Sherman Chu Photographer

I can't say enough about Sherman Chu! My husband and I got married in August in Carmel and we haven't stopped hearing rave reviews about Sherman ever since. He was the ultimate professional who somehow got every shot without even being noticed. Not only did he get every shot, but his work was so authentic and real. When we received our pictures back, there were so many moments that Sherman captured that I didn't even know were happening. What I loved the most was how great he was with all of our guests and how much he seemed to be enjoying capturing our special day! It is great to see someone enjoy what they do so much! Thanks Sherman!

All I have to say about Sherman is that he is AWESOME. He's all about getting the shots that you would never expect, real moments that never get captured on film, and the crazy ariel shots of the ceremony and reception area that you wonder, how did he do that? He is all about telling the story and he did exactly that of our wedding day. And not to mention his albums! His coffee table albums are so chic, modern, and readable, we're leaving it on our living room table for everybody to see (and we love it THAT much). We'll miss working with you Sherman!

Sherman was great! He was the perfect photographer, you never noticed him, but he got great photos. My wedding venue was VERY challenging and Sherman managed to capture all the best moments, while running around like crazy (not that I noticed that)! He was easy to work with, took direction well and is very creative. His style of photography is ideal for weddings since he likes to capture the essence of the wedding rather than wasting everyone's time with posed photos. My wedding album that he created for me still gives me goosebumps whenever I look at it. You can't go wrong with Sherman!

Sherman Chu is a fantastic photographer. Since he has a background in news camera work, he was able to get great shots that really told the story of our wedding. Very creative. The thing we also really liked about him is that he wasn't in everyone's face. He was taking photos, but you hardly knew he was there. I highly recommend him! We have since used him to take cool, non-traditional family photos and will continue to use his services.

Sherman Chu tells your wedding story. His vision and creativity in every picture is truely amazing. He is able to capture all the very special moments of a very special day.

Sherman is very professional and talented. He arrived at our location with no problem; on time and all needed equipment in hand. But as soon as Sherman came in and said hello to our family, he was off to work. Throughout the entire evening, I felt as if I rarely saw Sherman. Yet within a very short time after the wedding, my new husband and I had almost 1000 proofs to view and select for our album. It was amazing, Sherman documented everything, every action, every emotion, and every event that took place throughout our special day without interfering with the flow of the event once. I have always loved his work and now have an even greater respect for the talent he possesses.

We are so happy with our photos from our wedding. The day went so quickly and it was wonderful. I am able to experience the feeling of the moments again by looking at my wedding photos. The albums that Sherman put together for our parents were so special. What was best about working with Sherman is the ability to trust that he would deliver a great product. He was a true professional and always brings personality and charm along with his talent. Don't even think twice....just hire Sherman and you can't miss.

Sherman was a professional from the start. We met several months before the wedding and, unlike other vendors we were working with, he didn't make a single unnecessary peep leading up to the big, scary day. On that day, Sherman was truly a photo-ninja; he moved so quickly and inconspicuously as he worked that we never even saw him (well, I did, when I tried to offer him champagne---what a pro, he said no way).

Our resulting photos were in a word, spectacular. Sherman works alone--no intern/assistants taking pointless closeup shots of napkins or champagne glasses--all our images were of genuine moments otherwise missed in the hurry of the day. Sherman was the perfect person to trust to capture our event---do not hesitate to work with him!

Sherman Chu was just the photography expert that we were looking for! He was curteous, helpful, professional and quick! Family on both sides loved him. He finished with the family and group photos after the ceremony in 20 minutes! And we had a huge wedding party. We were so happy to get back to the party so quickly.
The photos were absolutely fabulous and we were just thrilled with everything that Sherman did! He really took care of us.

Sherman is amazing! He is expensive but SO worth it! I have know Sherman for 10 years. When he was first starting out he photographed my sister's wedding and it was an honor to have him photograph mine. Sherman is very artistic with his photos so it is important to give him a list of any "posed" pictures you may want.

Many of my guests joked that he was like the Ninja photographer...he was rarely seen but you always saw little flashes all around the room. A friend joked that she saw him sommersalting across the dancefloor while snaping away! This "ninja like photography" is probably why I was given thousands (literally thousands)of amazing pictures to choose from!

I would recommend Sherman to anyone and everyone. Your photos are the one thing you know you will have forever and with Sherman you can guarantee that you will have too many incredibly pictures to choose from. That is why a year later I am still, "narrowing down" my photo album pictures.

Oh, that's another thing...Sherman offers a couple different album versions. The one that is so interesting is a hard back booklike album (instead of the leather 50lb monster album) that is a perfect coffee table book! You can actually have it sitting out for people to look at more than 1 time a year on your anniversary or when you are cleaning out the bookshelves! :)

2+ months post-wedding, I'm still amazed every time I look through Sherman's photos. My husband and I just took a trip back east and had a chance to share the photo CD with some of our relatives that were unable to attend the wedding. Not only were our relatives able to fully experience the colors and design of our wedding, Sherman's ability to capture the emotion of the day gave them a play by play of each and every treasured memory. Sherman immediately learned the names and faces of everyone in the wedding party, which allowed him to focus in on the key folks during the father of the bride and best man speeches. I think one of my favorite photos is of my sister wiping a tear as my dad addressed her during his speech - Sherman picked her out of the crowd of 200 - she wasn't even at the head table.

Sherman obviously has skill with the camera, but he also has a wonderful personality that puts everyone at ease. My husband and I even took a break during our endless table rounds to chat with Sherman about cycling, of all things - a passion my husband and I share and discovered Sherman does as well.

Bottom line, you can't go wrong w/ Sherman.

We're back from Thailand and had an amazing time! We discussed, the entire vacation how excited we were to see the wedding all over again through the pictures! I hope you had a safe trip back home the night of the wedding. We loved having you as our photographer and have alrady been talking you up to other engaged friends! :) you we're amazing (also amazing at putting up with a bride who hates having pictures taken!:) ). Would you remind me, I can't remember where you said the pictures would be posted and what the picture selection process would be for the album? I saw some great one's on your blog and it has me so excited to see the rest! Also, I believe my parents and possibly michael's as well, my chose to order an album. .... I'll keep you posted on that. We showed everyone the book and they LOVEEEEEEE ITTT! They were amazed how clean and modern the book was. And of course, all the awesome shots you got! My mom was like "it was worth every single penny and more!"
