Where do I begin...I should probably start by saying "WOW"! I met with several planners, but when I sat down at my first meeting with Charyl, at Social Butterfly, there was no question who I would hire. The whole team at Social Butterfly were with me every step of the way! Through every appointment, decision, and the final wedding weekend! After you have gone through the wedding process every bride knows that a wedding is so much more than just a fancy party where you give out free drinks! Social Butterfly provided so much more than just planning. They made the whole process so much fun and the wedding weekend so seamless, I never had to lift a finger! It was truly the most beautiful event I had ever been too, I couldn't believe it actually was my wedding! If you are considering going with anyone else...don't!

To say that there was a connection after I met with the Social Butterfly Events team is an understatement….it was more like after 5 minutes, I knew that they were a perfect fit for me and my wedding! I’m not like most brides, I had my venue picked out and even some vendors booked, but I had a vision that I quite couldn’t put into place myself and I knew that the team at SBE would be able to make my vision come to life. I was not disappointed at any point during the process. Charyl and her team were extremely attentive in booking appointments and contacting vendors on my behalf. I was also lucky enough to also get to work with Heather and the Paper Butterfly who designed my unique invitations that received rave reviews from both local and out of town guests. The unique approach with the ability to custom design to fit the theme of my wedding was so much better than using the canned templates at stationery stores. The SBE team also suggested vendors and options for things that I had not yet booked like florals and lighting. The exceptional service that Charyl and the SBE team provided made me feel like I was their only client even though I know they were working with many other brides. I didn’t have to worry about a thing for the rehearsal or the day of, the SBE team took care of it all and I was able to relax and enjoy everything at my wedding. Even with the challenge of a crazy rainstorm, SBE made some last minute adjustments and the event space turned out as perfect as I had imagined. Their attention to detail, event management and design assistance is exceptional!! I’m proud to be a part of the SBE family and I would definitely recommend the SBE team for your most important event!

Love the ladies of Social Butterfly Events! From the very beginning they were giving me wonderful ideas and helping me with any questions I had. They were always easy to get in touch with and responded promptly. The day of my wedding was amazing. Everything ran so smooth and on time. I even had a guest show up late who said he thought he would be on time because weddings never start on time...mine did! If there were any issues the day of, I didn't know about them. Charyl and Heather handled everything with grace and the utmost professional attitudes. They also made me feel so special, like I was the most beautiful bride they had ever seen :) I would absolutely recommend them and I already have. Thank you for everything ladies!

Charyl and Heather are professional and super fun and truly helped my husband and I plan the best day of our lives! They took the time to understand our vision and get to know us as a couple. They helped us pick vendors that fit our style and our budget. They scheduled tons of tastings and meetings and went with us to all of them. Even though they had tons of weddings going at once, they made us feel so special and unique through the whole process. Where do I begin to review Charyl and Heather and all that is Social Butterfly Events? Do I start with how these two amazing women custom made haybale covers (for the haybales that I wanted...which they found, procured, and delivered)? Or maybe it'd better to start by commenting on their extensive network of trusted vendors, all of whom took the time to tell me "how awesome" my planners were, and all of whom were willing to bend over backwards to help the Social Butterfly girls and their bride? Perhaps the best route is to begin with how comfortable and cared for Charyl and Heather made my husband and I (and our whole families) feel, from the first phone conversation with Charyl until heather ushered me to the top of the aisle on our wedding day? Any way I go about it, Social Butterfly rocks. They beyond rock. They took our dreams of what we wanted for our wedding-however out-there and vague they were- and made them into an incredible celebration of joy and gratitude that at once honored who we are as wacky individuals, and also radiated with the importance and tradition that should surround any wedding. Working with Charyl and Heather you get the sense that these girls care about your MARRIAGE and not just your WEDDING. Will they get all excited with you when you find the perfect flowers for your bouquet? Heck yes! Are they going to handle business and keep things running PERFECTLY on your big day? Absolutely. Drunk toasters and all. Marc and I consider these ladies great friends, and we'd get married all over again, with these two, in a heartbeat.

My wedding was on May 7, 2010.
The ladies of Social Butterfly were great to work with through the planning process all the way to the big day. They were in regular contact with me, and kept me on track with bride tasks so I wouldnt have so much to do in the last few weeks.
As far as value, I believe that this service paid for itself. SB offers the experience to steer you away from less-dependable or overpriced vendors, preventing possible catastophies or budget issues. They also saved me a great deal of time on the wedding day confirming vendors and decorating so I was able to have leisurely time with my bridesmaids for fun, memorable moments, rather than nervous preparation.
On the actual wedding day, the venue was decorated beautifully, all my requests were taken care of, and they were there to remind me of things I wanted to do at the reception while maintaing a low profile.
Im not sure what happened after the wedding as my family, friends and I were not a part of the clean-up process. I can tell you that I met Charyl a few days later and she had all of my "left behind" belongings! What a saint.
What sets SB apart from the other planners in Southeastern NC is that they are not rigid or stuffy old-schoolers with a mission to have a cookie-cutter wedding. They work with you to navigate through wedding ettiquette, while ensuring you have the wedding of your dreams either traditional or casual. They truly do understand the modern bride.

I would not have changed anything about my wedding. It had the atmosphere and vibe that I had invisioned for my beach wedding, all thanks to Social Butterfly Events. The only advice I can give to future brides is hire a wedding planner!!!! The last thing your wedding should do is cause you stress. The only real stress I ever felt was over the possiabilty of a looming hurricane! I would also tell future brides the I do's are the only thing that is important everything else is just details!

Charyl & Heather came highly recommended. Originally, I was not planning on hiring wedding planners, but my mom & I lived a good 4 hours from our wedding location. It was certainly one of the best decisions I made to help get in gear for planning.

Social Butterfly Events is amazing! They helped me with all my "day of" wedding plans, and I cannot express how much I needed them, and am so glad to have had them. I am a Catering Manager, and thought I could do it all myself. It was like a burden lifted off my shoulders when Charyl and Heather helped me on my wedding day. I didn't have to think about anything on my wedding day other then having a great time, because they did it all for me! I hired Social Butterfly to help me in planning my destination wedding. I wanted a planner because I knew that planning a wedding from so far away would not be easy and I thought it would make the planning process less stressful. Unfortunately they added a great deal of stress. After meeting them for the first time a year before the wedding they told us they were going to book the two local trollies in town to ensure we would get them. They never did and when the time came we had to book a charter bus to take guests from the ceremony site to the reception venue. This caused a great deal of extra time, stress, and money. I rarely would get responses from emails I would send them with questions or concerns, even though my contract stated "unlimited calls and meetings" were provided. Because I was so far away, I only needed to meet with them a few times, so I would have thought the few emails I did send during the planning would be answered promptly. Come wedding day, they did a great job of doing everything I wanted. It was the lack of communication throughout the planning process that made this a negative experience for me.

I am sorry that you feel this way about your experience with Social Butterfly Events. Unfortunately the trolley company had been booked months before we had ever talked about them so this wasn't due to a lack of trying! I hope that you enjoyed your wedding day and could see we went above and beyond our contractual obligations on your day to make sure you enjoyed your day!
I love the butterflies! I work with them as often as possible! My brides never have a complaint, and being one of their brides as well I can honestly say they are AMAZING!

How much does an event coordinator cost?
An event planner will only cost as much as you want them to. All of our packages are custom designed around the needs of the couple. If you are looking for day-of services only those packages start at $500.00 and increase depending on the services that are requested. We do offer a complimentary consultation so that we can discuss your budget and your expectations. From there we are able to pull together a proposal that includes the services you need as well as a detailed section that outlines all of our responsibilities.
What if I want to plan the event myself?
By no means do we want to take over your wedding and make it our own. We want to see your vision of your wedding and help match you with the vendors that will be able to bring that vision to a reality. A great event planner is well connected in the community with all of the best vendors that you will need to make your day a success. When you decide to hire an event planner you save time and frustration searching for the perfect vendor. We have relationships with vendors in all areas of wedding planning and we are able to help bring the right vendors to the right bride. In no way are you obligated to use our recommended vendors. We recommend people who we have worked with and stand behind their reputation.
