sam Hill Entertainment to find a band for our wedding. Mike and Justine helped us find just the right band that fit our budget, and it was probably the best decision we made for the wedding reception. They were OUTSTANDING!!! They played a variety of music that kept our guests on the dance floor all night long! After the last song, our guests were screaming for them to play another song!! Both lead singers got off the stage and into the crowd. Our guests are still talking about how wonderful they were. In fact, many of them have already requested information from us to pass along to their friends/family for future events. Rick, the sound engineer was easy to work with the entire night and he made sure everything went smoothly. Chris Grasso, the manager from the band, was the contact person we were able to keep in touch with during the planning process. He was always available and he responded to emails within minutes. He answered any questions we had regarding the band and music. I highly recommend using Sam Hill Entertainment to find a band/DJ for your wedding! I especially recommend using DC Fusion as a potential band...they were honestly fantastic!!

The Jangling Reinharts made our wedding a party! We were looking for a slightly unique band that played the classic and modern rock music that we listen to. The JR were perfect for us. Not only did their song list include almost all of our favorite new and old songs but they were flexible enough to learn a few other songs that we wanted them to play. They also rocked out! They were sooo fun and they looked like they were having a blast! We felt at times like we were at a rock concert! Many of our guests commented that they were the best wedding band they had ever heard!

Our band was the Hometown Sweethearts, and they were the BEST BAND EVER. We couldn't afford a giant band like everyone expects, but this three piece knows how to rock out and get people on the dance floor! Their set list was great, everyone was raving about them all night and asking for their contact info. We already want to have another event just for an excuse to book them! By far the best vendor of the night, we will be recommending them to everyone we know in the northeast!
As for Sam Hill Entertainment, their booking company, they were great to work with too. Prompt to questions, available for calls, and our transactions went through very smoothly. Highly recommended!

I can not brag enough about our band, Crystal Clear, that we hired through Sam Hill. Their manager, Beth, was wonderful to work with and very organized. She sent us all sorts of questions to fill out months in advance of our wedding, and they were so nice to fulfilll our requests. The bad was phenomenal too...everyone was raving about how good they were. Chekc them out for sure...they are definitely worth it!

First of all, Andy at Sam Hill Entertainment is extremely helpful - he is VERY responsive on email and by phone. We spent forever trying to pick a band, and other talent agencies would tell us "all our bands are great," but when we found Andy, he was able to really help us narrow down a band that fit our needs.

We chose the band 10 Spot and it was great! We were very happy with them. The circumstances were a little challenging at our wedding venue in that the reception was on the second floor of the building and there was no elevator. So the band had to carry their equipment up. And then they had to set up and sound check during the cocktail hour after the wedding, since the wedding itself was in the same room as the reception. As far as I know, the band did all this without complaint.

To me, the band sounded a little off during the first few songs, though I suspect this was in large part our fault since they couldn't really do a proper sound check due to the cocktail reception going on literally in the next room over. But they quickly corrected and sounded very good.

We thought they did a great job of playing quietly during the meal itself...it was great to have the music, but we could still have conversation. And in the post-meal dance set, 10 Spot was terrific. They pretty much had people on the dance floor the whole time. They sounded awesome, played great songs with a lot of enthusiasm...they made it hard to leave the dance floor!! A number of people told me during and afterward that it was the best wedding band they'd ever heard.

So all in all, we were extremely happy with 10 Spot and Sam Hill Entertainment and would strongly recommend them to others.

We used Sam Hill Entertainment to find a band within our price range. They helped us find a well-priced band that we LOVED- the Venture Rays! The band did a fabulous job learning our first dance song, and played other songs beautifully as well. We got many compliments from our guests about the music. They were also very easy to work with.

We hired BS&M to play at our June 2010 wedding in Washington, DC and they were phenomenal. We picked them just based on a recommendation from Andy at Sam Hill Entertainment - we said we wanted great dance music that would appeal to both our parent's friends and our friends - a mix of oldies, motown, and modern. And BS&M came through in every way!

Quality of Service: Excellent! They played oldies/motown in the beginning and everyone was dancing. Then they got a bit more modern and EVERYONE was dancing - our friends and family loved them. They nailed the hora too! By the end of the night, our guests literally were shouting one more song. They came out and did Billie Jean and it was such a hit. We took a chance picking a band we'd never seen before and I couldn't be more relieved and thrilled with how they played.

Responsiveness: Dave Barton is great to work with. We spoke with him on the phone and told him the style we liked, told him songs we didn't want to play, went over first dance, father-daughter dance, etc. and he was so agreeable. I emailed him a week before the wedding requesting a song that wasn't on their list, asking about volume, etc and he wrote back: "We will get ALL this done for you - volume, song list, Alicia Keys" He put my mind at ease and he delivered!

Such high quality - I would dance to them all night! I would recommend them to anyone.

This band is AMAZING. They knew exactly how to get everyone dancing and keep them dancing for the rest of the night. They were so much fun, interacted with us, and even let me sing with them! I don't think that was such a treat for our guests, but I had a GREAT time. They are worth every penny, and I can't wait to go to another event where they are performing.

We had The Jangling Reinharts play our reception. I LOVE this band. They played a great mix of old and new rock, learned a REM song for our first dance, and kept our friends & older family members alike on the dance floor all night. They also did a great job of keeping things flowing in general--they played quiet but still interesting songs during dinner (loud music during the meal is a pet peeve of my parents) and kicked up the energy after dinner. They clearly know what they're doing, and made sure they had our timeline right, names pronounced right, etc etc (even the details that we didn't think of). These guys are a ton of fun.

We also booked Morewenna Lasko & Jay Pun to play our ceremony through Sam Hill. He plays guitar and she plays violin. They're local musicians who we know & have seen play around town quite a few times, and they were fantastic at the wedding. They were willing to learn a song or two for us, and had plenty of suggestions for the parts of the ceremony where we were at a loss for what music to play. We also asked them to play some of their originals while people were being seated. They braved the cold (in March) & played beautifully.

I'd absolutely recommend both bands to anyone.

We hired The Rhythm Kings of Virginia Beach, VA, through Sam Hill Entertainment for our wedding. They were WONDERFUL! We wanted a band that would keep the dance floor moving all night while providing music that would appeal to both younger and older guests. The band was professional, prepared, and so fun we decided to extend the reception half an hour. Their manager at Sam Hill, Mike Miglino, was consistently responsive, helpful, and always professional. I highly recommend this company - and this band - to anyone looking for an awesome reception.

We worked with Juleen of Jan Davis Entertainment in DC. Jan Davis helped us book of of Sam Hill's (their sister agency) bands-- the Jangling Reinharts.

As for the band, The Jangling Reinharts... They are the most awesome wedding band ever! We wanted a band that played cool cover songs, classic rock and got the crowd moving and they more than exceeded our expectations. They played everything from The Beatles to Journey to Guns N'Roses. Everyone was up on the dance floor the whole night and I would say the band (along with our excellent venue) was the key to our completely awesome wedding. I can't recommend them enough-- and their prices were much more reasonable than most of the stuffy, "wedding bands" in DC. We haven't stopped getting complements on the band.

It was difficult to find a band living abroad, but Sam Hill was able to provide us with a lot of information such as genre, price range, song lists, cds, and even a few dvds of selected bands performing. Andrew was always quick to respond to my emails and was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. We chose Novelty and were happy with their performance. The band was an important element for us, since we are both serious about music, and we feel that our experience was great.

Sam Hill was great to work with. They helped guide us through selecting a band and they were very helpful with scheduling and planning. Our band, E3, was amazing! They made our day!

Through Sam Hill we found Rosetta Stone with the best lead singer. The band was fantastic and accomodating to my needs and the specific sound I wanted. As I wanted three very different sounds to the wedding, for the cocktail hour, dinner and party, the band was totally versatile and willing to be flexible. They sat down with us weeks before the wedding to ensure they had all the songs needed and they understood how best to keep the party going. The party was fabulous, our dance floor was packed!!!

Great company to work with if you are looking for a unique band to play at your event. We had Two Dudes Acoustic Group and they were absolutely fabulous!

We were very happy with our band. We booked the Jangling Reinharts who were everything we had hoped for. Our wedding planner coordinated with Sam Hill and everything worked out very nicely. The music was great and they were very fun as well as professional. Everyone said they had a blast at the wedding. They even let my husband's brother who is a drummer get on stage with them for the last song which was a real hit.

They were wonderfully helpful. We had a pretty low budget and no other entertainment company would help us find a band.

Sam Hill was very easy to work with, they were very prompt and answered all my questions with a timely fashion. The band i chose through them was The Dickens. They were AMAZING! Quit costly but worth it!! None of the guests at my wedding reception never got off the dance floor! It was like we were at a live concert!

We used a band managed by this company called Right Foot Red... they were so awesome.
They have a really wide selections of songs that they play from different eras, my guests made requests that they played. They also have a few remixes of current songs that are great. They were pretty flexible with doing what I needed/wanted. I defiantly recommended them to anyone planning a wedding.

When a band has everyone from grandparents to kids on the dance floor you know you have a winner. I had guests tell me they wanted to throw a party just to hire the band back! We booked the Adrian Duke Projekt through Sam Hill for the wedding. We sprung for the extra 5th piece, so there was a keyboard, drums, sax, guitar, and bass. The band has a New Orleans type sound with a super unique voice in Adrian Duke. They were phenomenal. They play 50s through 80s mostly and they nail every song. The dance floor was packed all night, all special requests were honored, and all pre-requested songs were played. We heard so many compliments about the band from all ages.

We were able to work directly with the band as much as we liked. My husband was on the phone with Adrian or emailing him whenever we had a question. He was very responsive and very polite.

We were very happy with our band. We had Two Dudes Acoustic Group and they were absolutely fabulous! They were wonderfully helpful. We had a pretty low budget and no other entertainment company would help us find a band.

Sam Hill's website is so easy to navigate and listen to prospective bands. We hired The Janitors from Virginia Beach , Virginia. They kept the wedding reception rocking all night but varied the songs so that all age groups were happy. They are worth the price even though it was a stretch for my budget. I would hire them again for any event---great,great musicians!

Music was probably the most important thing to me for the wedding. I researched bands the most. It was challenging finding ones that were available in four months, as well as ones that I liked (fun, professional, engaging and GOOD!) Mike was so thorough and worked with me on everything. He did not give up on me no matter how picky I was. We snuck a preview of the band performing at a wedding and we were blown away. They were our splurge but we booked Sound Nation! I was a little nervous when they sent over the rider because I was envisioning a diva band that would only want white m&ms in their green room or something. Sound Nation was anything but. Completely professional all the way and such a joy to work with. They were very flexible with the space (there were pillars and steps which made the space planning challenging.) They were worth every dollar - very talented group. They read their audience and got the room dancing. Every single person I've spoken to who was at the wedding commented on how great the band was! Every single person. They made our evening a complete blast!

We ended up booking Sound Connection, a 10-piece band that was amazing. Our guests danced the entire night and no one wanted it to end when the band was done.

We booked BS&M through Sam Hill. From beginning to end Sam Hill was fantastic. They were quick to answer any and all questions. Negotiated with the band to get all of our music included. The band was phenomonal. They kept everyone dancing ALL night. We could not have asked for a better band or agency.

Our band, Another Level, was the highlight of our wedding. Sam Hill was professional, helpful and responsive. Another Level was unbelievable...people hit the dance floor before dinner was even over and it stayed packed til the very end of the night. The band leader was sometimes hard to get a hold of because they are so popular and busy, but minimal complaint compared to how great they were.

We used 10 Spot. we have absolutely NO complaints about our band...they were AMAZING!!!!!!! We had NOTHING BUT compliments about them and they made ME dance (and I wasnt drinking) and I do NOT dance!

Sam Hill is the best place to go in Charlottesville if you're looking for a solo artist, band, or dj. They manage a wide variety of musicians, so they streamline payment and contract, but the band (in our case) was entirely unique.

We chose Another Level through Sam Hill Entertainment. Sam Hill helped us choose the perfect band after asking what type of music we wanted to hear. "Another Level" was very reasonably-priced and did an excellent job at the reception. Our guests were dancing the majority of the night and raved about the music afterwards. They were somewhat difficult to stay in contact with which caused some mix-ups at the beginning of the reception, but they definitely made up for it in their performance!

He hired Right Foot Red for our wedding day, through Sam Hill Entertainment. Andy at Sam Hill was great to work with, and answered all of our questions. We had seen Right Foot Red perform at another wedding, and knew we wanted them for ours. We were lucky that they were available and within what we thought was a relatively reasonable price range for a live band.

In the weeks leading up to our wedding, the band leader of Right Foot Red got in touch with us to plan out our final details. He helped us with our timeline, father/daughter dance, and answered our final A/V questions. He was very professional and helpful.

My only note would be that my husband and I spent a long time going through RFR's set list, and selecting specific songs that we liked and didn't like. We sent that song list to the band. We're not sure what happened, because they definitely played songs we asked not to be played.

But - at the end of the day, we didn't really care. All of our guests were dancing the entire time, and many said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I would highly recommend Sam Hill Entertainment and Right Foot Red.

We used Sam Hill to book e3 for our wedding. SamHill was great to work with. The send us a packet with samples from the bands, reviews and videos. I really enjoyed the entire list of sings so that we could compare the genres covered by bands. The only issue we faced was that the band we booked didn't know some of the songs listed on their playlist. If they just make sure that the lists match what songs the band really knows this could save confusion. I had guests requesting Kanye all night because their web site and playlist said they new it. Guests thought that I kept asking not to play it. Ugggghhh just play my Kanye!

We hired the band, Charlie, through Sam Hill Entertainment. They were AMAZING! Everyone loved their performance and they were very willing to work with me in planning the reception playlist. Charlie was very reasonably priced and worth every penny! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great beach music/Motown band! So talented!

Great booking agency to work with. They contacted you, you did not always have to track them down. Offer great bands and their agents are willing to talk to you and give you advice on what band will most likely fit your wedding and reception style and personal tastes! Highly recommend!

We used Sam Hill Entertainment to book our band 'Sound Nation' for our Sept 4th wedding. First, I would have to say that after contacting several other band booking services, Sam Hill was the fastest to respond and had the most options in our price range (FYI: bands are SO expensive, but worth the money!) Sound Nation was a phenomenal band and kept our dance floor packed up until the very last song. They learned our first dance song and sounded awesome! They were on time, dressed professionally and played a great range of songs. Everyone has complimented us on our choice of music. Sam Hill and Sound Nation come highly recommended!

What I liked the most about Sam Hill was the way you could browse through their bands by genre and price range. It made picking a band much simpler. We went with the rock band Vinyl Headlights, and I couldn't imagine having gotten a better band. Everyone loved them, they were very cooperative with meeting all our "wedding" requests like doing the grand entrance, setting up the ceremony songs, which was important as our ceremony music was very non-traditional. I thought the bill paid towards Sam Hill was a little steep, but then again the band made the wedding amazing.

The band Hipshack was great, they had everyone dancing into the night.

The Jeff Decker Band played our wedding.

I have mixed feelings on the band. I felt that Jeff chose to do some things his way, instead of the way that I had planned. Since we were one of the first weddings our venue had and I was very organized, I carefully planned the floor plan and timeline. I sent those items to Jeff. They set up the band in the wrong place - on an angle probably 5 feet away from the dance floor, so it made for a disjointed band/dance floor experience. The speakers were facing the dance floor on an angle, not directly, so it was hard to hear the music and see the band while dancing.

My bigger problem, however, was with the break music/timing. Jeff said they primarily take breaks during times like dinner to keep the flow of the event going smoothly. I discussed this with him and created a 40 minute playlist of fast pop and rock n roll songs and included that on the timeline as the music to play for the last 40 minutes of the wedding. Instead, the band took a break after our bouquet toss at 9:20 and put my playlist on extremely low volume, so it sounded more like muzak, not dancing music. With the band gone and the muzak on low, people started leaving!

So, by taking a break at that time and turning my playlist on low, two things happened - no one danced to any fast pop music during the whole wedding and people thought the wedding was over 10pm, when we still had another hour. I was extremely disappointed because I was counting on that hour as the fun dancing part of the wedding (a part which multiple family members had complained we would miss out on by hiring a jazz band, but I tried to rectify with the playlist that we spent several hours creating).

I had the feeling that Jeff didn't feel like listening to a "bossy bride" when I had emailed him a few times in the last couple of months with questions. I planned the wedding out very carefully and did a lot of research, and all of the other vendors followed my timeline and floor plan. But, I always got back short answers from him that led me to believe he wasn't actually reading/caring about my emails.

Our booking agent, Andy, was very nice and easy to work with. I told him the problems we had, but Jeff basically said it wasn't his fault (that our venue was very particular with him) which might be true, but I still feel like he chose to ignore my timeline and floor plan.

The band sounded good when I could hear them, but to be honest, it was one of the only things I was disappointed with at the wedding.
