Sheraton Reston

Overall, we were exceptionally pleased with the Sheraton Reston as our wedding reception location. We wanted a hotel because we knew that there would be less for us to worry about, and this was most certainly the case. While we thought the ballroom was beautiful, the guest rate for a room was fantastic, and the staff professional, what sold us at the end was their partnership with an event coordinator. We received, at no additional cost to us, a full-service wedding planner that handled all of our questions, concerns, setup, and tear down with the Sheraton. In all honesty, if there were any major flukes, these were shielded from us. They do have a high turnover with their coordinator staff, however, the one we ended up working with primarily, Andrea, was wonderful. She was very friendly and flexible, and, for the most part, addressed all of our questions and needs in a timely manner. The food at our tasting was fantastic, and equally as good on the evening of the reception. Our only complaints are this:
1) They removed water goblets from the tables fairly quickly. After dancing for a bit, you get quite thirsty, so I've never understood why caterer's do this. People want their water!
2) We had an open bar during the cocktail hour only, and the reception was cash. I'm told, however, this information was not properly relayed to our guests which caused some confusion and frustration.
3) Despite the fact that we had assigned seating, and we had EXTREMELY detailed charts of the seating layout, they still got at least one of the two vegetarian dishes wrong. Not sure how this could have happened.

That's all the glaring stuff we saw. Otherwise, we got exactly what we were looking for and would absolutely, hands down, have our reception there if we had to do this all over again.

Good location, the coordinator was wonderful. It's a great value for the money.

The ballroom at the Sheraton is beautiful and our reception turned out wonderfully. There were definitely some problems though. We booked the Sheraton a year before our wedding and during that time there were two catering managers and ultimately, there wasn't one on our wedding day. While it seems this turnover is normal in this particular industry, a lot of the details and decisions we made had to be repeated over and over and over and some were lost altogether. Our meal at the tasting was wonderful, but the food at our reception was completely different and poorer in quality. We were so excited after the tasting and terribly disappointed at the reception. We felt like we had been tricked though the guests enjoyed the food! Also, a bartender was rude to the mother of the bride which is ridiculous since she was the one footing the bill! They worked excellently with us on a lot of things though! They handed out our gift bags and made a lot of personal arrangements for us. The rooms seemed to work out well and Kristen- the director of catering was consistent and great to work with. I really wish we could've worked with Kristen from the beginning because I am sure the food and other details would've been right.

I went through the same the other bride did that wrote the previous review. I initially was working with one coordinator, but she left 2 months in. I went 6 months without someone working directly on my event as the hotel tried to find a suitable person for the job for the wedding coordinator at their hotel. In the meantime, the events manager was very responsive at answering any questions or concerns I had, but I did feel very uneasy. Especially when 3 months before my wedding they finally hired a wedding coordinator, Lilibeth. I was very nervous of having her work my wedding since she had not been with the hotel very long, but Lilibeth was wonderful. She was responsive, calming and did a GREAT job the day of the wedding, she set up everything beautifully and I could not have been happier. However, Lilibeth informed me I was her last wedding and she was leaving the Sheraton (personal reasons).

So the Sheraton Reston can't seem to keep a wedding coordinator, which is too bad for them because it makes them appear bad. However, the management is wonderful, the facility is beautiful and I couldn't have asked for more. The chef gave me 5 choices of chicken when only 2 were on the menu, and he cooked every single one for me. The room blocks were alittle bit on the pricey side, but I talked them down a little bit because of the economy. They also gave me their honeymoon suite for a MAJOR discount for an additional night, which was great. They were more than willing to accommodate any needs and would recommend them 100%, I just hope they find a great wedding coordinator!

I want to start off by saying that overrall the Sheraton Reston Hotel did a great job on our wedding weekend. I didnt give it 5 stars all around because from the time we started working with them they changed hotel/wedding coordinators several times & it got to be a bit much. Also I was a bit dissappointed with the room block we had. We werent close to our guests & majority of the guests were spread around the hotel on different floors. I think that if theres a room block, all those guests should be put at least on the same floor or wing. Also we werent given that much of a discounted room block rate from what the hotel already provided on that weekend. The plus though was that there was breakfast included for 2 every morning, which was excellent & the rooms were awesome!!! (Our honeymoon suite was equipped with a bottle of champagne & choco covered strawberries)
At the end of it all we worked with Lillibeth Suico. She & her team did an excellent job on the day of. The food served was excellent. And they were all so professional. I do have to say though that the cash bar was a little dissappointing. They didnt have many options as far as "mixed drinks"

All in all it was a good experience. There was just some things that I think they could improve. I would recommend them to another couple looking for a wedding location.

Joanne was amazing at coordinating the reception and doing whatever I asked. She was always available and helped with everything. The food was amazing and the staff wonderful.

The Sheraton is very centrally located in a nice part of Reston and away from the crowds of Tysons. The staff is super helpful and we enjoyed working with them.

A great location for your event supported by a terrific staff! The attentive staff at Reston's Sheraton is tops in personalized service for your event, and you and your guests are ensured a wonderful experience. The ballroom is gorgeous, and they even have an beautiful outdoor terrace for a ceremony or a cocktail hour. Jason there does a fantastic job making sure everything is a perfect as possible. This exceptional venue is obviously is a very popular location, based on the frequent events we are privileged to photograph there.

The Sheraton is a beautiful venue for any wedding. I was intrigued with the architectural design of the outside terrace which becomes a central point for all of the ballrooms. Jason Meringolo, the Director of Catering was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him for anyones wedding!
