Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel

We were so happy that we chose Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk as the venue for our wedding ceremony and reception!!!!! We researched venues all over the Tampa Bay area with two criteria in mind: one, it had to be a hotel/resort for out-of-towners (and because we had a open bar and didn't want our guests to have to drive), and two, it had to be on some kind of waterway for aesthetic purposes. We looked at some beautiful choices along the various beaches of Pinellas County, but when we really looked at what we were getting for our money, bang for your buck, the Sheraton Riverwalk was definitely the way to go! First of all, the setting on the Hillsborough River is fabulous (with the minarets of UT in the backdrop), and the property itself has been beautifully renovated, which all made for gorgeous pictures. Secondly, Renee Davis and her team were invaluable in the planning stages, always there to answer questions or reassure. The night of the Big Event, we were treated to what I considered to be 5-star treatment the entire evening--from the time I checked into the hotel, I felt like a princess or movie star. The service and food were excellent, and the view from our bridal suite up and down the river was nothing short of magnificent. All of our guests raved afterward and asked when we are throwing another party! I woud recommend Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk to anyone!

Absolutely beautiful venue! We got married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in downtown so this was a very close venue and ended up being perfect. We also had an incredible view of the University of Tampa, where we met, from the ballroom that we used for the reception. All of the staff at the Sheraton were very friendly and made the day unbelievable! We had about 80 out of town guests staying at the hotel and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay, especially the pool! All of our guests are still raving about the excellent food too! Renee Davis was very sweet and helpful throughout the entire planning process and did a wonderful job to make our day unforgettable!

Venue was beautiful, food was great. Most importantly Renee was a tremendous help in making our day perfect. She was so accommodating and continuously went out of her way to make sure everything went as planned.

My husband and I were huge fans of this hotel from the beginning, as were my parents. We utilized the Riverview room for our ceremony and the Riverwalk ballroom for our reception. I loved the fact that the ballroom had the balcony right off of the room so the cigar lovers could enjoy themselves and not have to walk a mile to get outside. We also needed a venue where our guests could stay so they could fully enjoy themselves and the Sheraton fit all of our requirements.The food at this hotel was excellent!! We have gotten so many compliments from guests at our wedding who enjoyed both the food and the wine the hotel used during our cocktail hour and reception. The coordinator Renee is a sweetheart and did all she could to cater to our needs. She even made sure that my husband had the salad he liked at our tasting as his salad for dinner. She was a little tough to get ahold of some days but it all worked out in the end and we were thrilled with the outcome. We also had guests tell us that she kept everyone informed and organized as they filed into the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Our wedding was the day before Halloween and we had a few specific decorations we wanted out during our cocktail hour and reception which Renee took care for us and everything looked amazing. We did have a few hitches at our venue...1) one whole table of guests did not get their favors, 2)we did not get our champagne and strawberries in our honeymoon suite, and 3) there was a huge halloween party the night before our wedding and they booked our honeymoon suite the night before and gave those guests a late check-out so I couldn't get into my room as early as desired for pictures and hair/makeup. There is only valet at this hotel but if you get the platinum package, parking is included for your wedding guests (they do still have to pay if they stay the night but it is reduced). Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to future brides out there. My husband and I and all of our guests had a great time!!

Sheraton Riverwalk has excellent wedding packages for all sorts of budgets. The coordinator Renee' was very easy to work with and is very experienced. One of the nice features of this hotel is that it is on the water so either room you choose, you'll have a great view. Great Location!

My wedding was at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk on June 26, 2010. We enjoyed our reception very much--Renee was very flexible about arranging the room and planning the food to our liking. service by the bar attendant and waiters was exceptional. Though tasty, the food is very expensive--much more than most catering companies would charge. Still it is a BEAUTIFUL ballroom with windows that open to the River and have views of the Tampa skyline--a rarity for hotel ballrooms. Since the venue is fairly new, it is in fabulous condition! I have no regrets about having our wedding at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk hotel.

Since we were having a December wedding, Tampa was a great location and the Sheraton Riverwalk Hotel was in a great location conveniently located near the airport, Ybor and downtown Tampa.

The Ceremony room was beautiful which overlooked the water and The University of Tampa. The Reception room was a different story. Very long and narrow. (115x40) Figuring out how to arrange the dance floor and tables without guests feeling so far removed was difficult. So just be mindful of this when choosing and planning. I had the great pleasure of working with Renee Davis. She was always so sweet and nice to talk to. However, she needs an assistant. She is always so busy that it takes a while to get a response from her. When you to talk to her she more than makes up for it. She was always looking for ways to provide for our special needs and willing to work with our budget. The most disappointing problems I had are what happened during the night of our wedding. The most unexceptable happened during the cocktail hour, or should I say cocktail HALF hour, they ran out of food!!!! Within half hour, forty minutes there was no food left. I was mortified to have hear this. To make things worse, my Mother had explained to one of the servers that she was the Mother of the Bride and that she did not get any food and if they were going to bring out more food. The server said "No you are going in soon anyway". She didn't even offer to get her a small plate of something, anything!!! I also had other guests inquire about getting more food and they response they got was "No, we ran out". The next embarrassing thing to happen I noticed when we went to cut the cake. To cut costs, we had a regular wedding cake for all the guests to see and then a smaller filler cake that was to be kept in the kitchen for cutting and distribution with the larger cake. Well the smaller cheaper looking cake was right next to our wedding cake. How cheap do we look!!! The hotel only offers valet parking. With our package to parking was to be discounted to $6 for the event. I requested that the guests not be charged anfd that we would pay the parking at the end of the evening. Well not only were some of our guests charged but some were charged $10. Never in all my life have I ever paid to park for a wedding. Again, how cheap did we look. One word of advise.....make sure you designate some of your friends or family to go around at the end of the evening to get any personal items. I provided baskets of hairspray, spray deoderant, nail files, combs, etc and my deceased grandmothers crystal candy dishes with mints in the bathrooms for guests, my grandmothers hankerchief and any additional table decorations like candles and glass gems are all gone and nobody knows what happened to them. That was really disheartening to think that culd have happened at such a beautiful establishment, but it did.
