It’s such an important event and you want it to be perfect, but it’s something you usually have no experience in. Shelly was someone we could consult with on every aspect of the wedding. She was a tremendous resource. Not only is she skilled and knowledgeable in her field, but she also is incredibly patient and kind. She was the epitome of professionalism throughout the entire process. She assisted us through our wedding planning, never imposing her opinions, but guiding us to our decisions while ensuring that our vision and dreams were always kept first in mind. She connected us with many of our vendors who were all highly talented and wonderful to work with. The best value was having her as the day-of coordinator to manage everything from the setup and takedown, to the orchestration of events and vendors. It was so important to me that our family and friends be able to enjoy the day with us and not have to worry about all of the many last minute details. On the morning of the wedding, we could all relax knowing that the Moxie team was on top of everything. One of the greatest compliments we received from our guests was that there was great flow to our wedding and that everything moved along seamlessly. Shelly and her team helped accomplish this. There is simply no way our wedding could have been the success that it was without their help!

We recently moved to Colorado soon after we were engaged, and knew that we had to plan our wedding in Oregon, where my husband and I are both from. Originally we thought we could do it all ourselves in order to save money, but after attending my cousin's wedding in the summer, we knew we needed some help- especially since we were planning long distance. We recruited Heidi and Shelly to help us about 4 months away from the date of our wedding (after many of our vendors sang their praises when we asked for recommendations). Boy, were they right! Heidi and Shelly are AMAZING and worth every penny and then some. We ended up having to change our venue last minute and they were able to take it in stride. Many of our guests said that it was the most beautiful wedding they had attended, and I can't help but say that it was all Moxie! We will never forget our special day and we are so grateful to have had the experience of working with the best wedding planners money can buy. Planning a wedding from 1500 miles is a daunting task, but Shelly and Heidi made it extremely easy. They were very accommodating, taking time out of their busy schedules to Skype with us to make sure we covered all of the details. They also traveled to our location to draw out a plan for the ceremony and reception. Their help in planning the wedding was awesome, but nothing was greater than providing a peace of mind on our wedding day. They made sure every detail ran smoothly and on time, from the first look to walk down the aisle to cutting of the cake. I can say that my wife can be a worrier, but it was great to see her so relaxed knowing that Heidi and Shelly had everything under control. In my opinion, there are no better wedding planners than Moxie!!
Shelly did the wedding planning for my daughters wedding helping us organize everthing from cake to catering DJ's etc. She stayed on top of all the details and everything was wonderful. I would highly recommend her she calm wonderful to work with as very organized!
Moxie Events and Shelly Kane are AMAZING! I actually never planned to hire a wedding planner for my wedding. But once I met with Shelly I kept adding more of her services! I originally hired her to just do day-of coordination but once I got to know her and see the amazing work that she does I decided to add on the planning package as well. Working with Shelly took so much weight off my shoulders. I was able to relax knowing that Shelly had everything under control. Having that peace of mind on my wedding day was PRICELESS! She is organized, pays attention to detail, and has the experience to make your big day all that you dreamed it would be! I hired Shelly for planning, setup, and takedown and she didn't disappoint in any aspect. She was so good, in fact, that I actually had several vendors and guests ask for her contact info at the wedding. Several people remarked to me that they have never seen someone so organized without being stressed or more importantly, without stressing out the bride and groom. Shelly also has centerpiece and miscellaneous rentals available- which is a great idea if you are trying to have a green wedding (no waste) and very convenient.

I could not have made it through the wedding planning process without Shelly Kane. She was reccommended to me by Passion Flower (my florist) and hiring Shelly was the best decision ever. I knew the planning would create tension between my daughter (the bride) and myself, I purchased Shelly's complete package. She helped with everything but the reception clean up (and I should have hired her crew for that as well). She worked well with all my other vendors especially with Parties-to-Go who supplied tables, tents, dinnerware, linens, etc... As the wedding and reception took place in my home and garden and with my daughter living out of state the majority of work fell on my husband & I. Shelley worked with me on site, she asked great questions, made sure items didn't fall through the cracks, made good suggestions. She kept me apprised of everything and was so easy to work with. But most importantly she made everything come together beautifully. She removed so much stress from me. I do not know how I would have made it through the actual wedding day without her. And she was FUN!
What can I say about Shelly Kane except that many people remarked to me that our wedding was one of the most fun and well organized they've ever been too! I owe that in a large part to Shelly and her staff at Shelle'.
Before the wedding Shelly spent time going over every possible detail with my husband and I - so many things we didn't even realize we were forgetting! It was such a relief to have confidence on our wedding day that we had everything covered, because I am NOT a details person and get really stressed out even having a dinner party. And when I say things were covered, I mean down to the tablecloth clips Shelly suggested we get the day before because she saw the weather called for some wind. I've never seen someone so able to keep a large number of details straight!
We were so glad to have Shelle' there on the wedding day as well. Not only were we able to relax, but so was our wedding party and family. Her staff really kept everything going smoothly and Shelly was able to handle the few hiccups that did happen (such as my miscalculation of the time the photographers were scheduled to leave) without me (the bride) even knowing until later! She did check in with my husband, to make sure we approved of her solution. I was so grateful.
Almost as important as her mastery of logistical details is her attitude and approach to her craft. She was honest with us, but never made us feel that any idea was silly. And we had some fairly "out of the box" ideas. She helped us brainstorm on how to make things work and suggested fabulous ideas that she had collected from her past experiences.
Hiring Shelle' was a big expense for us. Would we do it again? In a heartbeat. She helped us find other vendors that could work in our budget - and had established discounts for Shelle' clients. Plus, I really can't say enough about the impact Shelly and her staff had on making our wedding day low stress and FUN!

After interviewing every wedding/event planner listed online, in the yellow pages, and those referred by other vendors, I discovered Shellé online and at the Oregon Bridal Show. We clicked at our first meeting, and I knew she could help us execute our "vision" for the wedding of our dreams. Shelly starts by asking lots of questions and listening very, very well. She keeps a portfolio of her own past events, as well as ideas she's seen at other events, in magazines, etc. Continuing on in the pre-wedding timeline, Shelly made sure that I was on track with negotiating contracts with other vendors, and gave me lots of support and suggestions in that process. We had several on-site meetings well in advance of our event in order to identify any set-up issues--our ceremony and reception were at two different venues, and set-up at the reception site was an extreme challenge for all involved.
We initially hired Shelly for day-of coordination only (due to budget and my belief that I could "do it all")...however, as our event became more complicated and my confidence in Shelly increased, we kept giving her more responsibilities and the value was well worth it...I only wish I had hired her for clean-up, too! The value in having Shelly coordinate your event is that she brings ideas and experience to the table...this was the first (and only!) wedding I'd ever planned for MYSELF, I have no idea what pitfalls are out there; she "slings the lingo" with all of the other vendors...she knows what the heck an 8-top is, what size linen is required to fit that 8-top, and how many 8-tops can fit into an X by Y reception area; and she'll listen to and empathize with your emotional rants and raves, and then provide a thoughtful, professional SOLUTION (ranting doesn't solve problems, after all).
In looking at photos from our wedding, and in recalling our own experiences, my husband and I completely agree that hiring Shellé to coordinate our event was one of the best decisions we could have made. I cannot recommend Shelly and her staff highly enough--they made our dreams into a reality, with flair!
Shelly and her staff were amazing and we would not have enjoyed our wedding half as much without them! We didn't think a wedding planner was necessary, but booking Shelly was the best wedding investment we made. Weddings are not something every person has planned multiple times (at least not us!), so we really had no idea how much planning was required for a wedding to occur, let alone run smoothly. Shelly met with us on a regular basis and basically taught us how to navigate through the whole process. She reminded us of all the little details that we were unaware of that needed to be addressed early. She helped us to plan OUR wedding, with creative ideas that were unique to us. She helped to resolve planning issues with other vendors (for example, photographer trying to bail the week prior) and coordinated the itinerary of the event with them.
One of our main goals of our wedding was to enjoy it. That included our families and close friends who would have had to plan and fuss and troubleshoot the day of rather than have fun. Shelly and her staff took care of all of this and no one had to lift a finger or stress about anything. Granted, not everything works out perfectly during any wedding, but we didn't have any clue about the issues until after the entire event as Shelly and her staff managed and resolved them. That allowed us to focus on us during the wedding and celebrate rather than stress.
All in all, I would highly recommend Shelle Weddings & Events and have already done so multiple times. These people have also been very pleased.
