It is a public park, so there is bureaucracy involved. There is a lottery held a year in advance in order to reserve the venue, and you may not get the day you want. I got lucky and got our day. I have no complaints. The venue was gorgeous. I will warn though, if it is a hot season, I would be aware that the kelp on the beach below may stagnate and smell. This was not a problem this summer because of the cool weather, but was a big deal the summer before.
