Sarah is awesome... We just took our engagement pics last week and had a blast with her. She is easy going and really creative, she looks for the couples style and I think that is what makes her good at her job. I can't wait for her to shoot my wedding.

When I got engaged, a friend pointed me in Sarah's direction. Upon seeing her work, I threw out my list of "possible photographers" because Sarah's work really set a new standard for what I wanted my wedding photos to be.

Sarah's a total pro. She showed up early to both our e-session and wedding, and at both she took BEAUTFIUL, AMAZING photos that have so much more to do w/her talent than it does w/how we actually look. The photos really reflect our personalities and who we are as a couple, and for that we love them.

At our e-session, Sarah miraculously made us comfortable in front of her camera, chatting w/us as if we were old friends and letting us be ourselves. She used the most unexpected backdrops, and when we got the pictures back we couldn't even identify all of the backgrounds but we loved how they came out. The girl knows what she's doing!

At the wedding, I had no worries about Sarah, and for good reason. Looking at the photos makes me laugh, and it also makes me cry. All the emotions of that day are packed into those wedding photos, and seeing it all captured through Sarah's lens is priceless. We don't just have focused "by the book" photos, we have beautiful, heartfelt photos that tell our story and have Sarah's special touch and style to them. THAT is why we hired her, THAT is exactly what we got and THAT is what makes us love our photos.

And another thing: not only is Sarah insanely talented and a pro, she's also just plain nice. I'll be honest--great photos aren't enough for me to give Sarah a 5-star review. She earned the 5th star for being an all-around nice person. :)

Sarah is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Not only is she unbelievably talented, but she is also the sweetest person. Photography was our #1 priority when we started planning our wedding. We searched high and low for a great photographer. We heard many wondeful things about Sarah before booking her last year. Plus, her work speaks for itself.

We feel extremely lucky that she is available to do our wedding in August. Two weeks ago we met up with her for our engagement photo session. She totally rocked the session and made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. The images she captured exceeded our expectations, and we cannot wait to see what she does for our wedding!

Sarah was, by far, THE best decision we made for our wedding day. What impresses me most about Sarah is her true care for her clients. She treated me not just as a bride, but as a friend, and helped me in ways that went beyond her scope of duty. Obviously, as a bride, no matter how organized you are, you simply have not had the experiences that wedding vendors have. Sarah asked me for my day of timeline, and upon realizing that it was lacking, she graciously sent me a great example timeline for me to go off of. She knew I needed help and delivered despite this not being "her job." She was always accommodating with her schedule, and always offered more to us than needed be. Our first face to face contact point with her was at our engagement shoot, in which she offered us way more than what one would expect out of a "free engagement shoot." Sarah was always willing to go above and beyond what was expected or contracted. We never felt once like she could have given us more. She was never far out of contact. I really enjoyed working with vendors that were very tech savvy. I hate having to contact people over the phone. Sarah was very responsive via e-mail, whenever we needed her, at any time of day.

Our pictures turned out absolutely amazing. Sarah was able to capture spontaneity in a way that only the most talented photographers can. She has a rare talent in not only being able to capture the moment, but also to pose people in a way that seems natural and comfortable...something that I was unsure that anyone would be able to pull off with my crowd. Formal pictures are not our thing, but she was able to work with us to give us the best shots possible. Our wedding day was beautiful, mostly in part, because of Sarah's expert eye.

I have sent multiple emails to Sarah asking for her price and availability but I still haven't received a response. It's been several weeks now. Her work looks great on her website and she's great at updating her blog on a weekly basis but it's a little disconcerting that she is so unresponsive.

On one of her recent blog entries, she claimed that she hasn't been receiving emails via her website due to technical difficulties, but I sent multiple inquiries directly to her email address, not via her website and also left phone message as well. She still never responded.

Sarah is tremendously talented. I've had the priviledge in working with Sarah for my engagement sessions, boudoir session, and my wedding. You bet that when I have my first born, I will be calling Sarah for family portraits, and whatever excuse I have to work with her again. I am her number one, biggest fan.

She is a natural. Her work comes with such ease and professionalism. She is funny, sweet, and knows how to capture you at your very best, all while making you feel like you were born to be infront of the camera. I love her style. Although I cannot describe it as well, I know that it is unique to her and it works perfectly for me. I think that her post-processing skills are the absolute best in the industry! I cannot say enough about Sarah...

A good friend of mine who was married a little over two years ago gave me the best advice ever regarding wedding budget and priorities. She encouraged me to find a a great photographer as the wedding pictures are really the only things that will last. She said, "Wedding pictures are really the only gift you can give yourself-find and book a photographer YOU WANT, you wont regret it because everything else bought are really purchases for guests of the wedding-you'll be lucky if you get to eat the dinner or cake, and your dress and flowers will only last for the day. Photography is key"

Taking this advice into hand I set out to find a photographer and feel so lucky to have found Sarah! She is talented beyond belief. Sarah captures the taken for granted everyday details in relationships and makes them beautiful! She has an eye for seeing and capturing moments that couples may take for granted. I love Sarah's work because it unposed, she simply captures the love that she sees.

I would hire Sarah again in a heartbeat. She was so easy to work with and really personable as well. Her and husband are expecting a baby very soon and Congrats to them! I must admit when I heard she was pregnant I was nervous she would cancel on me, but she didnt, it never became an issue! She was professional as ever, even taking us up on our offer to fly her to San Franicisco to shoot our engagement pictures! Sarah definately goes above and beyond as a wedding photographer. I would hire Sarah again in heartbeat and would encourage others to do so as well.

I still have yet to see our wedding photos as we were just married but we have the utmost confidence that they will be absolutely incredible. Sarah's work speaks for itself.

I love her pictures on her website, so I sent a email to ask her for the price.
I got back a automatic respose said her will get back to me shortly. But till today I get nothing from her. Maybe she is busy, maybe she's booked on my wedding day, but it'd be nice just send me a real message.

I am so lucky that Sarah was my wedding photographer. She did an amazing job, and I couldn’t imagine my day without her. Sarah also did my engagement photos several months before the wedding. They turned out beautiful! We even used some of them to decorate the cocktail hour area and received many compliments on how creative and amazing they were.

I would recommend Sarah a thousands times over. She is extremely talented and if you are lucky enough to have her available on your wedding day…..book her!

Sarah seems like a talented photographer but very unresponsive. Emailed her if she can shoot my wedding and it been weeks now but no response or anything. It's very disappointing for someone with talented can be so rude about choosing client.

By some strange miracle, I was able to book Sarah for our wedding in July. It was by far, our best decision and I still get teary-eyed thinking of our photos. Not only was Sarah the best photographer I had ever seen, but she was truly kind and treated me as a friend rather than a client. I was so nervous to be "posing" for photos but Sarah put my husband and I completely at ease. We had a CRAZY wedding coordinator who didn't do her job well and Sarah made sure to stay in contact with me to recieve news and updates. She adapts well to changes in timelines and was always a phone call or email away.
Anyone that is lucky enough to book Sarah will be happy they did. She is amazing, talented, and sweet. I can't thank her enough for capturing our dream day. And someday I will be booking Sarah to shoot my newborn and family portraits. Thank you Sarah!

Now that my wedding is over, I have time to have a life and eat food and write reviews on wedding planning websites. Anyways. The real reason why I'm here is to let people know that Sarah has been blessed with tremendous talent for capturing emotion, beauty, and art through her photography. Don't you want all the emotion and beauty and art of your wedding day to be pixelized forever by Sarah K. Chen?! You're a fool if you said no! Sarah did our engagement session, as she was unavailable for our wedding day, but now and then I shed tears of sorrow because my wedding couldn't be captured by her. But, as for the engagement session, it was a lot of fun, relaxing, and natural, and I was pleased with the outcome of many of the photos. Sarah is very comfortable and amiable, yet professional. She is also very prompt with returning emails and post-processing photos, so I give her brownie points for that. Or just brownies, if she wants them.

I thought I was the only one that was pretty much ignored by Sarah. I sent her several emails and she didn't even bother to respond until weeks later, with a cold "I don't have your wedding date available, I'm already booked." My wedding date was a year and half away.
At the same time I had sent emails to a bunch of other photographers in the same area and all of them got back to me with full details at least within 48 hours.
It is disappointing that a photographer that appears to be talented is not at all responsive, cold, and so busy that she doesn't need your business.
How insulting is it that she will update her blog daily but can't even respond to a potential client.
Anyway, I guess it's hit or miss with her. If you're thinking about booking her I would just keep this in mind so when she doesn't respond to you, you won't be surprised.

Sarah is fabulous. I've hired a lot of photographers in the past; two weddings, an anniversary party; an 80th birthday party for my grandmother; the list goes on. I've never had such attentive, cheerful, personal service as I did with Sarah. Sarah got back to me immediately when I contacted her for my recent family reunion photos to tell me she was alredy booked that day. I had heard such great things about Sarah that I worked with some of my other 160 relatives to change the date of the reunion so that we could have Sarah as our photographer. I am so glad we did! The photos turned out stunniingly beautiful and we had a wonderful time with Sarah! She had unique and fun ideas, she was flexible with everything we asked of her, and she is an amazingly talented photographer. I've seen photos of several weddings that Sarah has done and talked with those brides too. Without exception, they could not have been more happy with Sarah. My family couldn't either. I highly recommend her for your wedding or any other event and my daughter is now going to use Sarah for her wedding!

Sarah produces some of the most timeless and classic images around. She has an eye for capturing moments and details from an angle many others wouldn't even pick-up on, and I love that about her! Plus she is a pleasure to be around and all-around fun gal to work with.
