I love Eric from SoCal DJ and recommend him to ANYONE for their wedding. He kept everyone dancing all night and it was just effortless. Everyone had a great time, including us! I cannot say enough nice things about him. I love the feeling when you know a vendor is trustworthy and honest and is not just trying to sell you stuff. That is Eric. He was VERY easy to work with the entire process, he NEVER stressed me out. He was always very fast to respond and he just was a delight to work with. He did everything we asked. He is super affordable and provides such an amazing service and I am so happy we used him. He also provides uplighting. He is easily one of my favorite vendors. Hire him and you won't regret it!

Eric and his crew were extremely professional yet easygoing, throughout the whole process, even when we needed to make changes. Moreover, he personally worked with us to ensure we had everything we wanted, like song choice/vibe, and also making sure logistics/timeline of ceremony and reception (and all other smart stuff, like who not to give the microphone to). He followed up with us after the meeting to discuss any changes we had, made helpful suggestions and was clearly committed to our wedding.

Finally, he took no offence, and even understood completely, that we did not want a DJ who would become the life of the party (loud/obnoxious). He performed his work with grace and though we gave him some must songs, he understood our direction of music and made a great playlist.

I have been to weddings prior to mine and I quickly realized that a bad DJ can ruin a reception. After meeting with Eric before the wedding, I knew that he would be great, and I was right.

Eric was awesome! My husband and I don’t listen to mainstream music and he was able to play every song we asked for. We also didn’t give him much direction for dance music and said to just keep people on the dance floor…which he did! He was extremely nice and easy going. I highly recommend Eric!

I don't think I can say enough good (no, GREAT!) things about Eric. From the first time we contacted him up until the VERY end of our wedding day, he was nothing short of amazing.

Eric was always responsive and extremely helpful--answering every e-mail and going the extra mile if we asked. (We made a last minute decision to hire a videographer and he was more than happy to help!) At our first meeting, he wanted to make sure he was a good fit for us and wasn't just trying to get our business even if he wasn't what we were looking for (but of course he was PERFECT!). We were looking for someone who was professional, yet personable and who was in the "know" about music and we were SO very lucky to find him.

When we initially booked him (over a year in advance) we had set a date, but that changed a few times and our back and fourth didn't seem to bother Eric at all. He was extremely flexible and pretty much let us lead the way. Even on our wedding day, when our day-of-coordinator (provided by our venue) was no where to be found, Eric stepped up and took charge of our bridal party entrance. At certain times during our Big Day, Eric would check in with us to make sure we were okay and/ or let us know what would be coming up next. He genuinely cares about his clients wants and needs and there is no doubt we felt the love!

Eric, if you're reading this, everyone had such an AMAZING time at our wedding, especially us! You were such a joy to work with--everything was so easy with you and we are grateful that there was no fuss at all! Thank you SO much for being such a reliable and honest wedding vendor and giving us more than we could have asked for. (Thanks for playing all the NKOTB songs we/Anna requested!) We hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we enjoyed having you! Let's do it again, shall we???

Eric was ABSOLUTELY a pleasure to work with. He definitely kept the party going. Our guests were dancing all night and he was on top of everything. I was never bothered once throughout the wedding because he was organized and coordinated with the other vendors. I would highly advise all brides to use his service. He was by far our favorite wedding vendor and the easiest to work with. Thanks so much Eric!!!

Eric was our DJ and he was awesome. He provided a great price and did all the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception music. All the main event songs were perfectly cued up (including through the ceremony and during all those marquee moments during the reception) and my friends were raving about the fantastic music all night long. There was dancing to the bitter end! The sound was great, the selection was everything I asked for, and Eric followed up when I was being a delinquent bride and not submitting my song choices to him. He accommodated our needs and really made a terrific party. Also, when I was a bit drunk and wandered over to Eric to ask for Metallica, he was wise enough to tell me no. Thank you Eric!

I have zero complaints about Eric. He was very friendly to us, our guests, and all of our other vendors. We had a very "Top 40"-ish music selection, and he supplemented our requests perfectly. All of that and fairly cheap to boot. You really can't get any better.

Eric from SoCal-DJ was super awesome, both in the planning process as well as at our wedding. He met with us a few times, to get to know us and talk to us about our reception plans. He was always incredibly responsive to our emails and phone calls whenever we had a question.

At our reception, he did a phenomenal job! The music was great - exactly what we were looking for. He read the crowd well, and would switch up the music when he sensed they needed a little something different. He was also a great emcee -- he kept the "scheduled" events of the evening moving along (one of those things you don't really think about but is so important -- especially if you only have so many hours in your reception venue!) but without being cheesy or over the top, like so many wedding DJs can be. He was exactly what we were looking for, and we would highly recommend him to anyone else planning their wedding!

Eric is such an amazing DJ!!! The best ever. I am extremely, extremely particular with music. I had researched through countless DJs, but after meeting Eric, we knew he was the one for us. Eric is knowledgeable with equipment, genres, sets, mixes, transitioning, etc...you can tell he has experience under his belt and enjoys doing what he does. We are so happy we had Eric at our wedding. He kept the dance floor MOVING all night long. All of my wedding guests were so sad to leave the reception because we were all having the time of our lives. I had a lot of events planned, but Eric kept everything flowing so smoothly throughout the reception. He is very accommodating and patient (during the planning stages, I was so indecisive with our song choices!). To top it all off, he had great pricing! I HIGHLY recommend Eric for any event!! Eric was fantastic!!! From the planning stages all the way to the final minutes of the wedding, Eric worked hard to ensure the music fit our day. It was a true party - even the older people were on the floor dancing! Our guest young and old danced the night away and still comment to this day on how wonderful the DJ was. My husband and I would recommend Eric for any event - he's the best!!!

My now-husband works in the music industry and is extremely particular about music so I thought finding a DJ would be difficult – luckily we found Eric. Eric is knowledgeable about all different genres of music and was eager to work with our eclectic tastes. Our final meeting he went over every detail with us and we left feeling in good hands. The day of the wedding Eric was everything we hoped for! He was very careful to make the music about our tastes, using the extensive lists we gave him, while balancing it with what our guests wanted to hear. He never overpowered the event but kept the night running smoothly at the same time. All in all, I enthusiastically recommend him – Eric was wonderful!!

Eric was absolutely fabulous! He did a great job at our wedding, we had multiple guests compliment us on our dj. Throughout the planning process he was very attentive and available to answer any questions we had.

He made it very clear he would play or not play exactly what we wanted which was wonderful. We wanted some music played that strayed from typical wedding music and he wove that together wonderfully with other music that would appeal to some of our older guests.

He also has very fair pricing and you get a lot for your money with him.

My fiance and I are extremely picky about our music. I did a playlist for Eric and picked out every song from cocktail hour to the very end of the night and he played every song. I have heard of DJ's being given a specific playlist and a do not playlist and they completely ignore it. I was very concerned about this. Eric did exactly what we wanted. He was also very professional. We are in our 30's and had a pretty sophisticated crowd. We didn't want anything cheesy or juvenile, and Eric was fantastic. Also, his pricing was great. Our wedding was at a location he hadn't been to before and a week ahead of time, he went there to visit the location and check it out. He also had a number of questions for us and was very proactive in mading sure he knew exactly what we wanted. We were very happy!!

I think choosing a DJ is a very personal choice. It really depends on the kind of event you want. Eric was absolutely perfect for us. It was important that we didn't have a corny DJ and that it didn't become "The Eric Show." We had gone to a few weddings earlier in the year where the DJ's were just so horribly corny and we didn't want ours to take away from what the day was really about. He was a great "Master of Ceremonies" and really kept the flow of the night going. He made suggestions for the timeline of events that worked out well. We wanted to be able to go around during dinner and talk to everyone and he gave us time for that instead of rushing us through it due to the timeline. Although, he was great about reminding us what time it was so that we were aware of the timeline (it goes by so fast!). He always made sure that we were ready when it was time to move on to the next part (the special dances, cake cutting, etc). Eric seemed a little quiet when we first met him, but I loved that he didn't come off like a salesman. He played ALL the songs we requested (and there were a LOT). Even our ceremony music was obscure but I found where he could download it from Amazon.com and he did. Our Best Man speeches were fairly short and didn't really toast us, so after, Eric asked everyone to raise their glasses and he toasted us - he was quick on his feet like that. He played great dance music. In all his reviews online, the brides always said "he kept people dancing all night" and now I know how very true that is. Our dance floor was full the entire night. We don't dance and spent most of our time mingling with the guests, but everyone who did dance said they had a great time. Even people who don't normally dance were either on the dance floor or commented about how great the music was. Toward the end, a guest had requested "Bohemian Rhapsody" and he told her (nicely) he couldn't play it because it would really slow things down so he played "Thriller" instead and kept it going till the end. We also didn't want any corny songs, like YMCA or the Chicken Dance or We Are Family, and he was good about not playing them or anything like them (of course, if you wanted him to play them, he totally would!). He was absolutely amazing and at a great price - I can't recommend him highly enough!

Eric is phenomenal! He is easygoing, always available to talk, and wants to make sure your day goes smoothly. I am slightly OCD about music, so I made him a long list of must-haves, and he hit almost all of them. My husband wanted country music for his family, but when no one got out there to dance, he switched over to other genres and never played country again. He feels out the crowd's taste and wants to make sure that the dance floor is jumping. He came early, was respectful to everyone, and mixed music really well. Props to Eric!

Without a doubt, Eric is the best!! When looking for a DJ, we knew it was important to find a good one that would be able to keep everyone on their feet...afterall, who wants the memory of their wedding to be a boring one?! That being said, we met with one DJ (Eric of course) and knew immediately that he was the DJ for us. We booked him well in advance and for the several months from then until the wedding, he would randomly email me to make sure that the wedding planning process was going smoothly and that I hadn't gone crazy yet. He was also very patient with me when I would send him emails repeatedly asking if I was slacking on something that I was supposed to be doing for him.

The very last time that we met with him before our wedding solidified everything for us. We met with him to finalize the music list, etc. and left feeling as though we had just met up with an old friend which is a nice feeling considering he would make or break our reception!!

I highly highly recommend Eric as he did a wonderful job at our wedding. I still have people to this day telling me that they wish our reception would have lasted longer because they were having so much fun on the dance floor.

Eric was AWESOME! He was very easy to contact during the planning phase (he even emailed to check in on us a few times!) We met with him a week or two before our wedding day to go over all the details, and he answered any questions we had.

On the wedding day, I couldn't have been more happy with our choice of Eric. He made sure everything ran smoothly. One of my favorite things about him was that he would ask us if we were ready before announcing any of the events at the reception. At one point during the reception, he had asked if we were ready for the cake cutting. We told him that we were, but soon realized that our cake cutting instruments were not on the table. My husband ran over to him to tell him that we were not indeed ready and he was able to stall for time without anyone noticing, until the knife could be tracked down.

The music he played was perfect (and I can be picky). He was able to pick and choose songs that fit well with our taste in music (which he was able to detect from the selection of songs I had given him a few months back). He was also able to "read" the crowd. There were several people on the dance floor wearing sunglasses (who knows why) and he played "Sunglasses at Night" which was hit, especially among that crowd! He was very good at organizing the songs to fit well with the flow of the reception.

Eric is a very sweet guy, and makes sure that you are having fun. He made eye contact with both of us to make sure we were having a good time. He also seemed to be decently priced in the area, which was one of the reasons I picked him. That and he had such great reviews!

BOTTOM LINE: I would recommend Eric to any couple looking for a DJ to help the flow of their reception and keep people on the dance floor. :)

I had booked Eric based on the reviews that I read on ProjectWedding and actually did not even speak with him prior to giving him a deposit! Despite the hasty choice, Eric far exceeded our expectations every step of the process. He was always very responsive to emails/calls and was always on top of us to get him songs/info that he needed. Working with him to come up with the atmosphere that we wanted was also enjoyable - he met with us for an hour and discussed what we liked/wanted, his style and recommendations from other weddings and also what were the "don'ts" at the wedding (YMCA and the Chicken dance :)). At the wedding, he was on time, setup and ready to go without even coming to speak with us. He handled the music during the ceremony and the amp for the minister's mic - I can't tell you how sweet he was, smiling and nodding encouragement whenever he caught my eye during the ceremony. He was really a very sweet guy to work with!

The reception was AMAZING and all of our friends commented on how fun the party was. He had a great ability to read the crowd and know exactly what song would get/keep people dancing. He also incorporated some Mexican music to keep my husband's family happy! Plus he provided the music for our cocktail hour (through the site's system) even though we threw the request at him (very) last minute.

I really can't say enough good things about Eric and would highly recommend him to any bride looking for a fun wedding with a true professional!

We went with Eric from SoCal-Djs, and he was wonderful. I found him upon recommendation of other people in the area who had used him, and I was not disappointed. He knew how to "work the room," making sure that people weren't looking bored. His pricing was lower than I expected, especially since it included an assistant, also. And while most other djs I had interviewed said that they would play "several" of our song choices (but usually limited the number guaranteed), Eric even let us give him full cds of music that we wanted to be played during the evening. He used a smaller system during the ceremony, and had the larger system already set up for the reception, so that there would always be music going for the guests. It was perfect!

We haven't gotten married quite yet, so I can't speak for the actual day of the wedding. However, booking Eric was an easy choice for us... we were having a difficult time finding a good dj, especially since what we considered to be some of the best djs were wanting to charge an arm and a leg for their time, and also weren't willing to play more than a few songs that we requested.

Enter Eric, who made us feel instantly at ease. He guaranteed that he will be able to play most of the music we give him, even taking the time to listen to all the music ahead of time. It isn't simply about pushing a button to him...he "reads" the crowds and plays what he feels would be best at the time. Listening to him speak when we met, it is obvious that it wasn't just a "sales pitch" that he was giving...he actually knew what he was talking about.

And he has been very attentive. At this last stage before the actual wedding date, when I am having to call and double-check with all the vendors to make sure things are on track, Eric was the one to actually get in contact with ME for the very same reason... he is on top of things, all the way!

There is a reason why everyone raves about Eric on theknot.com. He is simply really good at what he does. Eric took time to learn the pronunciations of my relatives for their entrance into the reception and he kept the reception rolling. He worked well with our coordinator (Christina of Simply Modern Weddings) and took time to understand the timeline of the reception that she had laid out. He truly went above and beyond what we had expected of a DJ.

Eric was fantastic! I highly recommend him, he was available through e-mail, he called to make sure I was doing OK, he even helped to come in early so that there was music for the cocktail half hour before the ceremony, He did everything. The ceremony was beautiful, he let me choose all the songs and even threw some in that I appreciated! Our first dance was "Secret Smile" by Semisonic and he did a great job fading it out. The crowd loved him, my father even danced!

Like most, we had Eric. We booked him with very short notice because we had Thursday, off season wedding. I highly reccomend going this route. You save tons and get your choice of the best vendors at a bit of a discounted rate.

Eric was awesome! He was so easy to work with, patient etc, etc, etc. The day of he had everyone on the dance floor and because our string quartet was late and wanted to stay their full time, Eric totally accomodated his time and stayed late as well. He was with us til midnight and was amazing the whole night. Even with family and friends coming up making requests.

Eric from SoCal-DJ was our DJ. I found because of so many high reviews on TheKnot...and he did not disappoint. He was so professional and pretty much planned the entire reception for me, which was a huge weight off my shoulders.
