Sheila's Cakes and Specialty Treats

I could not be more disappointed than I am right now. I ordered a custom made cake, as in the decor, not the cake itself, based on a clear picture for my daughter's 18th Birthday. Since I was out of town, it was paid and picked up by someone else. Upon arrival to my home, I was horrified at the look of the cake! It looked nothing like the picture. When a cake costs $200.00, you expect it to look right.

Upon calling Sheila's, I was talked to by one of the "helpers" who stated she was "only the messenger" since Sheila had just left. Ironically, Sheila made it to the phone since the helper made it clear she could not assist me. In the past, I have had many custom cakes from there and they were very pleased and open to hearing about how "wonderful" they were.

Attitudes change when the feedback is other than "wonderful". Sheila was very loud, extremely rude, continually cut me off and made it clear that she thought it looked just like the picture, although it doesn't matter whether she thinks it or not. She talked to me as though I had done something wrong, like I had caused the problem. Like I explained to her, a simple 'I'm Sorry' would have been sufficient at the beginning of the conversation, but since she was unable to mumble out two of the most meaningful words to satisfy a customer, it turned into a very unethical business call on her behalf.

In the past, I have been a huge advertisement via word of mouth. Many people have ordered cakes as a result, including wedding cakes costing lots of $$$$$. NEVER AGAIN! In fact, it will be the total opposite. Although their motto is 'Your satisfaction is our inspiration', it should be 'OUR satisfaction is our inspiration' since the customers' opinions have no value! At Sheila's, you "Don't get what you pay for".

And by the way, my daughter cried when she saw the cake. She said "this is my 18th Birthday and this is supposed to be the cake I celebrate with? It's sooo ugly and sooo not like the picture! I'm embarrassed for anyone to see it!"

Sheila's Cakes definitely made an impact on this milestone for my daughter! They'll never have a chance to make another one.

We loved Sheila's cakes before our wedding so it was natural that we selected them for our wedding cake and groom's cake. Not only was the wedding cake beautiful, every tier was absolutely delicious! Our guests said they'd never had a better wedding cake before.

The groom's cake had a lot of sentimental meaning to my husband and they ensured it was just the way he wanted it and delicious too.

Sheila's is so easy to work with and the cake tasting was so much fun! Additionally, so you don't have to eat a one-year old freezer burned cake, they make you your top tier for your one year anniversary for free; it doesn't get much sweeter then that!!

My cake turned out to be really nice..If you like sweet and heavy cake Shiela's the best cake to go...you have to know what you want when you meet up with them because they're really busy with their bakery and have only limited time. Price I think is a little too expensive for the lack of artistry, I ended up getting my grooms cake from Signature Cakes by Paul for better cake artistry.

Sheila's made amazing sugar free cupcakes to my specifications with delicious icing and filling. The arrangement was gorgeous and whimsical and guests LOVED the cupcakes. Our wedding was at the zoo and I am a diabetic, so we had some challenges, and I chose the arrangement from a magazine. Sheila's custom made a stand to my specs from a sketch I gave them, and it was gorgeous - I could not have been happier with them!

My daughter designed her wedding cake to be very unique and it was!!!! It was beautiful and delicious and everyone loved it. We would use Sheila's cakes anytime.

Wedding cake was delicious and beautiful. I've never eaten a more moist cake.

Sheila's was very flexible with us, and we completely changed our cake design after our first meeting. We also chose something unique, which they had never done before, and it turned out beautifully - must prettier than we expected. The cake itself was delicious, and on our first anniversary they will bake us a brand new top layer! We would definitely recommend Sheila's.

I would not recommend them unless you are EXPRESSLY specific about each and EVERY detail in your contract. I wanted a 'fake' cake with a section to cut. I told the planning consultant this, she assured me this is not a problem and they ALWAYS do it. However, when I got the cake...there was NO place to cut it. We couldn't even do our cake cut or anything. I was also assured no one could tell, and EVERYONE could. The sheet cakes in the back were tasty, but it didn't overcome our disappointment, especially for how much we paid...and then they got the cake back for a display! Whenever I tried to call to confirm everything, no one responded for weeks!!! Totally disappointed and would not suggest them to a friend.

There is only one word that can be used to describe the cakes done at Sheila's, AMAZING! Our wedding cake looked absolutely beautiful and it was delicious! The consultant that I met with was extremely knowledgeable and had great suggestions. There were at least 15 albums, which contained pictures of cakes that they had previously done, to give you a better idea of what you really want for your own cake. I had submitted a picture that I had found on the Internet and my cake turned out exactly how I wanted it. They even created a groom's cake for me that was in the shape of Uga, the University of Georgia mascot. The bulldog cake was awesome and looked just like Uga! Their prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend using Sheila's Cakes if you would like to be a happy bride!

I worked with Julia Barry and she was absolutely on top of her game! We had a surprise for my husband and it was a cake for the rehearsal dinner and throughout the entire process she did not let it slip, and it was the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten. My wedding cake was perfect. We got married on the beach and they created a beautiful 3-tiered cake with our wedding colors tied into every aspect, including the molded chocolate shells. I could not say enough good things about Sheila's Cakes! AMAZING!

We actually ordered our cake via our wedding coordinator and I have to say we didn't know what to expect, especially since we were on a tight budget; timeline; and all I did was send a picture to our wedding coordinator of an idea we had for what we wanted.

The best wedding cake we have ever had. They were great from the cake tasting to delivery day. They even called a week before the wedding to LOWER the price. Amazing. And, they make your whole top layer over for you again on your one year anniversary! Fed fifty people, three tiers, three different filling flavors. Butter cream icing with fondant ribbons.

My wedding cake is so nice. Prices vary but there are lots of slections.

The cake was absolutely delicious and looked beautiful, and the groom's cake was very tasty and looked better than I could have imagined!

One word: STUNNING! The cake was the most decadent, delicious and exquisite cake I've ever tasted. The service was phenomenal, well worth it's money. We didn't have to keep the top layer; on our 1 year anniversary they do one for us, free.

All I had to do was show them a picture of what I wanted and there it was. All the samples were so delicious we could not decide on just on flavor so we made every layer different! It was amazing. My brother-in-law just got married and after the reception all anyone could say was, "the cake was good but it definitley wasn't from Sheila's." They were still talking about the wedding and grooms cake six months later! Sheila's even gives you a complimetary version of the top of your cake on your one year anniversary. My Husband can't wait!

The cake was yummy! I had cheesecake on the bottom tier, the other tiers were vanilla and chocolate. The reception venue's ac went out on us which caused the cake to begin to sink. So we had to cut the cake approx two hours before scheduled. Everyone loved the cake- I just wanted to mention this so other brides may take it into consideration if they live in a hot climate.

This has to be some of the best cake in town. We loved it so much we now use Sheila's cake for birthdays and special events.
