My fiancé and I have been shopping around for photobooths for our upcoming wedding for a couple months and discovered Shutterbooth through San Diego AList. Shutterbooth was listed in the #1 spot, so I decided to give them a quick email. Abigail responded very quickly and left me a voicemail to call her at my convenience. I called her back and was impressed with her enthusiasm and professionalism. She made me feel confident in meeting with her and we set a date for my fiancé and I to meet her for a cup of coffee and a trial run of the actual photobooth.
Prior to meeting Abigail, I pretty much had an idea of what we were looking for in a photobooth, what we wanted in the package, and most importantly how much we were willing to spend.
We met with Abigail and she took us to her office where immediately we gave the photobooth a test run. I had my reservations because when I first saw the photobooth, although the booth looked nice, my concern was there was no "ceiling" or "hard backing", and no seats in the booth. In past experiences with photobooths at weddings I have attended, those with no ceilings or hard backs were a problem because of lighting issues (especially when outdoors and in the evenings). I also got turned off by the idea that there were no seats because it took away from the idea of an actual "photobooth" experience. However, after testing Shutterbooth, I was definitely wrong. Shutterbooths have their own built in flashes when the pictures are taken and lights up the pictures perfectly (not over exposed or anything). The pictures are shown on a monitor in the booth so your guests can see what was just taken, there's no long delays in the shots, and there was a ton of space in the booth for more than 2 people. When talking to Abigail about my concerns about the backing and seats she brought up many great points. Having a curtain as a backing allows more people to fit in the booth. She actually showed us a photo strip with more than 10 people in the booth. As for the seats, she explained how it gives access to those who may have wheel chairs, walkers, strollers, etc. Grandma's in a wheelchair or has a walker, no problem. She can enjoy the booth like any other wedding guest.
The pictures were developed quick, and we loved the quality of the pictures. We also loved the idea that multiple copies could be printed too.
As for pricing, we were happy to find out that after disclosing what we were willing to spend on a booth, Abigail gave us a couple of options to make their packages fit our budget.
Basically, my fiancé and I left with a photobooth package that can't be beat. 5 hours of photobooth fun, scrapbooking station, custom photo logo, prop box, a monitor that plays the photos taken throughout the night, free access to all the photos taken for us and our guests online, bookmark sleeves for the photo strips as favors for our guests, and a rep on site to make sure everything with the booth runs smoothly; all within our budget!! Abigail even threw in a keychain for a set of pictures my fiancé and I took as a souvenir of our test shots.
I can't be happier knowing our guests will enjoy Shutterbooth. I highly recommend them and can say they're #1 for a reason!

So i went to the Bridal Bizaar in August and saw the photobooth rentals and remember thinking oh wow this is so fun I have to have this!! My husband and I were paying for our wedding entirely by ourselves, so while this was something I waaaanted it wasn't a necessity at that moment. I began getting some quotes from different photobooth rentals, and all seemed really too expensive for our budget. Then I found Shutterbooth. Abby was very helpful and I explained to her our situation and she came up with a personalized package for us. It was still a little out of our price range. She let me know that their competitors were cheaper but this was because they had a higher quality. So I let her know after I had our final count in and knew more of our budget I would be able to get back to her. Surprisingly she always managed to get back to me, before I got back to her.
One day I see a Groupon for unlimited photos for 2 hrs. for $300. My first thought was yessssssssssss!! Finally we can afford the photobooth, so I jumped on it. Well if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is I found out the hard way. I had nothing but problems with this guy. He would never call me back, he would set up appointments and then cancel. He even spelled my name wrong on our sample along with the wrong date and was just very unproffessional. I just had a weird feeling about him, so I decided to cancel.
I called Abby up right away to see if they still had my date available. She did and was still more than happy to work with us. She was so amazing. She was able to work with us into our budget and from there on out I had nothing to worry about.
The night of our wedding everyone loved the photobooth and had so much fun with all the props. It was so much fun to go back and look at our scrapbook everyone had put together. I am so thankful for Abby and everyone at ShutterBooth. I would definitely recommend them!

The photo booth was a huge success! Abigail was awesome, she worked with me to design the perfect graphic for the photo strips the guests took home and we actually used the same design for the paper products throughout the wedding! I was impressed with the professionalism and also the kindness. Who wants a vendor who isn’t sharing in the joy of your wedding?!?!? FAQ for ShutterBooth San Diego
How does the photo booth work?
Grab a prop, walk in, touch the screen and have fun! Once you and your friends touch the screen, four consecutive pictures will be taken 4 seconds apart. Exit the booth to retrieve the pictures or stay to take more.
What if I want copies of the photos?
A. We will provide you a free membership to our online gallery for one year after the event. Your guests can go to this gallery 2-3 days after the event, download the images for free, share them on Facebook or Twitter, and order high quality prints in various sizes.
B. We will mail you a High Resolution DVD of all the photos taken.
C. We can print duplicate photos and create a scrapbook on-site for guests to sign and leave thoughtful notes. The completed scrapbook will be presented to the bride and groom at the end of the reception. Additional Fee)
What is the size of the booth?
The booth is approximately 7x10ft and comfortably fits 1-12 people (though our record has been 18). Our ShutterBooths are also wheelchair-friendly.
How does your photo booth provide favors to guests?
We can personalize a logo to match your wedding invitation design or we will work with our graphic designer to customize a logo just for you. We can also provide bookmarks sleeves, magnetic frames, stand up frames, canvases, and keychains.
Is there a limit to how many photos can be taken at an event?
Absolutely not! Every single ShutterBooth package includes UNLIMITED photos!
What is the standard number of hours for renting the photo booth?
Typically 4 to 6 hours, however all of our packages are customizable.
Does the photo booth print photos on the spot like the ones in the mall?
Yes, they do print out quickly. However, our ShutterBooths operate with high quality equipment so our pictures print out quickly with superior quality and you have the option of the format (color, black & white, or sepia). Also, as soon as they are printed, the ink is dry. You don't have to wait for ink to dry or for us to cut the paper. They print out ready to go!
Do you have any suggestions on how to make sure we and our guests take full advantage of the photo booth?
Based on the event, we would suggest you let your guests know where it is and that it is available to them at no cost. A few easy and creative ways to do this are::
* ShutterBooth Save the Dates are a simple way to let everyone know what to expect
• Provide a note at the place setting
• Have us provide an external monitor to display the shenanigans occurring in the booth (this always draws a crowd)
• Offer the photo favor with a frame, key chain or specialized logo as a gift
• MC or DJ announcements
How far will you travel?
We are located in San Diego but will travel around Southern California and beyond!
What if I want to brand the booth for my event?
We will provide a large visible logo, tagline , name etc. on the booth also known as ShutterSkinz. A four week lead time is required. (additional fee)
Can you accommodate an outdoor event?
Yes, provided there is cover if the weather is not desirable i.e. rain, snow, wind etc., level ground, and access to a power outlet.
Do guests pay to enter?
No.
How long does it take for the photos to be posted to your website?

Only a $400 non-refundable deposit and a signed Agreement. Remaining balance due 15 days before event.

A new twist on old traditions
Photo booths bring back memories of the past — much like your guest book will bring back memories of your wedding. Why not create a new twist on an old tradition? Thanks to digital photography, we are able to give you a unique guest book with all of the photo strips from your reception.
