Shepherdstown Sweet Shop made a beautiful two-tiered cake for my wedding, and it was one of the best cakes I've ever tasted! We had a larger bottom layer of lemon with lemon curd filling and a smaller top layer of almond cake with raspberry filling. The whole thing was covered in cream cheese frosting and decorated with delicate little frosting details--simple but so pretty! The flavors were so fantastic that some guests who'd tried one layer went back to try the other. The cake was moist and flavorful; the frosting was melt-in-your-mouth delicious; and the fillings added just the right touch of uniqueness. I can't wait to order a mini anniversary cake next year!

Do not ever give these people even a dollar of your money or time. 5 hours late on the delivery of the cake!!! More than half the guests had left by the time SHE delivered the cake!!! No apology and didn't even have the courtesy of refunding even a portion of the $700 she charged. To make matters worse I was told by an employee that the cakes they use are frozen!?! Complete and total frauds!!!

My husband "designed" our cake. The Sweet Shop made the cake just as he wanted it. It was beautiful and delicious!

I've been to weddings with nice looking cakes that tasted terrible. Our cake was not only the best looking wedding cake I've ever seen in person, but it was by far the most delicious wedding cake I've ever tasted. No wonder People Magazine used Shepherdstown Sweet Shop and Bakery in its wedding issue! If you are having a reception in the Shepherdstown area, including Harper's Ferry, Charles Town, Martinsburg, Sharpsburg, and perhaps even Hagerstown, there's no one better to book. They're a full service bakery of so many yummy things, so be sure to reserve them early or risk them being fully booked.
