I absolutely LOVED working with Jennifer and Tim!! They were so creative, and their work is absolutely beautiful. Not only did they make our wedding cake, they also created our groom's cake, which was a "cake pizza" that looked exactly like the real thing. All of my guests have commented on how delicious and beautiful/fun the cakes were!

What a wonderful couple to work with! They were referred by friends and we were hooked from the tasting onward. They have a great variety of flavors and even accommodated my family who came along for the tasting, and gave them cupcakes to take home (very nice). And leading up to the wedding day, I appreciated their flexibility in the flavors and in the design, and they REALLY exceeded my expectations! To see the creation come from a sketch have it all come together was more than we could ask for. Our cake was light, moist, and had the perfect amount of flavor without going over the top. :-) Thanks!

Just a wonderful experience! They did my wedding cake for my Sept 3 wedding and it was amazing! The cake tasted like heaven. During the whole time in planning they were sweet and professional and the price was very budget friendly.

We loved both our wedding cake and our groom's cake. Shockley's did a wonderful job with both and they tasted so good! I was impressed with how easy they were to work with and they always responded so quickly to all of my emails. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for any event.

The cake was ABSOLUTELY perfect in design and taste. It was everything I had hoped and more. The design I wanted from them was exactly what I got:) Our guests raved about how wonderful the cake was and how moist it was. We definitely plan to call on you again in the future for parities, birthdays, etc! Thank you so much for all your hard work! The wedding cake was simply beautiful--exactly as Tara had pictured it. It was almost too gorgeous to cut! Thank goodness we did, though, since it was also delicious! It was great to have several flavors to offer and I saw a number of guests with a little sample of each layer.

The groom was totally surprised by his guitar cake and couldn't stop talking about what an exact replica it was of the real thing. The peanut butter/chocolate chip flavor was the perfect choice for this cake and was enjoyed by many of the guests.

You were a delight to work with and I appreciated how accessible you were--always quick to answer any questions or concerns. We enjoyed the many "tasting sessions" at the shop and will look forward to finding a new excuse for stopping by!

Shockley's Sweet Shoppe was a wonderful vendor to work with. They were incredibly welcoming when we would visit them for cake testings. Jennifer would always email me back within hours of when I had a question or an idea. Most importantly, the cake tasted wonderful! I definitely recommend them.

Jennifer & Tim! Where to begin meeting you before the wedding was great. And after the tasting it was hard to decide which flavors to go with. In the end we chose a four tier rum, white chocolate, vanilla and rum again for our cake and I most admit I truly did not want to cut my cake. Not only was it absolutely BEAUTIFUL it was delicious as well. Guests truly enjoyed every bite. THANK YOU! And looking forward to future cakes ;)

Tim and Jennifer were awesome to work with! We knew as soon as we met them we were not going to be disappointed. We had a 4 tiered wedding cake and a grooms cake that were both equally delicious and gorgeous! Our guests raved that it was the best cake they have tasted, and it truly was. We even had guests stop by the morning after the wedding to see if there was any left over that they could take with them. Thanks Tim and Jennifer! Out of all of the vendors we evaluated, Shockley's was head and shoulders above the rest. From Jennifer's attention to detail during the cake tasting to providing the perfect Redskins Groom's cake (that I ordered at the last minute!!!) we were beyond satisfied!

I loved my wedding cake, it was everything I wanted and more. I contacted Jennifer after i had already received a quote for my 'beach themed' cake from another baker, I was floored when she told me how much it would cost (it was so much less than i had been preiviously been quoted) and she told me she would take care of the seashell accents and my beach chairs for the topper (I was informed by the other baker I was going to have to track down and bring all accesories to him prior to making my cake). Needless to say I went with Jennifer and couldn't have been happier. Jennifer also made a cake for my bridal shower and an awesome sailboat cake for my dads bithday; they were all amazing, not only pleasing to the eye but also moist and flavorful. My wedding cake was so awesome that two of my closest friends have had Jennifer make cakes for their special days (one for a baby shower and one for another wedding). I can't say enough great things about Jennifers cakes.

Shockley's Sweet Shoppe provided a unique cake for my son's rehearsal dinner that was amazing to see and delicious to eat. Our guests all raved over the creativity displayed in the guitar-shaped cake and oohed and aahed when they took their first bite of the chocolate- raspberry flavored confection. Unfortunately, there was nothing left for the family of the groom to snack on afterwards!

The Shockley's were fabulous! They were very flexible with all our changes and responded quickly to every email sent. We were extremely pleased with their service and have recommended them to others. Not only was our cake beautiful but it tasted even better than it looked - which really is the important part. We had several people comment on how it was the best cake they ever had - moist and flavorful.

In one word: SUPERTERRIFICFANTASTIC!! Jennifer took our suggestions and the vision we had in mind and made it a reality. She was very flexible and willing to do whatever needed to be done to make this the perfect cake for our wedding. I asked her to do a grooms cake as a surprise for my fiancee and she did not disappoint. He absolutely loved it! All of the guests loved the cake and wanted to take some of it home. Her prices are amazing and you would be hard pressed to find better. Just because her prices are reasonable that doesn't mean quality goes out the window. Her cakes are a showstopper! We love her so much that some of my business associates have used her for their functions as well. When we need a cake for any occasion, Shockley's Sweet Shoppe will get our business! Outstanding! The cakes taste as wonderful as they look. I gave Jennifer a photo and she produced a cake so beautiful I didn't want to cut it! It tasted so wonderful, she has a customer for life. We actually got my bridal shower cake from her, a grooms cake (that was served at the rehearsal dinner) and the wedding cake. None dissapointed, all were fantastic! The prices are realistic, she doesn't over charge just because the word "wedding" is associated with what she is doing. She has a customer for life with me, we will continue to order cakes from her for as long as she and her husband are in business.

Jennifer is a wonderful vendor- friendly, prompt, accommodating, creative and thoughtful. She was a dream to work with. The cakes were delicious and she did a beautiful display for the event. I will definitely be calling her again for future events.

My cake was by far the best thing at my wedding - besides my new husband, friends and family of course:)!! It was exactly what I imagined/dreamed of and more! It was the best cake I've ever had and by far the most beautiful!! The Shockley's are a great couple/team and made everything so incredibly easy. I had tried 3 different bakeries and wasn't really satisfied. I had my wedding in Norfolk, but live in Georgia. It was hard to make so many 8 hour drives up to do things like tastings so after the 3 I had tried before - I kind of thought that was it. Then the Chrysler Museum sent me a new preferred vendor list that had Shockley's Sweet Shoppe on it. After visiting their blog I decided I needed to make one more trip to VA for one more tasting. It was the best decision I made for the whole wedding - I'm not exaggerating! They are very flexible. I was a very indecisive bride and was changing how I wanted the cake to look up to a week before the wedding. Most of the communication was done via e-mail and I always received an immediate response. I mailed Jennifer a small section of a ribbon I had gotten on a present and said "I like the texture, width and color of this ribbon, but I don't have anymore of it, nor do I know where it came from." Days before the wedding they were somehow able to find the perfect match. It was exactly what I had imagined and I had not even been able to find a picture of! They were also so flexible that just days before the wedding we decided we wanted to have a grooms cake at the rehearsal dinner. Everyone loved it! I don't think I'll be able to wait until our 1 year anniversary to eat the top layer! My husband normally doesn't like cake at all and he loved it the first time I brought home the cupcake samples from the tasting. They have so many amazing flavors and can do anything. Jennifer is a great artist and will listen to exactly what you want and make it come true. They're not pushy like some vendors who try to give you what they think would look best verses exactly what you want. They also don't charge extra like most bakeries for fondant or extra decorations like scrolling or sugar paste flowers (theirs are very real looking). They have a beautiful cake stand as well and will deliver. Absolutely nothing went wrong with the cake or the service the Shockley's provided. If I lived closer I would use them for every occasion.

OMG! You have to go and taste the cakes... we tried 3 - 4 different cakes, with and with out fondant. I do not care for fondant, but the Shockley�s fondant is the best - different then any I have ever tried. Anyways, all the cakes were so delicious that we couldn�t decide on just one. Since we were having a 3 tier cake, we decided to have 3 different flavors. The cake was everything we asked for and more & the grooms cake was a big hit.

It was great working with Jennifer and her husband. They made a cake for my son's second birthday! They did a phenomenal job and I had TONS of compliments on the cake (both in appearance and taste). We all loved it! The cake really added a special little touch to my son's birthday party! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

The cake was delicious, and beautiful! It was exactly what I wanted and would definitely recommend them to my friends. My cake was one of my favorite things about our wedding. The tasting was really cool as well, they let us taste a bunch of different cupcakes that had the flavors we wanted.

I have heard nothing but great things about the cake that we had at our wedding. Shockley's Sweet Shoppe was very accommodating to the design and style we wanted for the cake as well as the flavors. They made our beautiful wedding cake, that tasted as fantastic as it looked. Three different flavors, and barely any to take home! They also made an amazing grooms cake as well! Stop in their shop for a cupcake!

Instead of doing a wedding cake for our wedding, we did CUPCAKES! :) & they were yummy. They make their own fondant (sp) which doesnt get hard and you can bite into the cupcake without breaking a tooth. ITS DELICIOUS. They are very creative and love to go above and beyond to make some crazy looking things. They really do put 100% into their work! I highly reccomend them!

Not only did they make a beautiful wedding cake, they did a special request for vegan cupcakes on the side due to a bridal party member food allergy at no extra charge. Very accomodating and friendly service.

The cake was absolutely delicious, and the whole staff was very friendly. I really had a great experience with them. The only reason that they didn't receive a 5/5 was that I had some issues with getting in touch with Jennifer through email.

I used Shockley's Sweet Shoppe for my wedding cake and loved it. I had a specialty cake made and it turned out just as I had visioned it. Jennifer and her staff were always incredibly friendly and easy to work with. The only negative was that I had called to do a cake tasting and made an appointment, but then when I arrived it wasn't on the books and thus I couldnt do my tasting. However, it all worked out and we still had a beautiful and delicious cake. Everyone at my reception loved it.

I love the cakes that Shockley's Sweet shoppe has to offer always very tasteful and extremely creative! You have to try Shockley's cake before your go anywhere else!
