Smart and Chic (specifically Amber) did my wedding day hair and make up. The make up was exactly what I had pictured in my head....absolutely perfect! My hair was also equally amazing. Amber was easy to work with and really listened to what I had to say, fixing anything I was 100% happy with. Also very important, she stayed on scheduled and actually finished a little ahead of time, making the whole process completely worry free!

Lianna at Smart and Chic Bridal did an amazing job. She really listened to what I wanted for my makeup, and always made sure I was happy with how I looked. She was able to finish 8 bridesmaids and my self in a good amount of time, and everyone looked beautiful.

Smart and Chic was great to work with. I know other people have had issues with their communication but I never had trouble getting a hold of them. I loved my hair and make-up and I loved all of my bridesmaids’ and jr bridesmaids’ hair, as well. Melissa was sent as Amber’s assistant and they both were great. They even were nice enough to send Cathi and Annie, two stylists for another wedding, over before they started the other wedding party to do two of my bridesmaids’ hair so that we didn’t have to start hair at 7:00am. They were super fun and professional. My one piece of advice is to keep in mind before the day that all stylists have to be paid separately. I had only brought my checkbook (no cash) and stupid me only had one check left and I was paying for my hair and make-up, my sisters and nieces, and a portion of all my other bridesmaids, so last second I had to send one of my bridesmaids over to DH’s room and have him write out the checks instead. Totally my fault but just a heads up!

Smart and Chic Bride was such a great beauty company for hair & makeup for me & my wedding party!! The huge perk here was that they went on location to the Semple Mansion so that us girls could enjoy our day together there & get all dolled up at the same time! a HUGE shout needs to go out to Amber Walker, who was our lead style artist. It was like having a girlfriend do your makeup -- a girlfriend who happened to be a really great professional hair & makeup artist!! She was so awesome with my trial run (& ended up waxing my brows too!), and helped me navigate my first experience getting extensions to help boost by "low do volume" -- my mom & I called her cell phone frantic at Sunny's while looking at hair, and she calmly told us exactly what to get & what to get for the clips --- I was very skeptical about the extensions but she worked them in great and it really gave me the NATURAL looking volume I really needed!! Amber is great, and anyone looking for someone who knows what they are doing should use her!!! Everyone told me how beautiful I looked......all thanks to Amber!!!!!!!! :)

Please request Lianna Colestock, my wedding was a week long full of events and she did my make up as well as my sister's and friends. She always does an amazing job, I found her after being in my other friend's wedding.

I can't say enough about the piece of mind and fun that we had because we had these great ladies come to us on the big day! They're efficient, fun, but make everyone feel especially beautiful.

Smart and Chic Bride has great stylists for both Hair and make up services, I highly recommend them. My stylist was Priscilla, she did a great job on my hair and makeup-I really loved the end result, I felt beautiful. she worked with my ideas and helped me to figure out a good style for me that worked with my headpiece, my dress and my hair. She also did my make up with airbrush which looked great and lasted well all day. I liked the lip stain that Smart & Chic carries but I did feel that I had to reapply the gloss that went over the stain often. Priscilla was great with responding to emails quickly. She also did my maid of honor's hair which looked great! I would recommend Priscilla to other brides, very professional and talented.

I used them for my wedding and they did a fantastic job. They came to my house and did my hair and make up as well as my bridesmaids. The results were phenominal. I highly recommend them!

S&CB provides both makeup and hair services, but I just went with hair. My stylist was Dawn, and she did hair for myself, my mother, my grandmother, and my two BMs. She did such an amazing job! My hair is pin-straight and very hard to work with, but she did a braided updo that held up all night and looked beautiful. She showed up early and only charged $30 to drive 1.5 hours to our location. She was very relaxed and fun to visit with while she did our hair- not awkward to be around at all. Everyone was so happy with their hair and she also provided feedback via e-mail regarding each of our styles in the months prior to the wedding. I was amazed at the prices, too. $55 for each bridesmaid and $75 for the bride!

I LOVE KIRA!!! She did such an amazing job and made my mother, myself and my maid of honor look and feel gorgeous! The team of four did a fabulous job and made everyone feel their best; the updo's were natural and soft just as everyone had requested. Anita was also fabulous and prompt with answering our questions. They made planning easy and the prices were beyond reasonable! I will continue to recommend them to everyone! Thanks Smart & Chic for giving us the perfect looks for the perfect day!

Amber Brenke provided hair and makeup for me on the wedding day (as well as an earlier trial for both) and did an absolutely phenomenal job transforming my lifeless hair and tired face :) She was very patient and skilled at working with my inspiration images and figuring out what worked and what didn't. She also provided light makeup for my sister/bridesmaid on the wedding day that looked great!Another stylist, Erica, provided updos for two of my other bridesmaids on the wedding day! She arrived earlier than we did to our getting-ready room and started on my other sister's hair right away. She worked skillfully and efficiently and finished early so that we could go off for photos.The scheduling coordinator, Anita, was super responsive, detailed, patient and flexible when planning the wedding morning's details via e-mail. Amber Brenke and Julie Swenson of Smart + Chic Bride were amazing to work with and they do beautiful work!! They made my girls and me look phenomenal on for our wedding (if I do say so myself). They were very fun but also very professional and kept us all on-time...in fact, we actually finished getting ready far ahead of schedule! They were so sweet to accomodate a few additional services for my mom, who decided to get false lashes at the last minute (can you say lash envy? I think she saw the rest of us with false lashes and caved!). Their pricing is so great for the quality in comparison to other Twin Cities hair/makeup companies. I also have to give props to Anita, the customer rep, who responded to my initial inquiry and helped to get everything scheduled--she is a gem and so great to work with!!

The stylists at Smart and Chic are great! It was so convenient to have them come to us, especially because we got married in a blizzard. The stylists arrived on time, and were very quick with getting each woman done. The prices are low.

Cathi was amazing on my wedding day and before. She kept in constant email contact with me about my ideas for hair and make-up and even let me have two hair trials, when the first one didn\'t work out for me. On the wedding day she was perfect, on time and actually calming! She is very nice and fun to work with. She really knows how to make people look good!

We had Smart & Chic do our hair and make-up for the wedding. Kira was our main stylist and she was wonderful. They were very flexible when some of the wedding party was late and even managed to work in my mom when she decided she wanted her makeup done as well as her hair. I had Kira for my trial run and for my hair for some boudoir pictures I had taken and each time I saw her it was like she was looking inside my head for what I was envisioning and she pulled it off perfectly. For the awesome service that lets you get ready anywhere I would highly recommend them.

My hair and makeup stylist was Amber B. She was great and captured the look I wanted in one trial. On the day she recreated it to perfection. The only regret is my hair didn't hold up in the humid Conservatory. I don't hold that against her though. She did an awesome job. It would be hard for anyone to create a curly style that would hold up in that moisture. Overall I am very pleased. Thank Amber!

This company is brilliant - they have such afforable fees for specatular off-site services! I shopped around and could find nothing even comparable to Smart and Chic (even salon where you TRAVEL to them!). Kira was my stylist and I cannot say enough good things about her! She is so talented and I absolutely love how everything turned out! She did both my hair and makeup...I did a trial with her as well as the big day. She is amazingly talented and so easy to work with - thanks Kira!!

Kira was fabulous!! I loved how my hair and make-up turned out and the bridesmaids and moms looked lovely! It was so nice to have them come to us on the day of the wedding. We got to just relax and hang out and take turns getting ready. I'm really happy I went with Smart and Chic Bride!

From the moment I contacted Smart and Chic, I was not worried at all about the upcoming services! My trial was great and Julie is so awesome to work with! She knows her stuff and listens to what you would like to do. On the day of the wedding, she even came back to make some last minute adjustments and touch ups before the reception. And the team she brought in to make up my Maids and the Moms? AWESOME! Fantastic prices and fun to work with!

It was so nice to have someone come to us to get our hair and makeup done. I've gone to salons before a wedding to get my hair and makeup done, and having someone to come to us was so convient.I did trial run, and that was such a good idea. I met with Cathi at their shop, and it was just the two of us. She made me feel so comfortable, and I just trusted her. I put a silk flower in my hair, but I didn't bring to the trial run. I really with I had.I loved my hair and makeup, and all of my bridesmaids look incredible also.My mom got her hair done, and she has a short mom do. She didn't love her hair, but she didn't say anything about it either.

I had a hard time finding hair and make up services for my Sunday reception. No problem for Smart & Chic! They came right to my reception location. No stress. Cathi did a fabulous job and was great to work with. I would highly recommend Smart & Chic.

Kira McCarty did both my hair and makeup for our wedding and I was incredibly happy with my results! She played such a huge part in making me feel beautiful for my wedding day. We did a trial run a few months before the wedding, and I would recommend that to ANY bride. It was an excellent chance to figure out what I wanted and try a few different styles out. I honestly loved everything she came up with! Another wonderful part about working with Smart and Chic Bride is that the stylists are willing to come to you! It was so fun for me to be able to get ready at my place with a big breakfast and my bridesmaids and then have Kira come to help me get ready. I absolutely loved my 40s inspired style and being able to work with Kira!

Julie and crew were awesome! And the whole process was so easy! Both my mom and I did a run through (me of hair and makeup and my mom just of hair). Julie was great to work with and really listened to what I wanted to get the makeup just right (b/c I'm not used to wearing makeup). On the day of the wedding, everyone showed up early and everything ran right on schedule. All five bridesmaids, one jr bridesmaid, one flower girl, two mothers and me were super happy. And the prices and convenience of doing the appointments at our hotel was great. I definitely recommend Smart and Chic!

Julie was one of the best vendors I used for my wedding. It was such a relief to not have to leave my hotel room the morning of the wedding, and my hair and make-up stayed perfect the whole night!

Julie and her entire crew at Smart and Chic Bride were wonderful. You can not find better prices for to have someone come to you on your wedding day and do your hair and makeup. Julie put me at ease at our trial run and did a fabulous job giving me plenty of options. Julie and two of her other artists came to us on my wedding day and did hair and make-up for me, four bridesmaids, and two moms in less than 5 hours and everyone looked natural and amazing!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Smart and Chic! Of all the things for the wedding I was most nervous about my hair and makeup and Amber (my stylist) put me at ease right away! She did a trial run and was fantastic!! She did my hair and makeup. I would rec her crew to anyone who wants a modern up to date (no prom hair from 1998) hair style and makeup on their wedding day. Her team did my bridesmaids as well and they looks beautiful! Everyone had their hair done in the "Eva Longoria" up and messy to the side do'. It was stunning on them all. Smart and Chic was a bit expensive on the bride's pricing for things... but it was an important day and I did have a trial run. I think total for everything including the trial run and day of services it was somewhere around $300 - $350... I have no regrets though bc I loved everything and didnt have to worry about my hair or makeup the entire night.

I booked Julie without even meeting her and i don't regret it for a second! I was planning from out of town and she made it so much easier because she didn't require meetings, contracts, or down payments. Not to mention that her and her team's work is fantastic!I met with Julie a mere 10 days before my wedding for our consultation and she spend over 2 hours trying hair and makeup combos until I found what I loved. She is to easy to work with and clearly loves weddings!The day of the wedding they were on time and already set up before the first bridesmaid was scheduled to go. As the morning progressed they were actually AHEAD of schedule - totally unheard for hair and makeup! My photographer was so excited that he got an extra half hour to shoot because we were ready to go!My make up last all day (I had airbrush). It felt light and natural and didn't look caked on. It also showed up beautifully in pictures. My hair also latest most of the day with only a small touch up prior to the ceremony as some of our outdoor pictures had to battle 40 mph winds.We had great communication and the prices can't be beat! Having them come to our site was relaxing and convenient. For a stress free experience - book them :)

My makeup looked natural and stayed on all day! Julie is such a fantastic artist. I love that they came to me which made getting ready so much fun. I would highly recommend Smart & Chic to any and every bride.

Julie was wonderful to work with!!! Our practice session went well and she was excited with the direction I wanted to go (less traditional, with feathers instead of a veil). She was also very flexible as I was trying to get my bridal party to commit and when both bridesmaids got their hair cut short right before the wedding.The day of went extremely well. Everyone really liked their hair and Julie too! We went to her studio, and it was clean and comfortable, with great light. I thought my hair turned out great and it was exactly in line with the look I was going for (vintage glam). Her pricing was very competitive and worth every penny, because both updos lasted all day and evening.I would absolutely recommend Julie. She mentioned that she's going to be selling hair ornaments at affordable prices in her new location, so check out her selection before over-spending $150 on something else.

So I know praising smart and chic has been done before. But really, julie and her team is unbelievable. She listened to exactly what I wanted, I emailed her lots of photos and at the trial run and wedding day, she did exactly what I wanted. It helped that she said email photos. My hair looked great all the way through the night and the make up lasted the vast majority of the way. As a gift for my bridesmaids, I set them up with hair by julie's team; All of them had a unique 'dos and they all really liked their hair. Best of all, she's really well priced and is really flexible. She was one of the first vendors I booked and I was glad I did.

I called Julie on a whim one day when I was thinking it would be nice to have some help with my make-up the day of my wedding. Their prices and helpfullness were surprising...something I wasn't getting from the other vendors I called. I decided to book with Smart and Chic and would do it again and again. All of my bridesmaids had their make-up done by Julie and everyone looked amazing. Julie also helped us cover up some tatoos on one of the girls. Amazing prices and amazing work!

Amber Brenke and Cathy were our stylists for the wedding day. They were awesome! Great personalities (dealing with 5 bridesmaids, 1 mother of the bride, 2 flower girls and the bride) and we all loved what they did with us. I cannot recommend them more! Amber made me feel like a million bucks on our wedding day.

I loved working with Smart & Chic Bride. Their team came to our hotel the morning of the wedding and did hair and makeup for 11 or 12 bridesmaids, flower girls, moms and me. It was such a relaxing way to start the day without having to worry about driving anywhere. Everyone was so happy with their hair and makeup. I know my makeup stayed put all day. My hair looked great until just before we left the reception. I recommend them to every bride I know.

I cannot say enough about Smart & Chic! They are AMAZING! Julie is such a wonderful person. She goes out of her way to please a bride. Every person I have met, that works for Smart & Chic has been awesome. Everyone that got their hair and/or make-up done for my wedding loved it. Everyone was giving us compliments all night about how great the hair and make-up looked. And, it lasted all night. She gave all the girls extra lipstick and lip gloss for the day. I’m so happy I chose Smart and Chic to do my hair and makeup on my wedding day. I looked around quite a bit, and they have the best prices for what they offer. Besides the value, having the artists come to you makes the wedding day so much more relaxed! My bridesmaids, my mom, and mother-in-law all hung out together in our hotel suite and ate breakfast while we got our hair and makeup done. I got a trial run a few months before the big day with Kira, and she listened to all of my ideas and showed me a few different looks. Besides being a great hair and makeup artist, she’s also really sweet and fun to talk with! The day of the wedding she was prompt and worked quickly to make sure everyone got their services done before we had to leave for pictures. I highly recommend getting the airbrush foundation and fake lashes. I have problematic skin, and the airbrushing evened everything out and camouflaged my stress-induced breakout. It stayed put all day, even though it was a hot day and I got a little sweaty! The lashes looked really natural and were so comfortable; I didn’t feel them after a few minutes.

S&C provided hair and makeup for me and my 6 bridesmaids, mom and flowergirl. They did a fabulous job and I didn't even have a hair or makeup trial. Amber was great and I loved my airbrush foundation. We all looked fabulous!

Smart and Chic Bride was great to work with. Anita, who did all the organizing, was so responsive and helpful in created the morning of schedule and making sure me and all my bridesmaids had enough time to get everything done. Amber, who was my stylist, was absolutely incredible. She is so good at what she does and is so open to critique and making changes so that your hair and make up are exactly what you want. Overall, me and all of my bridesmaids were very happy with Smart and Chic Bride.

I loved that they came to us! Amber was fantastic during both the trial run and the day of. She wrote down exactly what I wanted and we played around during the trial to make sure I liked one color instead of another. My hair and makeup lasted the whole day and the only thing I had to reapply was the lipgloss. I thought the trial run was a little expensive comapared to the day of when I had to go to her for that.

What We Wanted: Someone who would come to our hotel and do both hair and makeup and would make me look pretty!What We Got: From beginning to end, Smart & Chic was great to work with. They were totally flexible with all our schedule changes and really prompt with emails. Cathi and Dee were great to be around - they are really friendly and just fit right in! And I think everyone was really happy with their hair and makeup - I know I was! I would recommend them to anyone!

$160 includes air brushed foundation, false lashes (individuals, not strip kind) and a full trial. Working with Smart and Chic was so much fun. I never thought that I would like getting my make-up done by someone else, especially after all of the horror stories I have heard in the past. HOWEVER, I was totally floored when I worked with Cathi how relaxed and easy it was to get into the beauty mode. I am not typically a heavy make-up wearer and she really listened to what I wanted and asked what I thought at critical stages of application. The trial was really early (8am one winter morning) and both my mom and I wanted to try out the full looks to see what we thought. I think we were in the shop (outside of downtown MPLS) for almost three hours, trying out different looks and asking for more or less of this and that. Cathi was very patient and worked with us until we liked every detail. She was even very caring when my mom got a bit emotional about her aged eyelids and starting to look older - giving her options about how to deal with the appearance of them. We both left feeling great and thinking about what we liked and didn't want for next time. The day of came and Cathi and her second person (cannot remember her name, but she did hair and make-up as well) arrived on time, ready to go. We had a packed room - there were 8 girls, videographer, two photographers and three stylists in the room, all getting hair and make-up done at the same time. They were very good at getting everyone done on time, looking gorgeous! When my turn came, I was a bit unraveled. Cathi sat me in a corner so I could just drink my coffee and get airbrushed. It was a welcome distraction from all of the going on's of the morning. I had been up since 4:30 (4 hours of sleep) and was not in primping condition! She worked wonders and had me looking like a million bucks in less then an hour! Another nice thing, she requested that I chug my coffee and brush my teeth before I had my lips done so that she could apply them and they would stick. it was nice to get the chance to brush my teeth again! I asked for more lips then in the trial and she had all the stuff ready to go, no questions asked. Mom was the same way, wanting more on then trial, and it is like Cathi anticipated our needs - she is ON THE BALL! I wish that I could have Cathi do my make-up for every important event. It lasted all day, was more comfortable then anything - lotion, make-up, etc. and looked great. I cannot recommend the airbrushing enough, it was just what I needed and felt like nothing at all, coming from someone who does not wear any on a normal basis. The nicest part, the make-up came off without incident after the wedding. Just a little warm water and my beauty was down the drain! It was nice to not have to use some strong make-up remover to get ready for bed - especially at 4am! This is a great business and I would recommend SmartNChic to anyone who wants to feel special on a special day. A+++

My absolute favorite wedding day vendor! Julie is a superstar. She does amazing work, and does it at a very affordable cost. She along with Anita, who schedules things and responds to emails, were very helpful and quick to respond to my questions and needs. I loved my trial with Julie - we tried 4 different hair styles, so that I could choose my favorite one and know how it would look before the big day. On the wedding day, she was on time, and was a blast. She has an awesome personality, and is very upbeat and fun to have around. I have never felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day, and that is in big part thanks to Julie and all of her good work. Guests were amazed at how well my hair held up throughout the day, too. All in all, she is an awesome vendor, and does great work on both hair and makeup. I would HIGHLY recommend her for anyone!

I could go on all day about how awesome Smart and Chic was! First off, they have raised their prices a bit but when it came down to it, they weren't much more than a local salon. The booking process was easy and there is no contract or money put down. I had my stylist come to my house for my trial run, I only had to pay the cost of the trial, no travel fee! I would highly recommend doing a trial run.Day of the wedding, all 4 of our ladies (Annie, Julie, Dawn, and Amber B) showed up on time and did an OUTSTANDING job! Every one of my bridesmaids and the moms loved their hair and makeup. Many of us did the airbrush and lashes which made us look flawless in photos. I felt like an absolute princess the day of, Amber did everything perfectly and is super sweet.Also a big thanks to Anita, the email/booking lady...she is outstanding about responding to emails quickly and answering questions.

Amber W and Dee D were our stylists the day of, and I cannot say enough about how personable, professional and talented they are. I was beyond happy with my hair and makeup, and they made my bridesmaids look absolutely amazing. Aside from one fairly significant administrative snafu, the booking process was smooth and simple. Huge huge huge recommendations for Amber W & Dee!

I loved having someone come to me on my wedding day - for both hair and makeup. We did a trial run prior and had all the details decided. So when Julie came to do it all the wedding day - no worries or running around for me. At such a reasonable price. All at the wedding couldn't stop saying how great I looked and I owe it all to Smart and Chic Bride. It was a pleasure working with them and letting them pamper me on my special day.

Smart and Chic bride was amazing to work with. Julie did my hair and makeup and Erin did the bridesmaids hair. Everyone looked great. The best part is that they came to the house and we had a very relaxing morning. The make up and hair looked great all night. Only complaints would be I lost the volume on my hair (still looked good though) and they were somethimes slow to respond to emails. I enjoyed working with them and was very happy with how everything turned out.

I had 8 bridesmaid who got their hair done, 1 mother, 1 mother-in-law, and myself who got ready at my apartment on the day of my wedding. All of us got our hair done and 6 had make-up done as well. S&C sent three stylists, and they all did a wonderful job. Everyone looked beautiful in pictures throughout the day. Both mothers kept commenting on how pretty they felt, and they received a ton of compliments. I LOVED my hair and make-up and felt gorgeous on my wedding day - exactly how I wanted to feel. The only real downside for me was that the stylists were rushing at the end, and that made it really stressful for me and the impacted girls. The value and quality of service really were amazing. I'd recommend working with S&C!

Our stylists were easy to work with and professional. Everyone in my party loved their looks and felt they looked "like themselves, just better." We loved the fact that they came to my parents' house, as this led to a much more relaxed morning the day of the wedding. All in all, we made a great choice using Smart & Chic.

I felt the company and the individual artist had different performances. I was trying to book with Smart and Chic right when their merger and management changeover was happening. It was frustrating for a while trying to get ahold of anyone to answer me about booking an artist. Some time in October or November, I was finally given an email explaining the merger of the company and take over of new management, and there was an apology for the poor communication. Once that was given, the communication and emails were much more prompt and sufficient. I had Amber B for both hair and makeup and she was fabulous. She got there right when I did and was super sweet. She listened to all of my ideas for hair and makeup and pretty much gave me exactly what I was looking for. It was awesome. I did the airbrushing and I am really happy that I did because my makeup stayed all night and even when I shed some tears, my makeup didn’t really run much. My hair stayed in place without feeling all crunchy and that was what I was most worried about. Even better, she kept my hair together by using only 4 bobby pins! That was amazing.

At first Anita, the scheduling lady was very nice and helpful. I met with Cathi to do a run through and I liked it, but wanted to try out a few more artists before I set on one for myself. Also, I had sent Cathi pictures of what I wanted for my hair, and well... she said she received so many pictures, she couldn't remember what mine looked like. I kind of ignored that, and only thought the best. Even though I was being a consumer of services, and still looking around, I thought Cathi was going to be great with my mother and mother- in-law, and those appointments were scheduled, or I thought. Anita called and e-mailed me asking for the final details, which I didn't have our hotel booked till now (a week and 3 days out from our wedding). On Monday I emailed her with no reponse with our final details, Tuesday I emailed Cathi with no response, Wednesday, after emailing and calling again, I received an email stating that since I didn't get them the details (which was a hotel reservation) they booked Cathi out on another job. They never responded to a call or an email until now. For days I was in contact with Anita thanking her for being so patient while I figure out wedding details. But there was no forewarning, none, that I had until a certain time or they would pull their artist. I wouldn't recommend that a busy business woman (I have two jobs and go to college) with child to deal with this company, or whatever kind of business this is. They are unprofessional. And I actually came to find out how steep their pricing is compared to other places. I would recommend that you do your homework first before hiring these ladies. There is a very big population of make- up artists in our MN area!
