The owner was very informed, professional, and flexible. However, I wanted to meet our actual dj and he seemed to skirt around it. That day, the dj was a surprise, he looked unprofessional and the equipment was lacking, the speaker occasionally cracked and the voume seemed either too loud or quiet. However, the music was timed well and he played songs that kept everyone dancing. He read the mood of the group and so we had a blast! The floor was NEVER empty!

Ryan was amazing! He really knew how to keep our party going all night. Very affordable. Most importantly, he made the reception about us not the DJ...

For the most part I loved the DJ service we got. The price was great and they set up everything well ahead of time. My one complaint was that some of the songs were repeated throughout the night, which is not a huge deal, but we provided the DJ with plenty of song ideas to try and make sure this didn't happen. Other than that, the DJ made sure the night was on schedule and did a great job with announcements, etc.

Over all I'm pleased with the service I received from Scotty P DJ Company. They were a great value price wise as I got in on a special they were having. My event manager, Ian, was great and answered all of my questions and gave me all the info I needed so that I'd know how they were going to handle and set up for my wedding. We did have a few issues, the CD that had our first dance song on it was horrible and at first I thought it may have been the speakers because the sound was horrible and in fact we had to cut the first dance short. Evidently the CD was burned incorrectly because after that we had no problems with the sound quality. Our DJ did make up for it near the end of the evening by finding the song on his laptop and playing it again for us. Other than the first song snafu and a few random small pronunciation problems I was pleased with the quality of the service and the music.

Q: How Long Do You Play At Receptions?
A: Our Wedding Package Includes Unlimited Time (within reason!) So Enjoy Yourselves With No Worries About Paying For Extra Time.
Q: Can We Meet Our Disc Jockey?
A: You bet. In Fact, A Conference With Your DJ Is Part Of Our Process. Usually You'll Meet By Phone To Go Over The Final Plans Just Prior To The Wedding Day.
Q: Do Your Disc Jockeys Drink While On The Job?
A: No. And If We're Offered A Drink We Politely Say No. We Don't Use Drugs, Sleazy Slang Or Blue Humor either. And As For Flirting, Visible Tattoos, Piercing Or Blue Hair, no way.
Q: Do You Take Breaks?
A: No, We Do Not.
Q: Can We Pick Some Of The Music We Want?
A: Yes. You'll pick a LOT of it! First Dance, Father/Daughter, etc... Plus you'll give us must plays, do-not-plays, genre guidelines, you can even give us your favorite cds!
Q: Is ScottyP DJ Company A Full Time DJ Service?
A: Yes. Our Operations Run Non-Stop 24/7 Planning And Performing At Hundreds Of Receptions And Major Events Each Year. We are also fully licensed and insured.
Q: Can You Also Play Music For Our Ceremony?
A: Yes. And if It's In The Same Location As The Reception, (Requiring No Extra Setup Or Equipment) There's No Charge.
Q: Do You Provide Lighting? If So, Is There An Additional Cost?
A: Yes, We Do Provide Dance Floor Lighting, And There's Never Any Additional Charge.
Q: Do We Feed and/or Tip the DJ?
A: Often a "vendor meal" is provided bacause the Dj is on site for 8-10 hours with no opportunity to eat. As for tips,your Dj can be handled as you would a waiter, bartender, limo driver or other service professional whose efforts you appreciated.
Q: We've Never Used a DJ Before. Will You Help Us?
A: Yes. From Booking To Your Final Review, We're Always Just A Phone Call Away With Answers And Advice to Help You Manage Your Ideas, Music, Announcements, Itinerary, And Events.
Q: Will Our DJ Make Announcements?
A: Yes, And With No Cheesy Chatter. We'll Also Provide A Wireless Microphone For Guests Giving Toasts.
Q: How Much Total Time Will You Spend On Our Reception?
A: From Booking, through Consultations, Admin, Show Prep and Production, setup, the actual Performance, and Teardown, We Will Have Invested Approximately 25 Hours In Your Wedding Reception.
Q: Do You DJ At Non-Wedding Events?
A: Absolutely! Private Parties, School Events And Corporate Functions are a big part of our business.
