Sean Haffey was without question our favorite wedding vendor! We felt the most important detail for our wedding would be the photographs that we would take away from the day, and see forever. Once we met Sean, and saw his work there was no question that we would work with him. He went above and beyond our expectations from our engagement photos, to the sign in book that he made for us, to our wedding day. He has true talent, amazing creativity, and an unparalleled professionalism that came through in all of his work. On our wedding day Sean managed to capture each and every detail, even ones that we missed ourselves! He is a pleasure to work with on every level and treats his clients as friends. When all is said and done, the only thing you have left after your wedding are your photographs. So I spent a lot of time looking for the right photographer -- and I found it with Sean Haffey.

Sean has been a news photographer for 20 years, and his photojournalistic style is exactly what I was looking for. No boring shots against a boring backdrop -- instead, he shot natural, candid photos outdoors that really captured our personalities. He instinctively knew what would make a great shot, and provided suggestions and feedback to ensure that every shot came off perfectly. I really couldn't be happier with the photos.

Not only is Sean a fantastic photographer, he's a great guy who is easy to work with. For our pre-ceremony photos, we were an hour off schedule due to an unexpected trip to the ER for food poisoning. He waited patiently while we got ready and was able to get us back on schedule. He even drove us home when our shuttle driver disappeared.

Sean far exceeded our already high expectations. We could not be happier with the incredible photos we now have for the rest of our life.

Not only did Sean's personality mesh very well with ours, but his knack for capturing our personality as a couple came through in each photo. He really sees the "moment" very well and captures it with his camera. Not to mention how well he keeps his cool during the Chaos! =)

Sean's "photojournalistic" approach to shooting the wedding really captures the spirit of every portion of the wedding day. From the intimate set up to the all out celebration, there wasn't a moment or emotion lost from any of our photos.

Sean's Engagement photo session also produced some of our favorite and most cherished "couple" photos.

All of our friends and family respond with the same statement after seeing our photos "You guys have the absolute best wedding photos, WHO is your photographer?!"

We could not give a higher recommendation for his services.

What primary photographic style do you identify with?

What do your packages include?

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

I offer elegant imagery that is photojournalistic in nature, meaning I don't create artificial moments, I let your joy happen and capture it.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

I have experience in any type of light you can imagine.

Is your media preference film or digital?

I shoot all weddings top of the line Canon Digital SLR cameras that provide beautiful digital file quality allowing images to be enlarged without the lack of quality

How many photographers do you work with?

I shoot with two photographers, myself and a second photographer

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Absolutley, you are hiring me and my work not my name.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

I limit the number of weddings I shoot. In doing this, you have my undivided attention to any detail.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

Yes.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

I use Canon 5d mark2 cameras, Profoto lighting equipment and two of everything. There will be no camera malfunctions, I am prepared for the worst situation imagineable.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Everything is backed up from my camera, to my computer.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

I charge for the wedding. There is no time frame for good imagery. Most weddings last approximately 10 hours from the time you are getting prepared to the cutting of your cake.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

Just one, a meal break.

Do you charge for travel?

I don't charge for travel for weddings in San Diego County. Outside of San Diego, I do charge for travel.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

I turn proofs around within two weeks of the wedding.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

I do proofing through Pictage on the internet. I am able to proof books if that is your wish.

How long can the client keep the proofs?

I keep the proofs posted for three months from the time they are first put online

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

Yes.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Yes.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

Yes, various options exist and I am happy to discuss them with you.

Will images be available for viewing online?

Within two weeks.

What kind of albums do you offer?

Albums from affordable to the most expensive elegant albums

When will the client get the final album?

Turnaround time on Albums depends on the type of book you choose.

Additional Advice

Finding a wedding photographer is a very personal decision, I understand that and pride myself in being a warm personality that is able to meet your needs and desires. I have a wealth of experience that allows me to capture delicate moments without being intrusive. I shoot an engagement session for almost all of the weddings that I shoot allowing couples to meet me and see how I work. I find that by doing this we form a bond that carries through to the wedding allowing you to be at ease with me during your most intimate moments. Take your time and really get to know who you will ultimately choose to shoot your wedding, after all your photos will be the permanent document of a fantastic day, its an important decision.
