My Husband and I hired Porter to do our wedding photos. He does such an excellent job of catching magic moments as they happen. His style is very photo-journalistic and much less about posing you for a million shots in positions you would never actually sit or stand in. I have so many photos from my wedding that take both my husband and I back to the exact moment and emotion. Porter is also what we like to call a "photographer ninja", he was everywhere at all times but most of the time you didn't feel his presence which is why people look so natural in their photos. Finally he really listens to what you want and makes sure to document everything. I could not be more pleased. We also got our photos back in a timely matter which I know MANY other photographers struggle with!

After we got to view our wedding day images, people said that the images looked like something you'd see in a wedding magazine - and it's true!
Porter is great to work with for several reasons:
1) He gives 'just enough' tips/directions so that the finished image can look amazing. (i.e. - so you don't look like you're slouching or in an awkward stance in formal couple's portraits.)
2) He goes with the flow and has a stellar personality. (Who wants to work with a bossy/impatient/rude photographer on an already stressful day?)
3) He's super agile! (I swear- if there's a shot that must be captured...Porter will capture it - even if it requires him to be kneeling or twisted around backwards...and at the end of the day, it's all about your photos and your memories)
4) He'll answer any question you have, and in a timely manner. During my wedding planning, we had several conversations via phone and internet- and he never once made me feel like I was annoying him...and trust me when I say that great customer service is hard to find nowadays!
So- trust your instinct. Remember that after the wedding all you have left is some stale cake, a garder and dress that you pack away in a box, and some cufflinks you'll lose.

Porter was great to work with and takes great pictures! I have received many compliments from guests at my wedding on how great my photographer was. He definetly captured all the moments of my wedding day from start to finish. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great photographer!

Shannon was awesome!! He took great pictures..different than the average wedding photography, more modern! He was very flexible to anything we wanted him to shoot and had great ideas for poses and locations.

Shannon was a wonderful addition to our wedding party. He dressed professionally and fit in well with the guests as he moved around and took some amazing pictures. We were one of the first weddings that Shannon did and he gave us an excellent deal providing us with 6 hrs worth of pictures. I frequently visit his website and see that he is just getting better and better. The one thing that set Shannon apart from the others is that he met me at Winona State University for our initial pow-wow. My schedule was very hectic and I couldnt ever find the time to meet with him. My future husband was having a football practice early on a Saturday morning and since I was going to be in Winona I called Shannon and he met me right there!!!
