Very unprofessional when it came to timeliness. I would send and e-mail and not hear from her for a week, only responding back because I had called.
I paid my deposit on March 31, and did not receive my contract via e-mail until May 15, and only after several e-mails asking her to PLEASE send me the contract. My wedding was on May 21, you can imagine my grave concern at that point.
I understand that people are busy, but when you run a business there is no room for lack of concern for a client. Not sending out a contract in a timely manner after I paid for a deposit is rude and lazy. I'm paying you to take 5 minutes to draw up that contract in addiction to making my cake.
She was very nice in general, and professional in person. I'm sure if you wanted a regular wedding cake she can deliver. However, we wanted something "different" and she told us she could make it for us. I was a fat bride with dreadlocks standing on top of a tower that was equal to me in size. Needless to say when we saw it we were VERY disappointed.
Carrot cake however, tasted pretty good. The other flavors a bit too sweet, but not awful.

Kristin, I apologize for my lack of swiftness with all time lines, you're right, it is unprofessional. Many hats are worn by owners of small businesses, and it can be difficult at times...this however does not excuse it. I stand by my work though, and I do wish you had addressed your concerns and unhappiness with the actual cake to me before reviewing in public. Your dissatisfaction with the cake comes as a complete shock and saddens me. Please call to discuss if you wish to do so. 11/27/11: Since you never responded to my multiple attempts to discuss, I have no other view but that you had buyer's remorse and chose to insult a quality vendor instead of address the situation in an adult manor. I'm disappointed that WW has ignored my disputes of this complaint. I provided what you ordered. Plain and simple.

Jen was wonderful. She made the process fun and seemed to really care about what we wanted. Cakes are gorgeous and delicious! She made beautiful cupcakes too! She did an absolutely beautiful job, my wedding and shower cake were exactly what we wanted. Will recommend her for sure!

My husband and I absolutely loved our wedding cake by Jen Comfort of She Takes the Cake! From start to finish, dealing with Jen was a joy. She was personable, open to ideas and on point with exactly what we were looking for in our wedding cake. As a matter of fact, our cake was soooooooo delicious that my friends have wanted to hire her to do their wedding cake!
I highly recommend She Takes The Cake to anyone and everyone looking for a cake that tastes as delicious as it looks.

That sheetcake idea...it's out. When necessary we provide what we call "kitchen cakes" for our couples with very large guest lists. There is a huge difference between cheap sheetcake and wedding cake, you and your guests deserve the best. And yes, your guests CAN tell the difference. There are dozens upon dozens of ways to save costs when planning a wedding, please don't cut corners on the food or cake. Food is the number one remembered part of any wedding reception, be remembered fondly!
