My husband and I, don't like cake! So from the beginning we wanted something unique and different! We found that our taste buds were happy as soon as we tasted the light and not too sweet cakes at Satura. Kristy Masada was so helpful throughout the process! She was always there to make our event easier. And the cake and groom's cake was amazing! Everyone loved the small dessert bites, my favorite was the mango mousse! Delicious! Unfortunately, they closed down their business here in Hawaii, but were very happy that we were able to have our cake from Satura Cakes.

The Cake we got from Satura was exactly what we wanted. We had seen it in a mag and it had a complicated fondant pattern all over 3 tiers. The were able to replicate it perfectly and the best part? It tasted SO good. I will def be getting a cake from them for every anniversary.

Satura Cakes is awesome --taste, quality of ingredients and value is what we got. :) I'll get this out of the way first...I had to deduct on quality of service just because we didn't receive a box for our top tier on our wedding night although it was noted on our contract to. The restaurant manager was kind enough to provide us with a pan, but it wasn't the same and we couldn't save the cake. The cake was delicious so it wasn't a huge downer I guess.Anyway, we worked with Kristy Masada and we highly recommend her and her team for your wedding cake, or any occasion cake needs! She was efficient and really helpful. Didn't push any sales tactics on us and just gave us the facts and FREE cake tasting. YUM!She can be reached at 808-537-1206 x112 or kmasada@saturacakes.com

We are using Satura cakes for our wedding and I love their flavors...very high quality ingredients, great subtle flavors and light as heaven frosting! I could eat a whole wedding cake by myself! The lady we had our tasting with was very friendly and helpful, especially in helping us find something that the fiance and I both like.

UPDATE: cake and tarts were delicious at our wedding, but our cake was WAY LATE. Very stressful on the wedding day itself to have stuff not show up when it's supposed to. It ended up coming just as I was about to walk down the aisle, and the florist, who was to arrange the flowers on top of the cake, had already left so some random cake delivery person did it instead and they put them in sort of a strange way. Anyway, minus a star for that issue.
OLD REVIEW:
I can't comment on wedding-day service since this review is based only on cake-tasting, but Satura was by far the best wedding cake I have tried. They pride themselves on freshness and their cakes are made the day before and decorated the day of your event (this strikes me as just plain essential when it comes to cake). Their cream-based frostings were not too sweet and they had a wonderful variety of cakes on offer, from a spicy dense carrot cake to a light airy vanilla cake that is used in their strawberry short cake (which is not a short cake at all). Satura is a bit pricey (~$7/serving) but they have some great sheet-cake options (definitely try the dense chocolate "yuna" cake--amazing!) as well which can cut costs ($2.50-3/serving) and provide more flavor offerings. Overall I was very impressed and plan to go with them for my wedding!

We just had our wedding and I have to say one of my favorite things was our cake. Satura did such a great job with it, not only did it look great but it tastes great. A ton of our family are still talking about it, and my Mom LOVES cake :) I have pictures too if anyone wants to see let me know!
I just wanted to post some info, this site has been so helpful to me. Our wedding was great. I LOVE the Bay Area! We got married at the Rengstroff House in Mountain View, CA and it was great!

We adore anything sweet from Satura Cakes, and our guests agreed and loved the individual cakes at the dessert buffet. We didn’t go for the traditional wedding cake and skipped the cake cutting ritual. Now I only wish that it would open a store in the East Bay.

Mari Netsu, the special events manager, was a pleasure to work with. She was super sweet and quick to reply. The cake was delicious. However, I swear the cake looked smaller than I expected. I ordered a 4-tier cake, with each layer 6", 9", 12", and 16" with each layer 4-6" in height. Unfortunately, no one had a ruler so I couldn't measure it. The cake arrived late but was set up prior to the start of the reception. Mari said the cake fell on the way to the Royal Hawaiian and they went back to make another cake. I don't know how you can make a cake in that short period of time but whatever. I called a week later to discuss the cake and they gave me a $100 for being late. Mari said the 2nd cake was built according to the specs we agreed on. I asked about my cake topper being decapitated and she didn't know that it fell. She also pointed out that they didn't know that there was going to be cake topper. If they had knew, they would have inserted wooden dowels for more support. I thought that I had mentioned it to her at our meeting but it wasn't written down in the contract.
