We got married under the Routunda! It was beautiful! All our guests stood around us, and it was perfect!

Beautiful venue, great value if you book the Saturday 1pm-3pm wedding special!

The structure and ambiance of City Hall is unmatched. For an indoor wedding in San Francisco you will be hard pressed to find something at grand and breathtaking. It's not cheap and getting the venue is not easy, but if you can land a date - you won't be disappointed. The process and paperwork might be more than other places, but it's well worth it and the City Hall staff was really friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommend for anyone who can foot the bill.

We got married in San Francisco City Hall on April 2011. The City Hall was absolutely perfect. Our appointment time was at 3:00pm and we were the last couple to be married. The judge was very nice and accomodating. Since we were the last couple to be married, she asked us where in City Hall we wanted to get married. We chose the 4th floor and it was amazing. We had the whole 4th floor all to ourselves. It was the perfect place for us and for our families. We had 20 guests and everyone was just amazed at the location.

My fiance and I wanted an intimate ceremony in a cool space in San Franciso and City Hall was just that. The archetecture is gorgeous and the ceremony was short and sweet. Make sure to book your date early, there were like 30 other wedding happening the Friday we got married. Also, the cost of the ceremony was only $75. (this review is just for the ceremony, we did not have a reception at City Hall)

City Hall is a gorgeous venue, but they hide a lot of costs from you when you go in for an initial meeting with Elsie. Don't be surprised if the bill ends up being 3 to 4 times what you initially imagined and proposed in your budget. Their list of caterers is very limited, you will get hit with a random security guard charge because it's a government building, and you have to set up a tent outside in their parking lot to cook food in--tent fee is close to 10k. If we'd known all these things when we first looked at City Hall, there's no way we would have chosen this venue.

Its a beautiful setting, near a central area of San Francisco. It's close to Main Library, Farmer's Market, Asian Art Museum, etc. The inside was gorgeous. No wonder some high schools reserve this space for their prom. My guests had a wonderful time. I highly recommend and won't ever forget my wedding day.

I am so happy we decided to get married at San Francisco City Hall. What a great experience for us and our guests! There's a lot of getting in line and waiting, so eat before! It was worth it! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a timeless and classic nupital experience.

i didn't like the shots the photographer took, the service wasnt in a good quality or high def as i would expected.. the pictures he took looked very unprofessional and something my guest would take. i do not recommend this at all. the price is very expensive and you will most likely not get high def shot

If you have $15000 or more to spend, have your wedding at the City Hall.
Place is unbelievable beautiful. Nothing in Bay Area can be compared to it.
Gavin also marries couples there.

It was fairly easy to book a date (online) and was very convenient because we were able to get our license and have our ceremony right after. The place itself was breathtaking.

This is a great hall for a city hall wedding, they do them on a beautiful staircase in the rotunda... it is gorgeous site!

San Francisco City Hall was a beautiful place to have a wedding on a tight budget and timeline. The only thing I disliked about it was that there was a meeting on the floor where we did our vows, so people would walk by at times, but it didn't really bother me that much.

the most dramatic, elegant location in the entire city. beware that everything from tables to curtains to lighting are separate and additional so do not consider unless you plan to spend $100K or more on your wedding
GUEST

This is a beautiful venue and free with the cost of a liscence! Downside is that your wedding party must be small, 6-8 people, and if you're interested in having the ceremony in the atrium it is defnitely in public! But that was fine with us, and the photos are incredible!

I had my US wedding at SF city hall which is a beautiful place to get married. It was easy to book it online and cheap if you only plan to have a small wedding. The pics from there are beautiful.
Truly amazing location
The SF City Hall is truly a spectacular place to get married. As a photographer, I was spellbound by the perfect portrait lighting and the endless places on every floor to take exquisite photos. If you have never visited the City Hall in San Francisco...it is simply a fascinating piece of architecture. If you decide to have your marriage officiated there - Please make sure to explore all the nooks and crannies on all the floors!
If you're going to have a City Hall wedding, there is no place more beautiful to do it in than San Francisco's City Hall.
