My wife and I reserved Sang Along Entertainment in January of 2012 for our wedding on Sept 29, 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel in Flushing. We shopped through a few DJs and SAE came out best in terms of value and our needs.
We wanted an "Asian Fusion" wedding which would combine a Western style Ceremony with the traditional Chinese Banquet. In the end, we wanted a FUN memorable wedding. SAE surpassed out expectations with flying colors.
We initially met with Jay and he was able to convince us to go with their services. We specifically requested MC Kenny since he was fluent in English & Cantonese. In my opinion, he was the best MC out of all the MCs on their website. We also used them for our Ceremony Music & Color Wash Lighting & their Photobooth.
I was a bit worried that the MC-ing might be a bit "cheesy" as I'm sure everyone's been to one of those Chinese Weddings with a fobby MC/DJ. This did not happen at all. Kenny mixed the perfect amount of Cantonese/English to get the party going. The dance floor was PACKED most of the night and this was due to their excellent song choices and MC Kenny.
These guys know what they're doing. They're an absolute blast and they've helped make our wedding perfect. We have absolutely no regrets at all.
With all that said, SAE and specifically, Kenny, WAS AMAZING. My wife and I are SO HAPPY we decided on using SAE. I originally marked this as 4 stars because of the few bullets I listed below but I decided their exceptional job and service outweighs the negatives. These guys deserve 5 stars!
Our minor complaints:
1) Ceremony Music was only one speaker. The sound was so low that most people could not hear our ceremony.
2) Feeding cost of $25/head. This is already cheaper than what the hotel would have charged for individual meals but I feel $25/head is a bit much for Flushing Chinese food. Regardless, I treated this as a bit of extra tip for SAE
3) We did not communicate as much as I would...

Exceptional service...MC and group speaks fluent cantonese/mandarin/english.
It's hard to find and make arrangements for a Chinese banquet when you don't speak very much Chinese or know/understand the traditions. I was lucky enough to find Sang Along on some knot.com and wedding blog message boards. I met with Kenny (the manager/owner) and some other Sang Along staff in Chinatown and went over their services and what I was looking for. Kenny and Al (our MC) were very professional and knowledge about Chinese culture and traditions. We had a lot of email and telephone communication leading up to the reception day. Al and the DJ crew showed up at the reception site 30 minutes earlier than we expected and were very agreeable to work with when trying to figure out where to set up.
As I mentioned I had no idea what to do nor when to do it and Al, as the MC, handled everything with perfection. He had a rough outline of a timeline (that I threw together) but since he knew more about tea ceremonies and generally what happens at weddings he kept the pace for the evening. Al and his crew did an awesome job and even had "toys" during free dancing! Glow sticks, glow glasess and some of the coolest things we've seen and our guests too!
