Simma's Bakery

Simmas was so easy to work with. They provide free cake testing for all of their amazing cake flavors. We went with their chocolate cake, irish creme filling and white chocolate frosting. It was the best cake I've ever eaten. Also, when I walked into the reception for the first time, my jaw almost hit the ground. Throughout my 2 year engagement, I had a picture in my head of exactly what I wanted my cake to look like. And it ended up being exactly that!! I was so happy!

Went with the cupcakes and couldn't be happier with the outcome!

I have always loved Simmas bakery and growing up in the area they were the first bakery I thought of for my wedding. The cake tasting was pretty disappointing. The cake was wondeful but the service was pretty poor. I felt as though the woman who helped us was in a bad mood and therefore was not very helpful. I picked a square cake design and was informed that if I wanted it square it HAD to be cheesecake. I was taken a back by that because there is no mention of that on the website and it pigeonholed my decisions. We were able to decide on the cheesecake and had a very simple design for the cake. (covered in white fondant with a ribbon on the corners of the squares and the squares each facing a different direction) I was informed I would have to buy cake for 150 in order to achieve this design after I signed a contract for 70 servings. I called back afterwards to ask why it would have to be 150 servings and never got a clear answer other than it had to do with the tiers facing opposing directions. When I said I would like to have my deposit back and go with a bakery who explained they could do it at the correct amt of servings Simmas said they could "work with me" and told me someone would call me back immediately to "work it out" . That was 3 hours ago and counting. Why would you say you could not make a cake in a certain design for 70 people when you really could? Extremely disappointed with the service of their sales staff and non disclosure of all the add on pricing, such as the price increase (per serving) for a filling and frosting. All you get for the base price is the plain cake. The cheesecake only sqaure cake should also be put on their website. Felt slightly tricked into something. We will be going with another bakery and are saddened that an institution in our neighborhood is lacking the customer service to go along with their amazing bakery.

The cake at the wedding was even better than the cake we taste-tested!

We got the red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and white chocolate ganache. Everyone said it was the best wedding cake they ever had. I could not have been happier with Simma's! Our cake looked amazing; they did a great job taking an idea I had and creating something beautiful.

Simma's Bakery makes a mad cheesecake! It's honestly the best I've ever had. And I know that they have hundreds of brides walking through their doors every year and need policies and guidelines in place to protect both themselves and the brides. That said, they were a little strict in their dealings with me, and withheld (accidentally) some pertinent information that would have saved me hours & hours of design work. The girls working the floor were young, seemed to be inexperienced (thus the lack of information), and honestly just didn't give a damn (ie- when we showed up for our pre-scheduled tasting, we still had to wait a good 20-25 minutes before anyone even talked to us). So, outstanding cake, plenty of design ideas, & ontime delivery, but less-than-ideal customer service.

Simma's Bakery was a fantastic bakery. They were super helpful and generous in the process. We were very excited about our cake taste as we had chosen a chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache layer and fresh strawberries inside the cake. We were a bit disappointed with the strawberries as they weren't quite what we were expecting. We should have gone with something else- the upgrades to the ganache and strawberries weren't worth it for us. But, the cake looked fantastic and tasted pretty good too. We are still overall happy and we would recommend Simma's to future couples.

Great cake, better than all the ones we taste tested to choose our cake! Loved that they provide large slices of cake per person. We love our cake. Our wedding cake had the White chocolate Ganache, and genoise and chocolate layers with fresh raspberries and raspberry mousse. It was delicious.They are known for their cheesecakes, but don't overlook their cake, especially if you have a summer wedding!

Awesome desserts! I had a bunch of these tasty little treats picked up for my wedding, and everyone loved them. We had a huge dessert buffet after the dinner buffet and it turned out amazing. Great taste and great service. Oh also, they are very accomodating. We forgot to order them, and called 5 days before the wedding. They said it wasnt a problem and they could do it. Great customer service!

The cake is pretty and tasty. Although one of the sales lady, Cara is not that friendly as we expected, the other sales lady (sorry we forgot her name) who later took care of us is very friendly and understood our needs very well.

While their prices are high, the cake turned out beautifully and was delicious and was completely worth it! They had me right away when we went to our appointment for the cake tasting. Our guests were very pleased and that meant a lot to us.

The cake was so good. They have the best cheesecake! There are a lot of different combination of cake and filling and frosting. Very easy to work with and great taste testing.

Cheesecake was awesome. They seemed slightly irritated with with my indecisiveness when I was picking out the design... but hey, they had a lot of customers and probably deal with hundreds of indecisiveness brides, I don't really blame them.

The cake from Simma's is unbelievably good! We had the Genoise Cake with a Raspberry Chambord Liquor Mousse. Everyone commented on how it was the best not only wedding cake they've had, but one of the best desserts they've ever had.

We had a delicious and beautiful cake. Didn't have to worry, and very flexible and willing with options. Very helpful staff. A little pricey, but really worth it if cake is important to you.

We had simma's cheescake at our wedding along with the traditional wedding cake. My now husband and I are a huge fan of cheesecake and they have the best. The wedding cake and their cheescake was delicious. Great people to work with and they were available to duplicate just what we wanted from a picture I supplied.

Simma's made us the perfect cake. The design was EXACTLY was I asked for and the colors matched amazingly well. We had fondant flowers on top that looked real. It was incredible and it tasted delicious too!! One of our groomsmen ate six pieces! We got tons of compliments on our cake and our guests still talk about it when I see them six months later!

Did a fabulous job on our wedding cake, although it was expensive, it was well worth it. Didn't feel that employees were very helpful or responsive during our on-site meetings.

My wedding cake was the most delicious and unique cake that I (any most of my wedding guests) have ever tasted! Simma’s makes several flavors of cheesecake, and they customized mine (mocha-chocolate-chip with a raspberry layer). The employees are attentive and are clearly experts in their field. They provided a complimentary cake-tasting, with generous-sized samples of about eight of their different types of cake. They also made an affordable trial-size cake that I purchased about one year before the wedding. When it came time to decide on decorations, the employees were helpful with color and design selections. I had a beautiful, delicious, and one-of-a-kind cake. I only wish that the cake would have turned out to be a little larger-looking than it was. I highly recommend Simma’s.

I ordered assorted mini pastries from Simma's for our wedding. They were fantastic in every way. They provided a large assortment of desserts at our cake tasting and the person assisting us was very knowledgeable. We placed our order the same day. I called a couple weeks before the wedding to make a change to the order and Simma's gladly accomodated the change. The pastries were ready at the time we requested and looked wonderful. Our dessert table was one of the highlights of our day thanks to Simma's professionalism and attention to detail!

We choose cupcakes from Simma’s versus a traditional wedding cake. From tasting cakes to delivery the day of our wedding the process was seamless with Simma’s. Simma’s is well known in the Milwaukee area for their work on weddings. I am convinced they are so popular because they don’t once make you feel like you are just another “cookie cutter” bride that’s having a “cookie cutter” wedding. They take the time to work with you!

Simma's was one of the easiest vendors that we worked with. My family recommended them to me and we couldn't have been happier with the cake. It was EXACTLY the way I pictured it, not to mention delicious!!! I got so many compliments on how wonderful the cake looked and tasted. This was definitely one piece of the planning that was seamless from start to finish.

They have the best cheesecake in the city, Actually pretty much in the whole US. They are rated top 25 in the country. Not only does it taste superb but it looks just as amazing as it tastes. They can make any cake in any style. They also matched the design color perfectly to the swatch I brought in.

Yum!!! We got the cheesecake, it was amazing! The best I've ever had! Equally amazing was how it looked. We gave Simma's a copy our invitation (an Indian design) and left them to work it into the cake design. They did it, it was beautiful!

The bakery was willing to create a custom flavor of cheesecake for our wedding cake, and a a custom design for our rehearsal dinner cake. Both cakes tasted like heaven but the bakery did not have a cake box large enough for the rehearsal dinner cake so the layers slid off each other in transit...thus half of the cake was ruined.

A few years back when we were vacationing in Hawaii, we found out that the Cheesecake Factory made wedding cheesecakes. We both agreed then that we would have cheesecake at our wedding! When it came time for our wedding, we found out that they no longer offered that service. We went with another cheesecake favorite, Simma’s. We’ve both gotten birthday cakes there before. If you like cheesecake, it’s great. I’m a big fan of cheesecake, it’s the only kind of cake I like. In our consultation, Stephanie was able to show the decorator what kind of flowers she had chosen, and the decorations on the cake matched. It’s expensive to serve cheesecake to a large number of guests, but if we had chosen the cheaper alternative of sheet cake, we only would have saved $200 off the costs of our total wedding, which didn’t seem necessary. We had saved so much with our invitations; Stephanie and I both felt that it was okay spending more on the cake.

Very patient with me while I decided what I wanted. I brought a picture of the cake I had chosen and they did a great job recreating it. The cake was delicious, I'm sad it's gone. I would not hesitate to recommend Simma's.

THE BEST cake ever!!! They have cheesecakes and regular cake. The frosting is so good because it is not too sweet. They are rated as one of America's top 25 bakeries in 2006.

Their cakes are amazing - and it was surprisingly inexpensive to get a delicious cake for less than some bakeries charge for mediocre ones.

This was our one splurge. I can't even put into words how awesome this cake truely was. It was incredible. I have always been plagued by sensitive teeth, so I can't often enjoy anything sweet without it absolutely killing me. But, I had no problems when we went for our tasting. It was the most flavorful (is that even a word?) cake and frosting I have ever experienced! I wish I could just go there everyday to get a slice!

This is the most amazing bakery in the Milwaukee Area! They also brought my cake almost an hour away to our reception location. The cake was absolutely amazing, beautiful, and the most delicious thing I have ever had. It was their cheesecake, with raspberry puree and a chocolate ganache. I was able to work with a designer to get exactly what I wanted. They were extremely friendly and very helpful. I cannot recommend this bakery enough! It will be the most delicious cake you will ever eat! I promise you that!

We were very excited to have worked with Simma's as one of our caterors. We added a dessert buffet mid way through the reception. We had such a variety of delightful goodies. They were helpful with helping us achieve a variety of items! They delivered on time and the product came in a wonderful presentation!

After working in the industry for since 1996, I have been proud at any event that has a Simma's cake. Yes they are known for amazing cheesecake, but also for making just beautiful designs.
