Reviews for San Gabriel's Horn

A Truly Idyllic Venue - My daughter's wedding took place at San Gabriel's Horn. The outdoor ceremony in the pavilion area was surrounded by natural beauty. The reception with our 60 guests followed in the expansive and tastefully-appointed house; as the reception began, we all enjoyed the gorgeous sunset.Unlike many of the wedding/reception venues I had toured, SGH provides complete flexibility in designing an event. What is or is not included in the rental fee is clear and straightforward. This venue is a great value for the rental fee charged. You can choose a "Do-It-Yourself" scenario or you can arrange to bring in outside vendors. You have the freedom to make your event as casual or as fancy as you wish.Ray, the Events Director, was extremely helpful throughout the planning process and during the weekend of my daughter's wedding. He made excellent recommendations for some outside vendors (the caterer and a party- supplies place from which I rented a tent). These vendors were reliable, very reasonably-priced, and a pleasure to work with. (I am still getting rave reviews from my guests about the caterer's food!).Rather than renting The Horn just for the Saturday evening wedding and reception, I chose to rent from Friday afternoon to Sunday noon. This enabled many of the bride's and groom's friends to stay at The Horn and enjoy a 'party weekend'. It enabled me to not have to worry about any of this young crowd (ages 21 to 25) drinking and then having to drive back to a hotel after the reception.Upon our arrival that Friday afternoon, I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the entire house. The bathrooms and kitchen were spotless. All towels and linens were fresh and clean. In fact, even the outside of the house, especially the pavilion area, appeared to have been meticulously 'polished'.San Gabriel's Horn is a beautifully idyllic venue, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone planning a wedding/reception or other such event (family reunion or just a get-together with a group of friends in a serene and peaceful environment where you can 'commune with nature.').MLoposzko/Kingwood, TX

DIY Venue found: San Gabriel's Horn - Wedding Ceremony and Reception Location Receiving Rave Review
My wife and I planned our wedding ourselves and our biggest headache was the venue. Most places were asking exorbitant amounts of money for both rent and deposit and, in return, were offering us little flexibility or value. We stumbled on San Gabriel's Horn and, at first, were nervous. The pictures on the website were of this massive house that was under construction. We contacted one of the owners and he immediately set us up for a walk-through. What we saw sold us immediately. The house is large and stately, with plenty of room for our 80 guest wedding and reception. The pavilion area offered a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony and there was plenty of parking, despite our initial fears. Ray was with us every step of the way, making sure we were satisfied, making sure we had what we needed. In fact, on our wedding day, when he thought we wouldn't have the chairs he had promised, he drove down to San Antonio to get them for us and set them up before anyone had arrived! He really went above and beyond and we are more than pleased.

Everything was excellent. The house was great and the playground was a big hit for the kiddos. I'm glad we picked San Gabriel's Horn for our wedding; being there made me feel more comfortable and we were able to keep it personal for our closest friends and family.
I have visited here and spoken to the owner. It is a very nice place for a medium size wedding. I really like the layout and view. The house is cozy and very well put together. Their dedicated ceremony site is very pretty as well. NICE PLACE!
